I'm reading "The Cannibals" by Ian Lawrence. I'm currently on page 27 after reading this week. An event in this story is when a boy decides weather or not he wants to travel to the "New World" with his father. I would have chosen not to and to stay with his mother. I'd do this because that ship ends up blowing off course and troubles every body.

The book I'm currently reading is No Way Out by Peggy Kern, I'm on page 27.Harold's grandmother feel down and bruised her hip, and went to the hospital. Harold went crazy and started hanging around the wrong crowd. Harold started hanging around gangsters and selling drugs. If I were Harold I would have checked on my grandmother and payed attention to her. And instead of putting my emotions towards negative actions, I would have put them towards positive actions.

The book im reading is I am number 4 by Pittacus Lore. A recent event in my book was when the main character had one of his charms come in while he was in class. His hand almost caught on fire he became dizzy and had to rush into and empty room. He left his backpack in the classroom with his cell phone in it, so he could not call his guardian Henri. He was embarrassed, everyone stared as he left the school not knowing what really happened in that empty room.

I actually just got this book named Counting by 7s and it is by Holly Goldberg Sloan and I’m on page 3. So the main character is at an ice cream shop with her friends and they are gossiping. I actually can relate to this because this is like my everyday life. The girl seems to like her friends and she loves her ice cream. I would do great in this situation, I’ve lived this situation.

jdaies2 said...

@Nbrown i would have probably handled that the same way.

The solar calendar took into account the position of the sun in the day with the position of the stars at night and divided into 12 sections cycle of 30-31 days.

Then I began to use the solar calendar had 30 months to 31 days and that matched perfectly with the beginning and the end of the seasons.

People thought that if the stars could point the beginning of harvest time could also point to the fate of a person during his lifetime that started the astrology.

The title of my book is called The Hypnotists by Gordon Korman and I am on page 20. A recent event from my book was when the main character, Jax Opus, and his friend Tommy Cicerelli, were trying to get to basketball practice and were taking the city bus. With a lot of traffic. If I were them, I would have ran as fast as I could run.

I am reading Percy Jackson and the Titans Curse by Rick Riordan, and am on page 234. In my book Percy and his group of friends were trying to get to San Francisco and to get there they had to go through the Olympus junk yard. The Olympus junk yard is a junk yard filled with god’s things that they won in battle that they didn’t want or was cursed or was broken. You’re not supposed to take anything from the junk yard because the gods will get mad and send this huge giant after you. Can you guess what happened? Yep that’s right one of Percy’s group members took a little figurine from the junk yard and the huge giant that I was talking about came after her and killed her. I would have followed the gods orders and not taken anything. If she hadn’t taken anything she wouldn’t have died and would have helped the group instead of slowing them down mourning.

@drivera4 I have not read the Hunger Games books but I have seen all of the movies. I should probably look into reading them.

I'm currently reading Janet Lee Carey's book,"Wenny Has Wings". I'm on page 12. A recent event is the main character,Will and his little sister, Wenny, are involved in a car accident which ended it with Wenny dying. Yes, it is very tragic. If I were in Will's spot I'm sure I wouldn't have played in the road. Now I understand that it that it was a road that barely gets driven on. But, you still have to be caution.

@cscott1 I've always wanted to read Percy Jackson.

I am reading The Sea Of Trolls I am on page 124 and the author is Nancy Farmer. If I were in any situation in the book it would be when Jack and Lucy encounter monsters on the Northern Roman road on page 120. Since Lucy believes she is a lost princess she started yelling at them because she thought they were knights looking for her. If I were Jack I would have hold Lucy still and hold her mouth shut like Jack told her too. It would have been a better solution than being captured by the monsters.

I am reading a book called "Eight Keys", by Suzannne LaFleur and I'm on page 178. The big event that just occurred in my book is, Franklin (Elise's best friend) got suspended from school, because he took all the blame for putting shaving cream in another students lunchbox, when really they both did it. They went to the principal's office, and the principal asked Franklin if he did it and he said, yes. When she asked Elise if she did it, Elise said no and just let Franklin get suspended by himself. If I was in this position, I would have told the principal that I also helped with the shaving cream, because Franklin only got suspended for one day and I would rather go through that punishment than loose my best friend that I've know since I was born.

hhoward6 said...

@mscott2 I agree on that.

I'm currently reading The Omen of The Stars Warriors Night Whispers by Erin Hunter and I am currently on page 65. The big event that just occurred in this series was the battle between Shadowclan and Thunderclan over a piece of territory. This was caused by a fake dream Ivypaw told Firestar to start the battle. What I would've done before battle (Since I wouldn't know that it was a fake dream) was to try to stop the battle by talking reasonably to Firestar to see if it was really worth it to fight over such a barren piece of land. After the battle in the series, Firestar loses two lives. So if I managed to stop Firestar from starting the battle, he would still have those two lives.

The book I'm reading is The Neptune Project by Polly Holyoke and I'm now on 244. The current event that has happened is Kyle died when the Marine Guard attacked them and Nere became the next leader to help the team survive in the ocean. It was a hard decision for Nere because she didn’t know how to be a leader and she said that she doesn’t know how to lead others. Because of Kyle’s request she became the next leader. But if I was her I would be happy to lead them and help them survive in the ocean. I might not be a perfect leader but if others think I’m good enough I will try the best to be a good leader.

The book I am currently reading is Pennyroyal Academy by M.A. Larson and I'm on page 91. The most recent event that has happened was how the girl (later named Evie) got got trapped in the wicked forest then a witch comes after her, having the eyes of Medusa. Then she escapes into the river, where the witch can't go and escapes. She has been stuck in the forest for three days and ran away from home, forgetting her own identity. What I would have done in that situation would be the same thing as her, follow the guy into the river then swam to the other side so the woman wouldn't catch up to me.

I am currently reading Promises to keep by Paul Langan and I am on page 43. In my book Tyray confronted a boy who set him up, jumped him, and stole his money. The boy ended up having another by with him named James. James had come out of nowhere and hit Tyray in the ribs. If that was me I would have kept it peaceful and not try to fight the boy knowing what had happened before. Plus Tyray was already late going getting home so I would have just kept walking and try to ignore how upset or angry I felt because I knew if I was late getting home I would be in even more trouble!

My new book is called Prisoner B-3087, by Alan Gratz. I’m currently on page 21. The book is about a child who escaped a concentration camp. Recently the young boy’s family is taken by surprise when groups of German show up and begin creating a wall around his neighborhood. He and his family were to in shock to run, or do anything about it. So they stayed put. Worried and scared. If I was in this situation I would be completely freaked out, but most likely would have tried to run. Considering I would never have wanted to have my neighborhood surrounded by a wall, let alone be trapped in one of these camps.

The way Wyatt handled it was standing there and watching his friend get kidnapped and he didn't do anything about it. If I were in Wyatt's position I would at-least go get help for my friend.I do not think Wyatt reacted well because he watched his friend get kidnapped and he didn't do anything to stop it or to help his friend.

When Mei Kwan was with her best friend a little far away watching what was happening. If I was with them watching I would have probably asked his friends, Tristan Maloney, and Karrie Lopes what was happening between Asher and his mom or what he did this time.

Lizzie listened to what the police officer over the phone said, but she did it too seriously. In the process of playing dead, she transitioned into an Afterworld. The book I am currently reading is called Wonder by R.J. Palacio and I'm on page 35. Recently in the story August went for a tour of the first school he will ever be attending. However, since August was born with a facial deformity this journey will be difficult. So naturally his parents set up a tour of the school a couple months before it started. The principle picked three 'marvoulous' students, that he was sure would be extra nice to August, to give him a little tour. When Charlotte, Jack Will, and Julian were showing August the performance space Julian got a bit curious. Nothing August wasn't use to but it was still a bit blunt and hurtful. Julian asked, "What's the deal with your face? I mean, were you in a fire or something?" Right away Charlotte jumped to August's defence and so did Jack Will saying how rude that was. August said nothing. No responce, nothing. I honestly probably would have gone the whole other way with that. If you're blunt enough to ask someone about something that thay're clearly insecure about then you deserve a very blunt and rude answer in responce. I would have said something like 'No actually I was born like this thank you. Did your mother really raise you like that or are you really just that inconsiderate of other peoples feelings?'

However if I was there I would have been a little more open minded and independent. In this book there are just ethical mistakes for the most part, and inability to do something unless told to do so. Though one situation in particular I would have been smarter about is A; not trusting that guy who claims to be my father as much B; not taking a probably cursed amulet from the person who has tried to kill my friends (and many others)

I am currently reading the book “We Were Liars” by E. Lockhart. Not a lot of major events have happened so far in the book. However, in the beginning the main character, Quinn’s, dad left her and her mom and moved away. To deal with the whole situation, Quinn’s mom went a little bit crazy and started spending money excessively. She refurnished the entire house with expensive pieces, even buying Tiffany silverware. They had come from a rich family, so money wasn’t a problem, but Quinn does not see the value in “things”. I don’t think Quinn was too affected by the actions of her dad, but she decided to go stay on their family’s private island off the coast of Vermont to get a break from her crazy mom. If I were in this situation, I would probably handle it how Quinn handled it because getting away from everything would seem to be the most effective solution for my problems and I.

The book is "The Last 13 #6," and I finished the book, the author is James Phelan. A recent event in this book was Sam got captured. If I was in his situation, I wouldn't have gone into the cabin guessing it was a trap. After all that's where Hans would expect them to go. That is where Sam and Arianna were in the dream that Hans saw. So to get Arianna's dreams back, it's obvious they'd go to a cabin, so I would have tried to come up with a plan B.

the book I am reading is backlash by Sarah darer littlman and I am currently on page 63. a current event that is happening in my book is when Lara is spending her last day in the hospital before coming home after she tried to kill herself. her ex-bestfriend ( Bree )posted a picture on the Internet of her unconscious getting into the ambulance and Sydney, Lara's sister, has been taking to Liam, Bree's brother. if I were in that situation, I would probably be Sydney trying to get Liam to tell his sister to delete tho photo before Lara gets home to find it and have another reason to be upset. I would also try to keep her happy, even though she made Sydney miss her audition. I'd just try to make the situation good.

The book I'm reading is Perfectionists by Sara Shepard and I'm on page 56. When Julie decided not to take the hand writing test which would show she's guilty. I would have taken the test because then the police wouldn't suddenly look towards her. When she wrote on Nolans face she should have done something different as to not get herself arrested. That's what I'd do differently.

I am reading Scat by Carl Hiaasen and I am on page 76. A recent event is when the principal of the school went to Duane's house. At his house, only his dad was there and the principal was hesitant. He was hesitant because he was afraid of possibly getting sued if Duane got sick because he ate a pencil. If I were the principal, I would have warned his father about the pencil that he ate and the trouble that he got in with the teacher and what he had to do. Duane's punishment was that he had to write an essay.

I am reading Dead Girls Don’t Lie by Jennifer Wolf and I am on page 185. Rachel, Jaycee’s ex-best friend died in the beginning of the book to a drive by gang shooting. Jaycee found out that her boyfriend, Skyler’s mom is not only dead but she took her own life. She found the suicide note in her dad’s files for his clients. Jaycee’s father is the therapist that treated Skyler’s mom. Jaycee did not know if Skyler had ever seen the note and she decided not to tell him about it. If I were her I would’ve told Skylar that I found it because honesty is important in a relationship.

The book I'm reading is No Time to Die (Dark Secrets 2) by Elizabeth Chandler and I'm on page 43. A recent event that happened in my book is the main character's sister was murdered. So she went to the school her sister used to go to. The way I would've handled the situation is finding the killer any way I can. I wouldn't have given up until he was caught. Once I caught him, I would turn him into the police for the multiple killings he's done.

I am reading the book Ark Angel, by Anthony Horowitz, and I am on page 96. A recent event was when Alex had to tightrope walk across two towers to save his own life. In this situation, he is fleeing a burning building. If I was in this scenario, I would have tried to monkey bar it. I would just not look down and push as hard as I could. In the end, the building collapses and
he has to jump for it. I would also do the same and hope I could grab and hold on to something.

My book is called Wereworld by Curtis Jobling, I am on page 10 and a recent event that happened in the book is where the main character Drew is trying to escape from a pirate ship that he is held captive on as a slave. He heads through a swamp where he is attacked by a crocodile and then ends up being recaptured anyways. If i was in his place I would probably fail like he did because if the main protagonist who is a strong warrior would fail then so would I. Although if i could do it i would stay far away from the swamp and the crocodile as i could.

Another main character (Scout) says that Jem is acting strange, but her father (Atticus) says that “Jem is growing and that they must be patient with him.” In the story I would realize that Jem is growing and his attitude comes along with that stage of his life.

A recent event in my story is that Rodrick and Greg were arguing over some fake money they can turn in too their mom for real cash. Rodrick got mad and pushed Greg and slapped him. He came with a corpse of a woman with a horrific creature attached to it called an Anthropophagus. If I was in that situation I would probably throw up first then I would probably be in the corner crying and scared. Then after that I’d probably look at it for a second and then I’d be scared again and then I’d throw up again probably and crawl back to my corner.

A recent event in my book is that Bens mom ask god for help on what he should do for her kids because Ben is the dumbest kid in fifth grade and god answered her. And she said that instead of them watching so much TV they should read and they would have to read two books a week and give her the book reports for them. She said if they started to read a lot people would be watching them on the TV. But they were allowed to pick what book they could read. So Ben picks books about animals. While he is at the hospital he finds a few friends that are a little out of "it" in there own way. The title of the book I am reading is Wild wood by Colin Meloy and I am on page 127. the way that i would have handled the situation in the story is, in the book they are trapped in a forest with weird things going on and so what I would have done was what the people in the book are doing. Get help to find my brother then ask how to get out. In the story a friend also gets lost in the forest but I think I would have just left him to fend for himself because I had found my baby brother and I would need to get home as quickly as possible. I am sure that he would find his way out on his own, plus the main character in the story didn't want the friend to go in with her so it wouldn't be my fault that he got lost.

I am reading 1984 By George Orwell i am on page 110 (this books amazing). On the first page a man name Winston Smith tries to escape victory mansions. Then all of the guards go after him and everyone is on alert. If i was one of the prisoners i would try to explain to him there is no way out. I would assist because we already will all die and it would be pointless to stay somewhere you will just die in a couple years. This books deeply confusing and very interesting,.
