I mainly say that because it's really unique and one of a kind other than the movie that is based off of the book but that's a given.
I am currently reading Warriors Dawn of the Clans The Sun Trail by Erin Hunter and I am on page 82. This book really reminds of a movie I watched when I was a kid called The Land Before Time. These two things are similar because in the story lines, the main characters have to go find somewhere else to live because their old home isn't resourceful enough; food, water, shelter, etc. And since I have read this book before, I know in the end of both the movie and the book that they find their new home. That's how these two things are similar to each other.
I had just finished Theodore Boone Abduction by John Grimham. The book’s plot is very similar to a lot of movies that I have seen. I have seen movies where the best friend has gone missing and the main character is needing to find them before there is more chaos. Also when there was clues into finding the best friend, and the clues are related to the best friend in some way. Also having Theo’s friends and family saving the day and reuniting everybody at the end of the story. There are tons of books and movies and books based on this book and it’s a very good idea when the authors like John Grimham mixes up the story like he did.
ISwarts4 Very good comparison between the book and the movie.
DBecker4 That sounds like a very good original story.
Daniel X book 3 written by James Patterson and I am done with the book! This book reminds me a lot of BATMAN in a lot of ways. The first similarity that I noticed was how in the beginning both of there parents died therefor being left with no one to turn to. Another similarity is how they cope with this problem so instead of being depressed they tried to fight the problem and get revenge. Another reason why these to characters are similar is because they did get there revenge. And even though they got there revenge they did not stop fighting crime.
charpe5 I like your discription
DBecker4 i have haerd of that book
My book the Young World by Chris Weitz, and I have finished the book. This book is very similar to the TV show Scooby Doo because, in my book teens are trying to find the cure to the disease that only the adults got. Same thing but instead in Scooby Doo they are teens who are trying to solve problems to save their community. Therefore the book the young world is very similar to Scooby Doo but their problems they are trying to solve is slightly differ from each other.
@charpe5
That book sounds amazing
@mcolton
I have heard of that book
I am currently reading Book 1 of the Michael Vey series by Richard Paul Evans and I am on page 138. A book that is similar to this is the Maximum Ride series. The Maximum Ride series includes an experiment including two mutated children with angel wings. The Michael Vey series because Michael Vey has special powers which is controlling electricity. Both of these series of books are alike because they both have main characters with mutated or unique powers that aren’t seen in everyday life. Another similarity they have is that they both fall under the Sci-Fi genre.
ISwarts4 I've been wanting to read the series!
mncolton2 Good book.
i am on page 214 and my book is geralds game by steven king .my book is not like any movie or other book that i have seen.my book is a really interesting.
mdinh6
i have never herd of your book .i have heard that maximum ride is good but i never did get to reading it.
mncolton2
i have not seen any of james pattersons books but i heard that it is simuler to steven king.is that true.
I am reading George Orwell's 1984 i am done with this book. This book has a similar connection to a book that i read called a brave new world. In both books a distopian future is present along with the injustices of the new world. This book is still very different from any other book that i have ever read in my life span of being able to read from my adolescence of now. I recommend this book a solid 9/10.
@ddaniels4 i liked this book too.
I like Stephen King @shughes6
The Michael Vey Series is amazing! I have read all the books so far.
I have finished my book Believe by Eric LeGrand. My book is similar to the movie Karate Kid. It shows me however many times you get knocked down you should always get right back up. In my story Eric get paralyzed in a football accident and still tries to play. In the movie Karate Kid Dre gets bullied in China and he learns kung foo and battles the person who bullied him and he won.

@shughes6 Great response.
I am reading a book called Eight Keys by Suzanne LaFleur and I'm on page 320. My book is similar to a movie that I watched. In my book, Elise(the main character), looses her best friend, because of an incident that happened in school. In the movie that I watched, the main character also lost her best friend, but it didn't happen because of an incident in school. The main character in the movie's friend moved across the country.
@Abennett6 I have seen that movie too.
@DDaniels4 That sounds like a cool book.
@DDaniels4 your book sounds great.
I am currently reading "The Martian" by Andy Weir and am on page 404. I think the book is very similar to the movie. It is almost exactly like the movie in fact. Everything that happened in the book happened in movie. They even got the timing right on point for most things. Like when he blew up in the movie, it was 2 seconds after he created the water just like in the book.
@DDaniels4
Your book sound like a really cool book to read.
mncolton2
I love Batman. That sounds like a really interesting book.
I'm reading Alex Rider Crocodile Tears By Anthony Horowitz on page 39. This Book reminds me of A James Bond movie because Alex Rider is a teen super spy looking to stop a con artist from creating a big catastrophe. This reminds me of a James Bond movie because they are both spy's or agents looking to stop villains. Both Alex Rider and James Bond need to stop villains from a sort of thing. If they don't the consequences will affect either them or others.
ISwarts4: That was a good movie too
MDihn6: That was a great series
I never got into the Warriors series.
The book I am currently reading is The Island of Dr. Libris by Chris Grabenstein, and I am currently on page 6. This book is not similiar to any other book I have read, because I have never read a book that is about reading books. This is not like a movie that I have seen because if this book was a movie I don't think I would be interested in it. This book is similar to some books I have read because I have read something by this author before. This book may be similar to movies I have watched before because some movies have characters who read a book and this book has a character reading a book.
@mwaters1 James Bond is a good movie.
@ Abennett Karate Kid is a funny movie.
I'm reading book The Neptune Challenge by Polly Holyoke and I'm on page 142. If I really need to find a book that is similar to The Neptune Project, I would say it is the book Hunger Games. They are similar because The Neptune Project is also about a girl surviving, but it is different because this story takes place in the sea. There are many situation that they need to overcome and they have many times that they need to risk their life. If this book comes out into a movie I would be really surprised and it would e awesome.
@DDaniels4 Your book sound like a really cool book to read.
@mncolton2 Great I love batman too
I am reading Ender's game and it is similar to a book called the Giver. They both have weird towns that have weird rules.
@ hkim5
that book sounds really boring,
@JFox4
that book looks good i have heard of it, I might read it.
The book that I am reading is Mark of the Thief by Jennifer A. Nielson and I am on page 260. This book reminds of The False Prince. They were both made by the same author. Plus, they both have a lot of suspense. There is always something that will catch you off guard after every page.
The book I am reading is called "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" by J.K Rowling and I am on page 20. This book is similar to my previous book, "Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth". It is similar because both books are fiction so they have some of the same qualities. For example in my current book the main protagonist is a wizard and in my previous book he is a demigod, so both protagonist are things that are not real. Also both are different from the regular groups they fit in Harry is a wizard who survived the deadliest wizard, while Percy is different because he is the child of the three most powerful gods. This is how my current book is similar to the last.
@zsbergman4 George Orwell is a great author I enjoyed some of his books.
@hkim5 That sounds like a great book I liked 'The Hunger Games' so maybe I would like that one.
sthakor1
I had to read that book in 7th grade it's a really nice book.
J Sherrod
I agree I have read both of them.
I am currently reading You Have a Brain by Ben Carson, I am on page 193. This book is very similar to another book Ben Carson wrote called Gifted Hands. They are very similar because he wrote a lot of the same story’s growing up as a kid. They are both telling the story of his life. You Have a Brain goes a little more in detail because it is longer. Also gifted hand was inspiring as was you have a brain but the book I’m reading now is for teen so he like tell you some of the problems he had growing up and how he got over them.
sthakor1 I love that book.
jroach5 that is a good book.
I’m reading “The Fellowship of the Ring,” the first book in “The Lord of the Rings” series by J.R.R Tolkien, and I’m on page 54. The book is extremely slow and confusing, but I’m relying on my dad who said it is good. I’m not that into the book yet so I can’t tell if it’s like anything I’ve recently watched or read. Though there was a book I attempted to read recently, (I forget what it was called,) and it was also extremely slow and I gave up on it pretty quickly. So the book I’m reading is not really like anything I’ve read recently, yet.
@Abennett6 your book sounds really inspiring!
@sthakor1 I love both those books and I agree with the similarities.
My book is called Were World: Nest of serpents by Curtis Jobling. I am currently on page 60 and if I could compare this book to anything it would only compare to a book called Narnia: The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe. The plot isn't exact but both are of the fantasy genre and they both consist of magic, animals or anything that isn't in a typical fantasy book. These genres I would like to the the Fantasy-Fantasy genre.
The book i'm reading is called dork diaries #7 tales from a not so glam TV star written by Rachel Renee Russel my current page is 29. This book is like the movies mean girls that i have watched. Like how her backstage passes were stolen by the mean girl Mackenzie. the movie is like the book because the mean girl stole the other girls purse and her photo book.
@cmitchell1 I've seen the movie to that book but I would assume the book is probably better.
JFox4
i want to read that book it seems cool
I just finished reading The Eighth Day by Dianne K. Salerni. The book as a whole, reminds me of a similar movie or movies. Since The Eighth Day talks about time and how some people in the story wants to change time, some movies have a similar theme. One movie titled, “Project Almanac” is a movie about a boy and his high school friends that make a time machine and do all the things they want to do, but the catch is, you have to travel with the same amount of people you first went in with. Just like the Eight Day, the two boys think it’s fun at first to do the things others can’t. But, always something has to go wrong. So, the book as a whole, reminds me of a movie.
@sthakor1 I liked the Harry Potter series but never got around to reading Percy Jackson.
My book is “In a Heartbeat” by Kendal Lord and I’m finished with my book. My book is similar to the book and the movie called “The Fault in Our Stars.” My book is similar to “The Fault in Our Stars” because a girl has a big problem with her health and may not live. So a kind boy comes out of nowhere and has her back and side, to help her get through whatever she’s going through. In my book a stranger appears and becomes best friends with the girl in need of help. Both stories “In a Heartbeat” and “The Fault in Our Starts” relate in many ways, with little differences.
twaldon1 I read a part of that series.
The book that I am reading is “Spirit Animals: Hunted” by Maggie Stiefvater. I am currently on page 88. This book is similar to The Golden Compass, because in both the book and movie they have animals that follow them around, protect them, and are basically half of the soul that makes up humans. Since they are so well connected when one dies it is hard for the other to recover. When fighting a war, these animals and humans don’t have to speak to each other because they can watch and read the others movement to know what to do, or what they are going to do. Also both the movie and book are similar in the way that people want to take away their animals do to jealousy.
gdummett1 I watched Narnia before.
@sthakor1 Great job
@mcline1 I love it.
The book I am reading is called Blood Red Horse by K.M Grant, I am currently on page 10 because I just got this book yesterday. But so far this book is like a movie I have read which is called Love Me Harder this book reminds me of this movie because it is very emotional basically about love and romance.
Anonymous hhershkowitz1 \
your book sounds really interesting and i cant wait to read that book because it sounds so good.
Anonymous DBecker4
The story you are reading may be something i want to read because its one of a kind so their may not be another book like that.
The book that I am now reading is called The Rivalry by John Feinstein. I am on page 4. From what i read my book reminds me of a movie. The movie was about rivalry teams. It was the last game and they had two hours until they played. In my book they have three hours until they played.
Ive just finished my book, "The Cannibals", by Iain Lawrence. On page 228. This book was very similar to "The Lord of the Flies", because of its setting a tone. It's both placed on a marooned island full of ship-wrecked kids. Much like this story, it has an open ending.
the book I finished reading is sao alzination beginning by reki kowahara. ways I would compare this book to movies is well what takes place in it romance,action,adventure ect. in most movies nowadays the story s based on a main concept like horror or comedy for example this book holds a lot of those same features that are in movies love,lose, regret,pain,ect.
The book Th Raft i was reading was written by S.A. Bodeen. This book reminded me a little of the movie The life of Pi. They are both strranded in the ocean for a long period of time, tehy both struggle to survive, and they both almost lose hope and give up.Theyboth were very intresting and good story lines and i enjoed them.
@rpollock2
Sound's like a good book.
DBeaver2 that sounds interesting
Ddaniels4 sounds interesting.
swilliamson2 that sounds interesting
I just started reading the book called Pretty Ugly by Karyn Langhorne Folan and I'm on page 5.So far this book is similar to my last book I read Promises to Keep by Paul Langan.These to books are similar because they both have a Protagonist and Antagonist in the story. In the book I'm reading now the Antagonist is Vanessa because she is bullying this girl name Angel. Jamee Wills is the Protagonist because she is teaching Angel how to stand up to the bullies. In my last book Tyray was an Antagonist and Darrell was an Protagonist. Tyray was a bully just like Vanessa.
Dbeaver2 sounded like a good book
I just finished reading Hoot by Carl Hiaasen. This book is really similar to a lot of books i've read because the theme is pretty much the same. The theme of the book is to never give up on what you believe in. Some books that i've read that remind me of Hoot is The Maze Runner and The Giver because they both have characters that never give up. I really enjoyed this book.
Anonymous hhershkowitz1
I've read that book andd seen that movie and i agree with you, they're kinda similar.
Why were both the book and movie interesting to you @swillaimson2
@swilliams2
That story seems very similar to mine.
@jfox4 Seems like a good book.
Sounds like a great book! @DBeaver2
msmith2
Ive read The Maze Runner and Hoot and i agree with you about the themes being similar.
The story that I am doing is, "Wenny Has Wings" by Janet Lee Carey. I have already finished this book. There really is no story or movie that is similar to this book. "Wenny Has wings" is written in letter form as if the main character is writing messages to his deceased sister. I know that there are stories written as if it was a diary. However, those books are not as good as this story. In my opinion, no story or movie can show the true bond of family like this book.
@swilliamson I've wanted to read that book.
The book I was reading a while back this year was "Chomp" by Carl Hiassen.Im also finished with that book. But while I was reading it I seemed to realize that it was similar to the book I read in 6th grade called "Lost in the River of Grass" by Ginny Rorby. They are similar because they both have the same setting which is they takeplace in the Florida Everglades. They also have a girl and a boy as a main character in these two books.
The book I am currently read is called “Matched” by Ally Condie, and I recently just finished the book. This book is not very similar as a whole but little aspects reminded me of other books and movies I have seen, and read. The fact that their society picks their future for them, reminds me a lot of the book called “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. This reminds me so much of “The Giver” because it shows that they are not entitled to choose their own life; and just like “The Giver” the main character goes against the society and their rules. The aspect of their government being the ones to deicided their life also reminds me a little bit of the book called “Legend” by Marie Lu. In both books the main thing they are going against is society and their Government because they find out new information that changes their opinion.
@DBeaver2 "The Cannibals" sounds like a lovely book.
@jtrumpy02 Horror books are nice.
msmith2
"Hoot" is one of my favorite books of all time.
swilliamson2
"Raft" is a great story, also one of my favorites. I can see why it got an award.
The book that I just finished was called “The Bridge from Me to You” by Lisa Schroeder. If I would choose a movie to compare this book to, it would be “27 Dresses”. I would compare it to that movie because in the movie, Katherine Heigl basically tried ignore the man that tried to get her attention (James Marsden), while in the book , Colby tried to ignore Lisa when she was trying to get his attention. It’s like Katherine and Lisa switched roles in character. The movie and book kind of has the same problem… one person likes the other, but “the other” person ignores their romantic love.I really like both, the book and the movie because they an really relate in a lot of ways.
@msmith2
I just read that book too and I think it is a good book.
Sounds like his books are interesting. @ shoulihan1
Sounds like a cool book! @mwaters1
@Swilliamson2
I loved the movie the Life of PI.
I have just finished reading "Four" by Veronica Roth. It is not like any other story I've ever read. It has a more serious tone then I expected. Like when Four was getting beat by his dad. It is a truly interesting book.
mwaters1
Sounds like a good book
jbruce2
Sounds interesting
I read the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and I finished it.A movie that is similar to my book is The Divergent series.I think they are similar because the are both full of action and suspense.The book and the movie both have to do with the capitol or the leaders trapping everyone that lives in the nation.The Hunger Games is also a movie and its the same thing as the book except for a couple small differences.
@arobinson2
Sounds like a good book.
I am currently reading Blood is thicker by Paul Langan & D.M. Blackwell and I am on page 12. This book is like all of the other Bluford book. This book is like all of the other Bluford books because they use the same names for some of the book. For example Darcy, Tarah, Cooper, and Hakeem. It also reminds me of the other book because they all start off with the main situation in the book, like in Promises to keep it starts off with Tyray getting home after almost shooting someone. And in Blood is thicker it starts off with Hakeem and his family moving.
@ecastillo2
Sounds interesting.
The book im currently reading is called The City of Ember, by Jeanne DuPrau. I’m on page 196. This book reminds me of the show, The 100. The 100 is about a hundred teens who are sent to Earth to see if t habitable after a radio-active explosion. They are running out of food, and have no supplies. The city of Ember is a secret city, hidden from the world and they are running out of power and everything they need to survive. In both situations they have to find out how to get out of where they are to survive. The adventure has strong consequences in both circumstances.
@ drivera4 that was a good comparison.
I am reading Blindsided by Priscilla Cummings and I am on page 4. This book is like "The Beggar King and the Secret to Happiness" by Joel Ben Izzy. Both of the stories involve the main character loosing something they need. In Blindsided, Natalie looses her sight. In the other story, Joel looses his voice. Also in both, they loose it through a disease.
@ arobinson2 good comparison!
@kgardiner4 That sounds like an interesting book.
@drivera4 That's an accurate comparison.
I have not started my book yet, but I have heard about it. The story that I think it resembles is a story about a girl getting kidnapped. I have never read a book or watched that resembles this book, but I have heard of movies and books like it. The title of my book is bone gap and i am on page 0 because i have only read the description, the author of the book is Laura Ruby.
brivera4
good connection.
The book I am reading is called Shooter.I have not started reading it but if I had to think about what movie it would be like, I would have to say Shooter the movie.The only reason i say this is because they have the same name, And i predict they have kindve the same central story.
I read Game World by C.J. Farley and I am finished with it. A movie that would be similar would be a movie about people who found a portal to another dimension and went to explore. They then got stuck and have to go on a long adventure to find a way out of the portal. On their adventure they have to fight strange creatures. They will go through a lot but in the end, everything will be back to normal.
kgardiner4
Very creative.
Kindve? Sharriett4
The name of my book is Nazi Hunters by Neal Bascomb and I'm on page 123. This book does not remind me of any other book I've ever read before. This book is very unique in the way it's written, later on in the book it combines facts with a stories. Not of is the writing different that what I read but the history in it is unique as well.
This by far the most different book I've ever read.
Sounds like it will be interesting.erowland4
I just finished reading the book, “We Were Liars” by E. Lockhart. At the beginning of the book, the story seemed similar to a few other stories I have read. To be specific, the part of the book when the author first introduces the families’ private island reminded me of a scene from the movie “Adore”. However, as the story line progressed, it became very confusing and difficult to understand. I don’t think I can compare it to any other book I’ve read due to the originality and complexity of the storyline. This book was really interesting and entertaining to read.
The book I am curentley reading is A series of Unfortunate Events the author is Lemony Snicket and I am on page 17. I have read some of these books before and I would say that there is not a movie or another book like these books because the things that go on and how the books begin are very unique to me. How the author describes the characters or the setting in the book is not how any other book i have read began the way these do.
@ ischleissing4
That book sounds interesting.
@erowland4
I hope you enjoy that book.
I finished The 39 Clues. I forgot the author. There aren't any movies i could think about. There is some books like Infinity Ring. They have a series of books and is
like 39 clues.
bbachman4
Sounds like a unanimous book.
mscott2
Very interesting.
I recently finished the book “Binge” by Tyler Oakley. This book was an autobiography-type book. It was structured as different important parts in his life and stories. Along with these autobiographic features in the book, there was plenty of humor and meaning behind everything he put into his book. He takes a spin on serious topics and makes them more approachable; such as when he was struggling with an eating disorder. He talked about how his phone lock screen has been a picture of orange chicken ever since he started getting help when he was young, so he learns to live with and face his biggest obstacles. This book strongly reminds me of two others. These two other novels are, quite ironically, also written by popular content creators on YouTube. These two books are called “My drunk Kitchen” by Hannah Hart and “A Work In Progress” by Connor Franta. Both tie in important messages with a humorous and biographical theme.
@ ischleissing4
That sounds like a good book.
chodges6
That is a very complex book, I enjoyed it a lot.
The book I have just finished is Ranger's Apprentice's book 2 the burning bridge. I have read the first book which was similar to the second considering they are the same series written by the the same author John Flangan. I know not of any book in the series being turned into a movies. Other than that my book has been very interesting and intense.My book has been this way because it has action moments in the story like in the end of the book when they defeated Morgorath.
I just finished reading the book a long walk to water by Linda Sue Park. I personally think that this book is very unique. I have yet to find something like it. Both the characters have very good story and overcome more then anybody could imagine.
Bbachman4
I like your blog, well done.
rparent5
Good Response.
I am currently reading "Heat" by Mike Lupica and I'm on page 15. Michael Arroyyo is my main character. Michael Arroyo grows up in the shadows of Yankee Stadium. I watched this movie that connects with my main character because that movie had a main character that looked up to football and Michael is looking up on a sport that he loves. They both look up to a stadium that they love.
nlabender5 Nice book.
The book I have reed was Hero by Mike Lupica and I am done with the book. The book reminds me of the book Percy Jackson because both main characters dads have powers that are passed on to them and both dads don’t let theirs sons know much about them. Both books have other people attack the main character to get revenge on their family for something the parents did in the past. In the book Hero the main character Zach has people help him throughout the book with controlling his powers just like Percy Jackson. In the movie Percy Jackson he had friends help him learn how to use his powers that Poseidon gave him.
chodges6 That is awesome.
@gazam5 I am also reading that book, I hope it is a good book. #bookclub #Heat
GKloeppel5 That is so cool. OMG!!!
I finished reading "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio. This book is like another book i read, "Out of My Mind" by Sharon Draper. It was also about a person with disabilities. The main characters both overcame their difficulties and made friends. It is also about them going to school.
@nlabender5 that book sounds like it has action, seems like a book I would read.
GKloeppel5 That book sounds good.
esmith5 I love the author!!!
I just finished The Maze Runner by James Dasher. This book is similar to the movie the Maze Runner because it is pretty much a movie version of the book. In the movie he had to run the maze like the book and he also escaped like the book. But in the book it gives you more details about the glades and what he had to go though it also had some things that wasn’t in the movie like the blood house which is where they killed animals to eat. But I liked the movie better than the book just because you don’t have to read is I like visual things.
@ajoseph5 That book seems like a good book and probably has a pretty deep theme.
I am reading Cured by Bethany Wiggins I am on page 2. The book I am reading isn't like any movie I have ever seen. The book has some ideas from different genres of movies. But no one movie could compare to it. This book is great, it's like a comedy action with cool characters.
@GKloeppel5 The book that you reference to that is like one of my favorite books and movies.
ale2 that sounds like a good book.
gkloeppel5 that is a good book.
The book that i recently finished is Code Of Honor By Alan Gratz. This book reminds me of his other book Prisoner. They are similar because they are both about surviving something difficult in their lives. In Code Of Honor, the main character Kamron had to survive everyone thinking that he was a terrorist because of his race. In Prisoner the main character Yanek had to survive the holocaust. They both went through some difficult times in their lives. They fortunately survived.
The current book I am reading is named,"This World We Live In" by Susan Beth Pfeffer and I am on page 15 since I just got it. Thinking of my book as a whole, it is similar to many books and movies I've seen. They're all apocalyptic in a sense since this book revolves around how a family survives after the moon was hit by an asteroid causing a stronger gravitational pull causing tidal waves, volcanoes, ash covering the sky, and so much more. Not to mention, this is the sequel to the first book of this happening making things even worse or for the better, I don't know yet. So you could compare this book to any book/movie that revolves around an apocalypse.
I just finished Grace Gold and Glory by Gabby Douglas. It was made into a movie. It is also like the movie Stick it. In the book Gabby Douglas talked about her practicing and competing. In the movie Stick it you saw them practicing and competing. They both showed them scared and nervous.
@jniademarco6
That sounds interesting.
@ale2 that sounds like a good book.
@arodriguez6 Seems he was a "prisoner" to his "code of honor".
@ajoseph5 your book sounds interesting.
@Lperkins6
Shes a good gymnast, i heard of her.
@ale2 The books of stories are always better than the movies.
I finished reading "Zoo The Modern Ark". The author is Jake Page. This book is similar to alot of book that I have read. Most of the books have information on animals and how they survive. I like to get informational books because I can learn from them about certain things.
GMaran6 nice book
The book I'm currently reading is The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson and I'm on page 221. The book is unlike any other books or movies I've seen before. It's story line and plot of wild chalklings and predator rithmatist are really unique. The whole concept of warrior/fighter chalk drawings that come alive is distinctive from the usual fantasy genre. On page 190 it says, "A Line of Forbiddance only does one thing. You draw it, and it sits there. Chalklings though...they're versatile. They have a life of their own. If you don't build them correctly, they won't be able to do what they're supposed to." The idea of alive drawings that only those gifted can create, is a new concept. Rithmatists and their drawing guides and lines, it's a different story, making the book just as different and unique. It's the first of its kind to my knowledge, and the only thing that I could compare the book to is any movie or book that has a new story or idea that's unheard of before.
arodriguez6 interesting book.
The book I'm reading is The Night Gardener by Jonathan Auxier, it's a Sunshine State book. I'm on page 130. This book is similar to a horror movie because early in the book it posts a threatening setting that the two main characters can't escape from. It also gives an antagonist that we don't know anything about, but seems to have full access to the protagonists' lives. The adults in the town even seem to be afraid of whatever is haunting the property.
@awhitfield4 what is a Bluford book
@shoulihan1 isnt that a political candidate
I just recently finished Harry Potter The Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling.
This book is not like any other story/movie I've seen. This novel contains wizards, witches, goblins, etc. The way the author wrote this book, and made the movies, makes it seem like all the fiction and fairy tales are real. An example of this is when Harry first found out he was a wizard. Harry thought he was just a simple human being. But when Hagrid (a wizard) came to tell him he's been accepted into Hogwarts, made it seem that wizards and witches were real and any human could be one. All the adventures sin the novel are exciting and difficult. For example, when Harry found The Mirror of Erised it showed him his family. When he was told to never go and search for it ever again he was devastated. That was the only thing that he had to see his parents and that was really difficult to let go since they died when he was just a baby.
@esmith5 I've been meaning to read that book, is it as good as people say?
@kgardiner4 I never thought of it that way, but now that I have, the two are pretty similar.
@ale2 That seems like a good book
@lperkins6 That book seems really interesting
I am reading Animal Farm by George Orwell.I am on page 77. My book isn't very similar to any book any book I have read before.Nor is it similar to any movie i have seen. i don't really know what else to say about my book and movies similar I am just trying to reach my sentence limit. Tanks for reading.
cwright6 interesting book.
@lperkins6 interesting book.
The book I am reading is The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. Even though I have not seen a show or movie like my book, like when in a conflict it can be related back to not having their love tank being full. In my book it states that not having one's love tank full at a young age can affect their adult life like when they clash with the law or try to find love in wrong places. In marriage, if your love tank is not full it can lead to divorce or lots of fights in your relationship. Try to learn your lovers love languages and you will have a long loving relationship.
cwright6 I have read Harry Potter. It was a good series
arodriguez 6 Sounds like a good book.
The book that I have recently read is Flush by Carl Hiaasen and (obviously if you have read my other posts) that I am finished with the book. This book is an interesting case when it comes to other books; because I could only compare it to other Carl Hiaasen books like Hoot, Chomp, and Scat. All of them have similar plots, in that the Antagonists are doing and know they are doing something to harm the environment and it is up to the Main Characters to stop them. Another comparison is that all of the stories show very well the bond between families and how they deal with situations, especially problems like this one.
Carl Hiaasen is one of the most unique writers I’ve heard of in a long time, and you should definitely read one of his books.
@GMaran6 You just definitely got me interested in a book.
@svhernandes6 That book definitely got me intrigued.
I am currently reading Jungle of Bones by Ben Mikaelsan. I am on page 5. This book is similar to the show Lost. It is similar because first of all the setting in some parts of the book is in an exotic jungle. The book also showcases a plane crash. So far this book is slow but some parts are interesting.
arossi2 That book sounds like a really good book.
mcline1 I would read that book.
I was reading "Cosmic", by Frank Cottreli Boyce, but I just recently finished it. In the book a lot of interesting stuff happens (kids getting sent to space) but it doesn't really reassemble any books or films. (Spoiler Alert) The main character is really tall gets mistook as an adult a lot, and he goes into space with other children. The kids start to slap each other around, but then in zero-g you can't fool around like that because *OOPS!* they break the ship. Then the kid geniuses have to go and make a blind landing in a bus that's been retro-fitted as a tour-rocket and they survive, but everyone thinks they're dead and no-one comes to look for them and blah-blah-blah, they all live happily ever after. No movie really is similar at all to that, right? It also doesn't represent any other book that I've read, have you read another book that sounds like this? I think not. All in all, it is a very unique and interesting book, great read, recommend it to anyone who likes funny stories. Lots of humor.
@dgross4
I tried reading that book but didn't get past the second chapter. I hope you like it better than I did.
@cwright6
I really liked that series, hope you like it too.
The book I recently finished was Ark Angel by Anthony Horowitz. This book reminded me of the movie Gravity. This is because both main characters are abandoned in space and have to survive. In Ark Angel, Alex, the main character, has the blow up a space ship and has to bring himself back down to Earth. In Gravity, Dr. Ryan Stone is repairing a satellite, when meteorites crash into it knocking her into space. Eventually she makes it back to Earth, just like Alex.
@dgross4
I enjoy reading those types of stories.
@cwirght6
I remember reading that book, and it was great.
The book that I am reading is called Sisters by Raina Telgemeier and I am done with my book. I dont think there are any movies or books that are like this book. Because this book is so unique i couldn't find any ohter like it. Im sure there is a book or a movie I haven't read some where out there that i haven't read. But it was a good book!
@lbaker4
Sounds intresting!
@cwright6
I think I read a book like that.
The book i just started is called The Siren bye Kiera Cass and im on page 14. This book is very similar to some of the mermaid or siren shows you would watch as a child. They are similar because as a mermaid you cant reveal to anyone your mermaid. And your not aloud to talk to humans. But they do. And they fall in love when mermaids and humans cant be in love.
LBaker4 sounds like interesting books or movies
Cwright6 ive heard of those books before.
The book I’m reading is Flawless by Sara Shepard and I’m on page 76. A show I’ve see that’s like this is Pretty Little Liars. The show is based off the books but they don’t always follow the same story line. In my opinion the show is so much better than the books because they’re more dramatic which I find more interesting. But I wish something’s from the books were there too
cwright6 thats a good book.
Lperkins6 that sounds like a great book.
I am reading the book winter by Marisa myer and I am on page 13 I have never watched a movie like the book I am reading. My book is about a cyborg girl who comes with her emperor and infiltrates a enemy base. But this isn't a normal mission. She has to rescue a friend and over throw a more tecnilogical empire with a queen as a dictator . This queen also has very advance security and nothing will stop her. She will kill anyone for the most simplest things that barely help what she is after for
Dbecker4 good book
Iswarts4 good book
page 311 "Smoked" by Mari Mancusi
This book and the series it is from really reminds me of the Eragon series. This is because of the uncanny similarities between the dragons in both books, both can use telepathy, to a certain extent, both are highly persecuted, and both are "bonded" with a person. Another similarity is that both groups of protagonists in these two series are very loosely held together as both tension and deaths are common.
The book the giver is unlike any other book I read. The reason why is because no one young ever dies. Also the father of the main character is not a killer. This feature doesn't take away from the great book the Giver, this only adds the amazing story. I just got finished with the giver pg. 179.
cpreston2
Sounds like a great book and an interesting book.
Aberryman5
Your book seems very interesting.
I am currently reading Believe The Victorious Story Of Eric Legrand.I just started but what I've read in the five pages is that his story is very similar to one of my favorite basketball players.Kevin Durant he came from a very poor background and all he had to help him and to support him were his friends and family.Also everyone told him that he couldn't do it that he wasn't good enough but he showed them because he starts as a small forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder.Such as Eric Kevin Durant never gave up and that Is why they prevailed.
@efreeman5
I've read that book a lot and it teaches you very good life lessons.
@aberryman5 I've always wondered what that book was about.
I'm reading A Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen, I'm on page 15. My book is similar to the movie Billion Dollar Arm. The characters seem to strugjle in the beginning both stories. They don't know if they're going to make it on a team. Then in the end they both get signed to major baseball teams.
@Cnelson2
Good job!
@efreeman5
That's great!
I am currently reading Two Summers by Aimee Freidman and I am on page 12. I have just started reading this book and so far it is not like any other book I've read or any Movie I've watched. I'm sure that the further I read, the more it will seem like another book or movie. Hopefully at least a few details like names or places will relate to other pieces of literature.
sclark5
I have read books by Sara as well and they are all good.
