I am reading The House of Hades by Rick Riordan and I am on pg 421. In the book the main characters are all looking for the doors of death and they are all going through their own difficulties. Thus I think the word that would fit best with the section of the book is "quests" because each member has their own place in the journey that they help out in.

I am currently reading "Flush" by Carl Hiaasen, I am on page 93. I would say that on of the most important words in the stoy so far is divorce. "the d word my sister whispered, divorce?", divorce is an important word because noah's parents fighting really annoys him. Also he thinks that if he tells his dad that his mom may want a divorce than his dad will let them bail him out of jail. So he is wondering if he should tell his dad and get him out, or wait and see if his mom gets over it. even though they know she wont and it is upseting and scaring him and his sister.

I'm reading Of Mice and Men, and i'm finished with it. The most important word would probably be rabbits, because of how important they were to a character in the book who later in the book died. "... and George is gonna let me tend to the rabbits." It becomes important because Lennie is mentally ill and has trouble remembering who even his own aunt was. He got so happy thinking about the rabbits that it was one of the few things he could actually remember.

The book i am currently reading is Hunger games Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. i am on page 174. I think the most important word on the week of reading was rebel. Beetee takes another room and shows us how the team, with the help of rebel insiders, will attempt-has attempt- to free the victors from an underground prison. the reason i think that is the most important word is because the whole book is about rebeling.

The book I'm reading is called Looking for Alaska by John Green, and I am on page 62. There is no singular word that is important, but actually a group of words. The book is about Miles Halter who's fascinated with last words. His favorite last words were the those of the poet François Rabelais, who said on his death bed, "I go to seek a great perhaps." So the important group of words I spoke about is that "great perhaps." These words are important because they're the whole reason Miles begins boarding school and tries all these new things and meets new people. He wants to seek his great perhaps while he's still alive.

I am reading On the Fence by Kasie West and I'm on page 33. I think the most important word in the book is the word maybe. "Maybe, just maybe we can be more than just friends? I wish I could hold your hand and kiss you under the stars. Maybe, just maybe, we can be more than just friends." This is important because this is the part of the story when Braden admits to Charlotte that he has feelings for her. But maybe, just maybe, he is ready to have a relationship with his best friend.

RRaisch6 said...

@ ALandi4 I love that book!!! I read that in 6th grade with my friend for a book report that we had to do for Mrs.Jones's class.

@CWeinberg I haven't read that book yet, but I have read the other two books Hunger Games and Catching Fire and I hope that you find this book just as exciting!

I am reading "The youngest Templar" by Michael P. Spradlin and I am on page 220. The most important word in this book is probably Holy Grail."This is the Holy Grail. The cup of christ! I've seen it do things with my own eyes!" The grail is so important because who ever has possession of it has access to many powers and can be able to rule the world. That is why Tristan must return the grail back to England before someone takes the grail from him.

I am reading my ishamael by Daniel Quinn, and i am on page 224. I think that the most important word in the book is idea. The character ishmael works as a "midwife" for his students ideas. He helps to nurture the and bring them out and make them more useful to people.

Accook said...

I am currently reading "What The Dog Said" by Randi Reisfeld, I am on page 193. I think the most important word is dog. I think this because the book is about a dog and I honestly think is important because the book is about is about Rex, and he is important. Rex is ashelter dog and Grace adopted him because the dog talks to her. At the begining Grace thought that she was crazy, but the dog was actually talking to her.

I am reading cover-up by john Feinstein and I am on page # 71. I would say that the most important word is logistics. The best thing about having the Super Bowl in Indianapolis is the logistics. I chaos this word because at this time the Bears and the Ravens are playing in the Super Bowl. And Stevie think that the Bears have an advantage of winning in Indianapolis.

jsmith4 said...

I'm currently reading Chomp by Carl Hiaasen and I am on page 91. In my opinion, the words "animal" or "animals" are two of the most important words in the book.I think this because the whole book is based on the wild animals the characters have to cope with. For example, the author says that the main character has to, "...feed the animals and clean out the pens and cages." This proves that they spend their lives tending for the animals they own.

i am currently finished with The Alchamist by Michael Scott. I would say that the most important word in this book is the word aura. The author writes this word several times in the book series as he goes. Here is an example,"an aura is surronds every living thing,be it a humani, elder, next generation, immortal, monster,or anything in general apart from archons." I belive this a great book series and encourage others to read it as well.

I am reading “One Tough Chick” by Leslie Margolis, I am currently on page 107. The most important word in my book would be “talent”. This is the most important word because, she says it a lot throughout the book. An example would be “even though we all have disabilities, we also all have talents”. This shows that even if there is something wrong with you, you can overcome it and show people you have other positive things to show, or “talents”.

I am currently reading "Do Not Pass Go" by: Kirkpatrick Hill, i am on page 72. I think the most important word in my book is jail. The book quotes "He's been arrested! He's in jail!".This is important to the book because it shows the main conflict between the main character and the story. Also the word in general is just heavy in the air when said. Jail is a term often used to mean a bad place where bad people go.

I am reading Torment by Lauren Kate and I am on page 349. The most important word, in my opinion, is good because everyone is waiting for Daniel to pick which side he is on; good or bad. "'If it were me the the whole universe was waiting on to tip the scales, I would just pick the side of good.'" (Luce said that). He is the deciding vote on which side will win the war. That is why I think the word good is the most important.

I am reading The Finisher by David Baldacci and am on page 33. If I had to pick the most important word in the story it would be "Quag". The reason this is the most important word in the book because it represents freedom as well as fear for the characters in the book. The Quag is a place that leads to the other side outside of the city. But, there are many rumors as well as recorded deaths from people going through the Quag. I am not far enough in the book yet to know what actually goes on yet, but I'm sure I'll find out soon.

I am currently reading "The Big Time" by Tim Green and I am on page 70. I think the most important word so far is trust. "He knows Seth," Tate said. "And Seth has an agent. Don't you think you'd want to be with someone you know you can t-" "What" Troy asked, glaring at Tate. "Trust? That's what you were going to say, isn't it, Tate? Why wouldn't I trust my own father?" That was one of Troy's friends, Tate, and Troy's conversation. In this series Troy has always wanted to meet his father. At the beginning of this book his father shows up. Troy is trying to find someone to represent him, and Troy's dad is "a big time lawyer", so he wants his dad to represent him. But, since his dad never showed up in his life until now, his mom and Tate don't really trust him.

I’m reading the Perfect Season by Tim Green and I’m on page 181. The most important word in the book in my opinion is trust. “Just trust me.” This is what Seth a football coach for a high school football team in the book keeps telling his 13 year old all-star quarterback. He tells him this because the other high school players would not be happy if a 13 year old took there spot on the field. Seth has a plan for his all-star quarterback.

The book I am reading is Mike Lupica’s comeback kids and I am on page 209. The most important word I’ve seen that I read was perseverance because it really shape up the main character “comeback”. The sentence I seen it in was when the main character best friend said “even though you’ve been through a lot of things you must persevere through all this”. It also makes the main character realize he not alone. And it shows him that he’s made a friend.

In the sentence “Stay right here until you hear me yell “Geronimo”, then you know what to do.” Geronimo is the code word to let Abbey know when to rescue Noah from the people who are trying to kidnap them. This is the most important word because it will determine what the kids do next in the story.

I have just finished my book Divergent by Veronica Roth. I really liked this book. If I could choose one of the most important words to describe the book I would choose Divergent. The book was about a teenage girl and how she had to face all her problems of being Divergent. Someone who is Divergent is someone who is different than others.

I am reading the book “Torn” by David Massey. I am currently on page 75. Love is the most important word in this book … because what I have read so far that this girl feelings are torn because she becomes more involved in what she is surrounded with. She also don’t pin point out her feelings they are described deeply throughout the book. Also, it shows her skills when she is faced with life or death situations. She is taught to trust no one especially if they’re not in the military. Ellie has a boss who really likes her so she is faced with love-at-war. So love stands out to me more it shows what a real person is going through in war but is also young and only 19.

"Alex clambered down the side of the crusher, landing on the one foot that still had a shoe". I think that this word is important because if i continue reading this book than i won't have to wonder what it means. And if i come across it again i automatically know what it means in real life and in the book.

i have just finished reading Chupacabra. I think the word kidnapped is the most important word. The whole story is about how their friend Grace got kidnapped by her grandpa basically and they go to get her back. The story really has nothing to do with the Chupacabra.I think kidnapped is the most important word because it defines the whole storyline. I didnt really understand the storyline that much, but it is a sequal so it makes sense why i dont understand.

I am currently reading Devon Delaney Should Totally Know Better by Lauren Barnholdt and I am on page 163. I think the most important word based on what I read is honesty because this book is all about the characters being honest. The main character, Devon, always lies to everyone. She knows that being dishonest is bad, but she does it because she thinks it won’t matter. In page 146, Devon’s friend said, “Devon, you should apologize to Luke about what you did yesterday. You know that being honest is important.” By reading this quote, I inferred that she needs to be honest and truthful to her friends.

I am reading The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian by C. S. Lewis and I am currently on page 137. I think the most important word in the story would have to be Trees. “And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving- moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance”. I choose this word because Lucy woke up in the middle of the night when she heard a voice calling her through the trees. She thought it was either her fathers’ or Peters’ voice, but it was neither of them. Also the trees were moving back and forth, but there was now wind blowing.

I'm reading the second book in the Brotherband series by John Flanagan and I'm on page 150. I think the word most importantly used in my week of reading was "brotherband". "He gestured for the bigger boy to take the tiller, then ducked under the canvas screen into the small sheltered nook in the stern of the ship where he kept his navigation equipment and notes-----notes he had assiduously collected during the brotherband training period." This is most important because the term brotherband is used to show the connection of trust among shipmates. The training period mentioned helped those boys become friends and trust each other so that they could work together and so on and so forth.

I am reading the book "Far Far Away" by Tom Mcneal, I am on page 91. The most important word that I would say in this book would be "Ginger". Ginger Boultinghouse is a girl that is a troublemaker and isn't the most polite girl, and more than not, she gets Jeremy into trouble.A sentence involving Ginger is: " Ginger Boultinghouse smiled pleasantly at the boys"(page 11). Since I've started this book, Ginger has become a main part of Jeremy's life, Therefore, "Ginger" is an important word in this book.

I am currently reading Firefight by Brandon Sanderson, and I am on page 138. I would say that the most important word from what I have read would be the word assassins. The main characters were discussing a way to take out a powerful tyrant, and after they decide that they will take her out in her sleep, the protagonist, David, was stating how he felt about it. "That made us sound like assassins. But then again, at the root that was what we were." This is important because this is when David excepts that sometimes he has to do things that aren't exactly right, but they will help people.

"If your parents haven't tried to teach you to compromise yet, they're doing you a real disservice." Compromising is a very important thing in life.

My book is Tiger's Destiny by Colleen Houck and I've already finished my book. If I had to pick the most important word for my book it would be the word curse. The whole reason there was a story from the beginning was because of the curse. I considered love and trust, but there would be none of that if it wasn't because of the curse. Kelsey and Ren wouldn't have met and there would be no adventure and romantic things with out the curse.

I am reading "Small as an Elephant" by Jennifer Richard Jacobson and I am done reading my book. Since I am done reading my book ,I would say that "the most important word in my book is " mom." This book is about a boy who is finding his way to go back to home from a campground without his mom. This book mentions the word "mom" a lot because Jack went to camp with his mom but his mom is gone. He wants to see his mom. We all know that our mom is the most thankful person in the world, moms cares us ,and helps us to grow up. We cant think about our life without our moms. Jack thinks the same in the book. That is why "mom" is important in the book also, in our life.

I am reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and I am on page 105. After thinking I have come to the conclusion that the most important word in this section of the book is hunger. In most of this section he is driven by hunger, He describes it as the most hungry he has ever been. At one part, he finds berries and literally starts shoving them in his mouth. Of course he gets sick later but he still eats them.

I am currently reading "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card, and I am on page 313. The most important word in my story is "kill". On page 311 Ender's friend says "Ender you need to kill those aliens.". The reason "kill" is an important word that I chose is because if what is followed by the word happens the story will change dramatically. Losing the antagonists will stop the story from being a story, so in this sentence it is showing me that I am nearing the end of the book even though I can see that with the pages that are left.

Every day he steals a loaf of bread to eat, and whatever else he can scavenge. He also steals toys, and one morning he stole a book and while he was looking through this book he found amazing things. The stuff in the book causes him to go on a giant adventure and meet a lot of people throughout the book. The word appears all the time, but the first one was on page 78" Hey! Stop that thief!"

I'm a disappointment not only to Mr.Gilbert and my school but to myself too." This is important because their were scouts at that game and he wanted to be the best that he could so that he could be the first man in his family to go to college. Also so he could get a scholarship so that his mom didn't have to pay for his tuition.

Page 158 of my book states, "when obstacles arise it's good to come up with a creative way to overcome them." The Darlyn family has to overcome many obstacles and that makes the book interesting. Reading and analyzing the way that they overcome these obstacles makes you addicted to see what's on the next page. Therefore 'obstacles' is the most important word in this book.

I am currently reading "Summer Ball" by Mike Lupica, i'm on page 59. The most important word in my book is growth. "missing my own growth spurt and never actually grow-ing to the five-ten they always listed me at in those programs also didn't prevent me from getting the girls" growth is an important word because Danny does not like being short because he has to play with all the other big players around travel ball that is older than him. So he is wondering when is going to hit his growth spurt.

I am reading Ungifted by Gordon Korman and I am on page 48. I think the most important word is gifted. My eye couldn't get pass words like excellence, distinction, gifted , and especially Donovan Curtis. I believe this is the most important word because it's in the title of the book. I also think that because t's in the beginning of every chapter.

I am currently reading the adventures of tom sawyer by mark twain. I am on page 118. The most important word would have to be tranquilly because toms life can't seem to stay tranquil for a full day. There is always something happening where he live and he somehow gets involved. It may be in his personal life or trouble with the local kids.

I am reading Million Dollar Throw by Mike Lupica, and I am on page 71. The most important word in this past week has been hospital. The word appears on page 65 and it says, "Your mom had to take her to the hospital." the reason why it is so important is because his best friend, Abby, went to the hospital. She had fallen and was rushed to the hospital during the middle of Nate's football game.

My book is One For The Murphy's by Lynda Hunt. I'm on page 53 and it is so interesting how the main character changes her point if view based on the way another character reacted towards her. The word would have to be perspective. After reading you also change your perspective to.

I am currently reading this interesting book call The Tomorrow Code on page 56 and the author is Brian Falkner. The most important word or abbreviation is the word B.A.S.T.E. Which stands for Burst And Transient Source Experiment, this is found on page 26. Baste is a satellite that is suppose to detect and record sudden burst in gamma rays. This is important because the main character or Rebecca wants to see if messages from the future are possible by transferring messages through a quantum foam wall. The reason is to get money for her discovery to support herself and her mother.

alandi4: Nice word you chose and keep up the good work.

cweinberg6: Excellent job on answering the question.

The book I am currently reading is M or F? By Lisa Papademetriou, and I am on page 139. In my opinion, the most important word for this book would be friendship. The book surrounds itself with friends and friendships throughout the whole book. It really shows how things can impact a friendship. So that is why I believe that friendship would be the best word for this book.

I just finished the book 13 Hangmen and I am now currently reading Scat by Carl Hiaasen and I am on page 10 because I just started it. The most important words in the so far have been " good morning people" because so far in the book he has felt really bumbed out and he was being sarcastic. I haven't got to read much but it really seems like a nice book so far! This book so far has been talking about how he has a cat and that its pretty much his family. He also talks about how he had a very horrible day at school.

I am currently reading One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia and I am on page 7. I feel that the most important word in this book is family. In this book they travel to go find their mother in California who abandoned them. Only the three girls travel alone on a plane with no adults. They have to stick as a family, since they only have each other. All they have is family to rely on them, in hoes they make it there alive.

I'M currently reading November blue's written by Sharon Draper I'm currently on page 319.I say baby "do you know the baby can recognize your voice. The word I would say is the most important in my book is baby Because the character in the book is having a baby and she has description of baby to her like it's her own words. And the book is mostly about the baby she is having that she has to make a decision if she wants to keep the baby or give it up.

I'm reading I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore, and I'm on page 83. If I had to choose the most important word in what I've read this week it'd be "searching". I choose searching, because no matter what part of the story you're talking about all of it has to do with searching for something. The main character is always searching for answers about his purpose in life, and why he has to defend his planet and run from evil. At the same time he's always being searched for by Mogadorians, and is constantly having to move and run in order to escape them.

I am currently done with the book Daniel X by James Patterson. There are lots of words in this book that could easily be chosen to be elaborated on, but I think the best word is perseverance. I chose perseverance because throughout the book Daniel is constantly breaking through barriers in his life he'd never break through. Everything from fighting aliens to constantly thinking about his family being dead everywhere he goes. He has to fight through everything ALONE.

I’m currently reading it’s a mall world after all, and I’m finished with the book.
Form the reading I did this week the most important word would be, friendship.
Because in the story the main character tells her best friend, that while working at her job in the
mall . she seen him with another girl instead of believing her friend she believes his friend and
this shows that it is important to go by what your friends tell you because most likely they wont lie

The boo I read is Framed by Gordon Korman, and I am finished with the book. I think the most important word in the book is "plan". I think this because whenever someone says plan all the characters know they are in trouble already. they also get excited to do a plan because they always involve what the kids do best.

The book I'm reading is The Kill Order by James Dashner and I'm on page 100. I think the most important word in this book is Sun Flare. I think the word Sun Flare is important in this book because it's the disease that people have been getting injected with or just dying from it. And actually that's how everything got started because a big Sun Flare happened in the eastern United States ruining the cities and killing people. Also that's what the main characters are trying to survive from. Also the Sun Flare is what lead to WICKED being created then The Maze in The Maze Runner.

I am currently reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green and I am on page 235. I think the most important word in this book is okay. The main characters Hazel and Gus both use the word "okay" to show their deep affection towards each other. Their friend Issac and his girlfriend had always said "always" to each other instead of I love you.Gus and Hazel were texting and Gus said okay then Hazel said okay back then Gus said "Oh my God, stop flirting with me because we both know okay is a very flirty word"(pg.102) After that they both say okay to each other. I think its cute and sweet that they use okay as their always so i chose that.

I was reading "Bad Girls Don't Die" Katie Alender and I am finished with it. Based on what I read the last time I think "good" was the most important word. Katie Alender used this in a sentence by having Alexis' mother tell Alexis "You're a good girl." The whole book Alexis is worried about what people think of her.At the end of the book when her mother tells her she's a good girl I think it really means something.
