I am reading Hoot by Carl Hiaasen and it is a lot like the book I just read, Scat. I am on page 43. The story is set in South Florida and involves a protected species of owls. Just like in Scat, the owls are being threatened by development--in this case a pancake house. There is an eco-avenger who is a runaway boy and he is sabotaging the construction site in an effort to save the owls. He partners with the main character in the book, Roy.

@Aberryman5 I hope you are enjoying that book.

the story i was reading was Diary of a wimpy kid Rodrick rules and the story to me is similar to me and my brothers how we don't really get along always fighting. it's similar because there parent always have to separate them from each other and that's what my mother do with me and my brothers too keep us from fighting. i am currently done with the story and the author is Jeff Kinney.

I am reading the book Percy Jackson and the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan and I am on page 312. My book series has been made into two movies and they plan on making more. My book reminds me if the movies that were based on the book. My book also reminds me of Scooby-Doo because in that show they try to catch all kinds of creatures. About half of the monsters that Scooby-Doo has caught Percy and his friends have defeated as well.

@zberroa1 I read all of the Diary of a wimpy kid in 4th grade. I liked them

@Chon5 that's cool that your story is set in Florida.

I am currently reading The possibility of now, By: Kim Culbertson, and I'm on page 0 because i just got the book a few minutes ago. From what I have read on the back of the book, this book is somewhat similar to some of the recent books ia have. In my current book the main character is stressed out about school, and I've read may books where my main character is stressed out about school.

the book I have just finished reading is No Time To Die by Elizabeth Chandler. it is similar to another book by the same author, Soulmates. it's similar because both books have a main character targeted by an evil murderer. not only that, but both books have an artist character and a love interest. there are many other reasons but those are the main ones.

sbell4 said...

@dnazario2 it's always good to have a unique book. it sounds very good!

sbell4 said...

@LBaker4 very good comparison. I might read that book

I am reading Travel Team by Mike Lupica and I am on page 8. I started reading this book and it is not like any other book or movie that I know of. It would come sooner or later while I am reading this book. It is about basketball, but I have no other book or movie in mind. It’s also about kids trying to achieve their dreams.

mbradford4 said...

Sbell4 I might read that book. Sounds very good!

Cscott1 LOVE the Percy Jackson series! Wanted to read that book.

I'm reading Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson and I'm currently on page 91. The only other book or movie I've seen that has things in common with Steelheart is Maximum ride. They both involve a small group or pack of people who are going against the atagonists of the story in hopes to save the innocent or corrupt government. The only other thing that seems to be involved in both books is the supernatural aspect. Besides that it doesn't really have anything in common with what i've read or seen.

blyncker5 said...

@LBaker4 Nicely said. Might decide to read the book.

@Chon5 I've read both and they are very common.

The book i am currently reading is called i don't know how this story ends, by J.B Cheaney and i'm on page 5. This book is similar to another book i have read. They both have deep titles, that get you trying to figure out what they're talking about. Thy're both about one little girl, who goes throughout the story being very adventurous. My last book i read definitely was interesting.

lthigpin6 said...

sbell4 i'd love to read your book!

zberroa1 i feel like iv'e read your book before but i can't remember... sounds interesting though!

I have finished reading "Enders Game" by Orson Scott Card. Enders game has a lot of things that are similar in other books. One of these being the setting of the book which is in a futuristic setting. Another part that is similar is that in this book the main character has to use skills he has to stay alive.

I am currently reading Percy Jackson battle of the labyrinth. I am currently on page 23. so far it is like all the other Percy Jackson books I've read. but its not like any movie I've ever seen. Hopefully They Let Grover Keep His Searchers License

This is redo I am currently reading Percy Jackson battle of the labyrinth. I am currently on page 23. so far it is like all the other Percy Jackson books I've read. but its not like any movie I've ever seen. So far in the book starts With A description of what they are doing. Hopefully They Let Grover Keep His Searchers License so that he can keep searching for the "Wild"God and he can prove he is still alive.

@blyncker5 steelhart is a good book. I've read it before.

I am currently reading 39 Clues by Rick Roidan, and I am on the 23 page. One story or movie my book can relate to is Dead pool. My book can relate to Dead pool because they both have protagonist who is fighting for what is right but does it in a bad way. They destroy and hurt a lot of people during there pursuit of justice. Although they are fighting for a good cause, they do what they want and they don't care about anything else.

jhardy5 said...

@ryassin4
I love Percy Jackson

@nvance5
that sounds like a great book

I am currently reading the story Unstoppable by Tim green it started off weird. I'm on page 29 at the end of chapter 6. this book is similar to a movie called blind side because in the movie he got adopted just like Harrison did in the book. They both have some similarities because they both lived on the streets and neither of them had a stable home life until they were adopted.

I’m reading Alliance by Mark Frost and I’m on page 253. I don’t think it’s similar to any movies or books I’ve seen or at least I don’t think so. I don’t know what else to put so. Ok…

I finished reading "The 100" by Kass Morgan. I can't really think of any movies or books that are similar. Anything that involves a group of people trying to survive can be similar to "The 100". Characters that betray each other can be related to "The 100". Books or movies with a corrupt system or government can be considered similar to "The 100".

ACardoza5 said...

@eoliver6 Nice comparison!

ACardoza5 said...

@Nvance5 That is true, I agree.

The book i am finished with is called Satch & Me and its not like the other books i have read or a movie i have watched. Its like interesting because its 2 people a kid and a old man and they are both traveling back in time to go and see who was the fastest baseball pitcher back in the days. It was amazing how they kept their friendship throughout the book because in some books people start to lose trust and friendship but they didn't they kept their friendship throughout the whole book. And the little boys mom let them go back in time i thought she was gonna be a little more strict because she is letting her son go back in time with a old man but over all it was a great book to read and it was different from all of the other books i have read.

daproctor5 said...

the book unstoppable sounds like a good book i might have to read that next time.

the book hoot sounds pretty good to read to !!

My book blood is thicker by Paul Lagan the current page I’m on is 24 is similar to my family, because my cousin had to move with us when her father got sick & they couldn’t pay for their house. And my cousin and I always used no fight and cuss at each other. But we had to realize blood is thicker than anything so we had to stop bumping head and come too together like the book so that’s how its similar too me.

dexterf said...

daproctor5 i like your book

ACardoza5 i read that before

The book I'm currently reading is Artemis Fowl: Opal Deception by Eoin Coffer and I'm done. After reading this book it's better than I expected, I thought it was going to be boring and dumb. The more I read the better the book got, now I want to read the series. Hopefully I can read all the books in the series.

@ACardoza5 The 100 sounds good

I've been reading the Diary of the Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney. And I've finally gotten the Diary of the Wimpy Kid Old School, and i think it's going to be good. All of the other books were good, so i thought this book would be good. If this book is good I'll read all the other books coming in the future.

I am reading I Am Number Four, by Pittacus Lore. I am on page number 430. This book is similar to Divergent. It has the same concept. With all the being different. Being killed for being different. They are both is some type of alternate universe. There both not realistic.

Nbrown said...

@Dgivens2, I love that book.

Nbrown said...

@Mcromarty2, That book sounds familiar.

I am reading "The Testing" by Joelle Charbonneau and I am on page 15. This book is similar to a book called "Stung". They are similar because the world is broken down and only a selected few get to have better lives.

ajgood6 said...

@Nbrown that book looks cool.

ajgood6 said...

@Ryassin4 that is a really good book. You won't regret reading it.

The name of the book that I am reading is called License to Spill I am on page 25 and the story is by author Lisi Harrison. This book is not like any story or movie that I've watched. I would kind of say that it is like a mystery story and you have to put together clues. This book also reminds me of crime shows because each of them have committed a crime and don't want anybody to find out because of the reputation that they have. This book always has you on the edge of your seat and makes you wonder what will happen next.

tmodican5 said...

@jhardy5
Seems like a really good book.

@dgivens
