The book I an currently reading is "The boy in the stripeed pajamas". The author of my book is John Boyne. I am currently on page 7. The author makes the character believable by putting him in a real world situation. Also by what he experiences during the Holocaust.
The book I am currently reading is Money Hungry. This book is by Sharon Flake. I am on page 31. The author of this book makes the character believable becaus she gives very good supporting details. Also she tells us what the character is thinking and how she feels.
nmongo2, I read this book. It is very good and it is not a true story. OOO yea i see dead people.
jdale2, Good book. I think you should find a better reason though!
Jdale2, You did a wondefull job and that is the miost impressive blog and comment in the entire world. YOu are a combinations of Jesus and Beyonce.
The book im reading is Halo:Cryptom by Greg Bear, on page 236. The main character of the book is very believable in that he shares his expireince. This is done in great detail by expressing the characters thoughts and feelings through the text. For example while undergoing the brevet mutaion so as to gain access to the Domain, the character explains the agony of his rapid development. He then on occasion uses simile to compare his personal expireance to that of the observed feelings of a similair scenario.
The book I am reading is called Matched. The author is Ally Condle.I just started this book and I am on page 51. The author makes this book believable by incorporating real life situations into it. Though, what happens in the story isn't something that would happen in our generation, its vivid and its not out of the ordinary. This book isnt' fantasy but has aspects that may be characterized as that.
dgillespie5:
Is that a good book?
Jdale2, try giving more details to back up your post.
nmongo2:
I loved that movie!
I just started great Expectations by Charles Dickens so I don't know. The last book I read was
Found by margaret peterson haddix. In the book a boy named Jonah is adopted and try to find out who his friend's, who just found out he was also adopted, real parents are. The author makes the chararcters more believable because the author explained what Jonah and the best friend were feeling/ thinking.
Astephens5, sounds like an emmersive book.
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I finished the book.
Collins makes the characters in her book seem believable because they aren't just black and white. She puts a lot of depth into her characters. There are a lot of shades of grey in her story. Good people that make bad decisions, or bad people that have a good moment or two. She keeps them real.
JFox5,
I've never heard of that book, but I would like to read it.
AStephens5,
I love it when the author makes situations that can be believeable.
the book i am about to start reading is shakespeare's inults by wayn f. hill. judgeing by the title, the only character is shakespear. i belive he will be beliveable because of the way the language is used. and besides, it's shakespear! how can you argue with one of the greatest writers of all time?!. and by looking at the insults on the front cover, this is going to be hilarious.
hope the movie doesn't suck like the twilight disaster
eMoody6
hope the movie doesn't suck like the twilight disaster
dgillespie5
how many novels of that game are there!?
My book is Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, and Im on page 67. The author makes the characters believable by talking about how the characters feel and what they think. Also, the way they are makes them seem real and they way they talk also makes them believable too. Also, by having the characters do real things and seem like what is going on really might of happened.
I am currently reading The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I am on page 20. The author makes the main character believable by having him experience the same emotions normal people would feel if they were in his place. He is extremely scared and curious about what's happening to him. He is confused about why he is in that situation.
Jfox5, I read Found last year. It was really awesome! My sister had to read Great Expectations for school this year and her expectations for the book after the first chapter weren't very great.
EMoody6, I love that book! It is amazing!
The book that I am reading is The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks. I am currently on page number 19. The author makes the characters believable by 'painting a picture' in your head of what they look like, he also uses supporting details, explains everything, and has a lot of dialogue. He also tells us what the character is thinking or feeling.
lrichey6,
I have never heard of your book. What is it about?
nmongo2,
Do you like the book?
Title: The Last treasure
Page: 76
Author: Janet Anderson
I'm not quite sure, but I guess it's because the author has studied the main character's past (Ellsworth Duncan, or Zee). The author has a family tree of the Smith Family. That's all I can think of, so I'll describe a little of what's happening so far. Ellsworth is sent to Elizabeth Kerr's house to learn about the last treasure of John Smith. Ellsworth's father told Ellsworth not to try to find it alone, so Ellsworth plans on going with his cousin, Jessica Colby, or Jess.
@nmongo2
I've watched the movie last year, but never read the book. I wonder if it's any better
@Jdale2
Sounds like a book based on greed. But I find greed in most of the books I read, so I doubt I'd read it.
dhileman6, THANKS for commenting on my blog... And it does have to do with greed and what she will do to get money
dhileman6, never heard of that book. Is it a movie cause i prefer to watch not read.
I am currently reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I am on page 73. The authour makes the characters believable by giving them situations that A usaul tennager would go through with A
little twist. The main charcter Katniss is in A situation where she has to choose between two guys to date.
I am currently reading A Kiss in Time by Alex Finn and I am on page 13.
The main character of my book is Talia. Finn makes the characters in the book believable because they all have human characteristics like Talia is snobby and picky, and the dress for sixteenth birthday ball, has to be certain type and color. Her governess, Lady Brooke, is also believeable because she does not believe in fairies, and most humans don't..
I am currently reading Lost and Found by Anne Schraff. I am on page 58. The author makes the characters believable by making them have feelings and emotions that you can relate to. When the author makes the reader have visions of the story, its a good way to show and explain what the characters feel.
anichols2,
OMG THE LUCKY ONE?! I have that book sitting on my bedside table and I have yet to read it. Or see the movie! :( I really want to. Is it good?
nmongo2,
Ive always wanted to read that book but I could never find it.
eMoody6,
the hunger games series is the best series of books EVER! I just finished Mockingjay :) Read Catching Fire! It's definitely the best of the three.
@ bferguson2- That book is a good way to show what the characters believe. I think I would want to read it some day.
awilson2, how does the authour make the reader have visions of the story?
@eMoody6- Everybody is reading The Hunger Games...but I do not see what the big deal is. :)
tgarrison2 i have read that it is good awilson2 my mom said that was a good book but i have never read it.
The book that I am currently reading isAlibi Junior High. The author is Greg Logsted. The page that I am currently on is page 7. The author makes the characters in my book believable is that he makes them have flaws. Like cody dosnt like stuff because it reminds him of the past. Like when his aunt had a Yankees' hat on when she was picking him up at the airport.
I am currently reading hunger games by Suzanne Collins. I am currently on page 24 of this book. The author makes the character believable because of the tough times they are going through. Also the emotions and things they say. Such as "I volunteer as tribute".
@Jdale2 sounds like nothings going on so far
@Dgillespie5 Why daniel do you always read halo books
i agree with ntburke5. dgilispie does always read halo.
My book is Artemis Fowl. the author is Eoin Colfer. im on page 224. he gives the protaganist human charachteristics such as hair color. he is super smart and tells all about his own life.
I am currently on page 77 of Mockingjay(book 3 of The Hunger Games), by Suzanne Collins. Collins makes the characters realistic by explaining their feelings. I mean you’re not human if you don’t have any feelings! She describes feelings of love by adding how bright red an embarrassed character’s cheeks get. She describes anger by explaining, in full detail, how Katniss slashes at Haymitch with such fury that it still leaves marks after a week has passed. She also puts in full detail, how tense things become in the arena, such as, when Katniss felt very wary about forming alliances. These details make you want to believe that these characters do exist.
Tgarrison2:
That is my favorite book of the Hunger Games trilogy! I hope you’re liking it as much as I did!
Anichols2:
I love comparing characters in books to the movie. It makes me very excited when they match the book’s description!
The book I am currently reading is Fat Kids Rules the World by K.L.Going and I am on page 8. The author makes the story believable by how they describe the character. For example the first paragraph in the story gives a description of the main character, Troy Billings. I could already picture what he looked like only in reading the first paragraph .
Nmongo2,
I've heard of your book before and it seemed really interesting
Lrichey6,
Your book sounds interesting, what is your book about
I'm currently reading A Luckey Child by Thomas Buergenthal. I am on page 153. My book makes Thomas real because it is about his life in Auschwitz. At the time he was 10years old. Anyon who wants to learn more about the Holocaust should read this book.
nmongo2,
I think that you might like to read A Luckey Child. It's about the Holocaust too and the school library will have it soon.
dgillespie5,
Would you reccomend that I read that book. Fellow Halo fan.
nmongo2
I heard that book is incredible and very sad. It must be believable since its things that have happened.
Jdale2
That book sounds good, I might read it.
The book im currently reading is Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins im on page 200. The character makes it believable because it is the future and it is things that can actually happen because of people. The things that happen are from peoples fighting. In the book they are fighting for a cause that they want and many people do that in real life. The main character is very strong and leads this rebellion and it is like real life.
@nmongo2 (again)
Yes, it's a movie. I watched it in mr. Clegg's last year when we were learning about the Holocaust.
I am currently reading Warriors New Prophecy: Dawn by Erin Hunter. I am currently on page 286. I do not really think my characters are believable. My characters are not real, they are talking animals, and the scenarios can never occur in real life, scenarios such as a calling from spirits to travel to a new place because humans are destroying it. Cats of differing clans/tribes talking peacefully are impossible. My characters may be believable in the book but not in real life.
@CGreek5
Ha! Many language arts students in the 8th grade are learning about the Holocaust.
bferguson2,
It was really good! I saw the movie first so it gives me a better background of what is going on.
I just began reading Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli! The author of my books is very good at making the characters seem believable and very life like. The story is about people in high school so I can sort of relate to them and they do things I would do. Also, the characters make mistakes and unlike movies and tv shows, humans do make mistakes. This book is great so far and you should really read it!
Tmartinez5, that sounds liek a good book! Great pick, Tishie :)
Amanibusan6, do you think Hunger Games is as good as everyone says it is? I want to start reading it!
i am reading Blindsided by Priscilla Cummings, im currently on pg.59. The author is writing about a real world situation about an ordinary girl named Natalie goes blind and describes her life and the challenges in her life.
jdewitt6, that sounds like a good book jamie.. good job explaining:)
anichols2
omg.. that sounds like such a good movie.. and book how is it ?(:
lmartinez, that book sounds good.
My book is Diesel by the engine co. of newyork. I am on page 50. and so far this book is really hard to understand. It names all thye engine parts in a diesel engine from the 1800s. So i would not recommend this to people who dont like to learn about old engines.
cool book jdennis5
awsome book imartienez5
My book is Lets pretend this never happened. This book is by Jenny Lawson. I am on page 12. Well this book is a memoir, so this is her life story so technically all the people have different names and stuff but they are all real people.
But this book is realllly funny!!!
The book i am currently reading is Dairy of a Wimpy Kid.It is very good.Im on page like 90ish.My book is very beleiveable because he lives what most kids live when they are children. You should ree3ad it toooooooooooo.
I am currently reading Gregor the Overlander. The author is Suzanne Collins. And i am on page 3. The author makes the characters beleiveable by giving specific details about them and showing their inner thoughts.
I am currently reading "Tomorrow Girls: Behind the Gates" by Eva gray. I am on Page 72. Eva Gray makes the characters seem realistic by giving them real life problems. She also gives a background story about them. I love this book!
wlawrence,
that sounds really good!
lcbagley6,
I love those books!
The book that I am currently reading is Kingdom Keepers 4 by Ridley Pearson. The main character in the book is Finn Whitman the fifteen year old leader of the group of keepers. The author makes him seem believable by presenting him with real life situations, and problems. Also he describes what Finn feels, thinks, wears, and says. So far this book is really interesting and I'm looking forward to reading the next one. By the way I am on page 322.
Ebayer6, that title sound so suspenseful! Glad your enjoying it.
Emoody6, I agree with you about how the Hunger Games author makes the characters real. Hope your enjoying the book!
I'm reading treasure island. I'm on page 14. The Robert louis Stevenson. The author makes the characters believable by describing the features as a person and there personality. I really like his descriptions of the characters and there situation?
Dgillespie5
Of all people your reading that!!!!'m
Emoody6
That book is amazing!!!!!
I'm currently reading Cathcing Fire by Suzanne Collins and I'm on page 300. The author makes the characters believable by showing their thoughts and emotions. Also, she is very descriptive with everything Katniss sees, so you feel like you're there and it's real. Katniss and Peeta's love seems so real especially because it's a movie now. So it's easy to put the characters in the movie with the book and that makes it come alive for me.
jdale2, what is your story about? Who is the main character?
astephens5, your book sounds really good? What real world situations does it have? Is it supposed to be set in the future?
The book I am reading is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling, also, I am on page fourty four. She makes the characters believable by explaining their emotions, and the reasons behind them. She gives them personality and makes their lives relatable. For example, Harry Potter has a crush on Ginny Weasley and he isn't sure how the relationship is going to work out. This happens to all of us at some point, so we can relate to Harry and Ginny.
The book I am currently reading is Runaway Twin by Peg Kehret. I am on page 36. The author makes the character believable by putting her in a real life situation. The girl is trying to find her lost twin after they were seperated and put into foster homes. The author also tells us how she feels and her emotions on certain topics.
emoody6, I agree, Suzanne Collins does a great job of making her characters believable. If Katniss and Peeta didn't have any challenges in their lives, then we wouldn't be able to relate to them.
Mwilliams6,
Your book sounds funny I might want to read it after you.
slaw5, I agree, in order for us to be able to relate to a character, we have to know what they are feeling. We have to be able to put ourselves in their situation.
jdale2,
What kind of details does the author give you?
My book is Artemis Fowl. It is written by Eoin Colfer. I think the author makes the characters believible by making them act normally. I also think they seem somewhat beleivable because of there way of talking. I am currently on page 12 of my book. So far so good.
emoody6
the hunger games is good.
cgreek5
I hate the holocaust.
Anonymous
The book I am currently reading is called The Giver. The author of my book is Lois Lowry. I am currently on page 112. The author of my book makes the character believable by leaving you guesting. He seems to try to make everyone wonder the same thing,"I wonder what's going to happen next." And that what I've been wondering through out the book so fare.
@AStephens5 I agree my sister read the same book.
@nmongo2 are all Holocaust books like that.
I am currently reading Middle School the Worst Years of My Life by, James Patterson. I am on page 22. My author makes the characters believable by giving them human characteristics and emotions. For example, my book is about a teenage boy who writes about all his experiences in middle school. The author also makes the characters believable by showing how they have to overcome problems throughout the story.
@dbenjamin6 That sounds like a really sad story.
@lcbagley6 I read that series in third grade.
The book I recently finished was A time for courage by Kathryn Lansky. The author made the characters believable by putting them in a real historical situation. the suffrage movement was a event that effected all women in America.
nmongo2, my book is historical as well.
dgillespie5, I like your description.
I just started reading Stargirl. The author of the book is Jerry Spinelli. I'm on page 10. The author making the characters believable by giving us a lot of details. Such as what is on their minds, what are they thinking and talking about, how do they look like. Even what are they wearing. And all of them have real problems like in real life.
I'm glad that i found this book, as far i really enjoy reading it.
nmongo2
I was going to it, but a lot of people saying that that the movie is better. Do you like the book?
lmartinez5
Sounds like an interesting book!j
My book is the fourth stall. I am on page 50. and so far this book is really hard to understand. it at the same time is very funny. yes i would. reccomend this book to who ever would like to have a good laugh!!!!
@amanibusian6
i read that book in 5th grade it was not that good to me though
The book I was reading was Iron Thunder by Avi. I am currently done with the book. Avi makes the main character, Tom, real by giving him the thoughts everyone around his age would have. Tom experiences both physical and mental pain during the course of the book. His reactions to these events make the character real.
sbogue2,
Hunger Games book?
My character is believeable because she must deal with family guys and difficult dissisions and lies. Everone must deal with atleast one of these. No matter how hard she tries to help and or save the people she cares about theres always something going against her. My character is Katniss Everdeen. Im reading Catching Fire (the second book) and Im on page 236 the author is Suzann Collins.
ejones6
Isnt that a movie? The boy in the stripped pajamas?
emoody6
I agree
the book im reading is fat kid rules the world.illustrated by k. l. going.im on page 23 my character makes things believeable by expressing his self through out the hole book. the character is out spoken whatever he feels or wants to do he does it.also the character is trust worthy and hinest.
rjacobs2; you have a good book. read only half of it before i turned it in
pdixon6; the boy in the striped is ta movie its just a remake of the book
The last book I read was the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I have currently finished it. Suzanne makes the characters in the Hunger Games believable by telling the reader of what the character has gone through as well as the characters main activities that helps them pass the time or survive or to help with their families. One example is Katniss Everdeen, she tells the past of how well her life was until her father died in a mining incident. She explains on how she tries to survive after her mother abandons the family due her being in depression. Also she explains on how she does her job as a hunter and why it is legal for her to hunt.
@nmongo2
I heard that book is amazing but sad at the same time
@dgillespie5
I always wanted to read the Halo Books
The book that i am reading is Wich and Wizard. It is by James Patterson. I just finished it. He makes the character act like normal people. Like if one of the characters got scared of something, it would be something that i would probably be scared of too.
nmongo2,
that movie was sad
Jdale2,
Is she hungry for money??
The book I'm reading is The Wizard Heir. It is by Cinda Williams Chima. I'm on page 243 and the auther of my book makes the characters believable by giving a set personality in each of the characters. The warrior in the story doesn't suddenly like ponies and dresses. The shy one isn't arrogant at random points.
Amanibusan6, that was a really good book.
EMoody6, that book made time go by very quickly.
I am currently reading The Woman in Black by susan Hill and am on page 50. The authore makes the chracters believeable by giving them obvious human characteristics. My book is horror therefore a lot of fear is involved. She describes the fear of the main character as papalyzing to the point where you can't move and thats how I feel hen I'm scared also. She also gives them traits like curisoity, sadness, and joy which makes the characters believeable to me.
Sbouge2,
That was my favorite book of the whole series. Do you like it?
Slaw5,
A lot of peole have read that book and really liked it. Do you like it?
i am currently reading Earthborn. The author is Sylvia Waugh. She makes the characters believable by expressing their emtions. Their thoughts on certain situations. For example when Nesta gets puched by a school bullie she pulls you into her thoughts on how she is so confused on what she did to cause such pain. I am n page 167.
jdale2: I love that book.
nmongo2: That book is so sad.
Titans curse, page 140~, Author Rick Riordan. Rick Riordan puts me in a place where i can understand the characters life. While he does that he talks about their adventures and how ordinary children figure out their demi-gods. I can almost relate to their lives except for the fact that they have adventures and they have powers. It is really cool to hear about the lives of these kids as they venture along,, and Rick Riordan does a good job of describing it.
@ntburke5 " Great Progress " Nick considering " reading is for girls "
@Jdale2 Yes agree that was a totally wonderful blog. It was the "miost" impressive comment in the world
I was currently readin The Lost Dogs. The author is Jim Gorant. Well the characters was real people. He made the character real because he told people about what happen with Micheal Vick and his dogs. The story was bad because he had some raw dogs.
mmcclendon5,
I wouldn't want to read that book.
scottr
I heard of that long time ago.
The name of my book is "The Fallen".By Paul Langan.Im on Pg.10. The author makes the characters as one of us as teenagers so it seem so real because situations like this happen,For example, In my community boys around the age of 15 and 16 start trouble. It even causes death.
The book I just finished reading was called Demon Glass by Racheal Hawkins. It was 368 pages long. The author makes the characters believable by making the main character, Sophia, have realistic emotions and life situations. Sophia is a demon and has to stay with her father, who is also a demon, over the summer. While she is living with the council, she has to fight off demon hunters called The Eye. The only problem is, she is in love with a member of The Eye. That is how the author make the character believable by making her go through emotions and drama a teenager could have.
Snetherland5,
The movie for the book looks kind of creepy. Is the book?
scottr,
I read that book in fifth grade it was good.
I finished reading The Boy in The Striped Pajamas by John Boyne ( i havn't started a new book yet). The author made Bruno believable because he made Bruno a very naive character, who had no idea the holocaust was happening and why all the people in the striped pajamas were behind a fence.
why was the book called demon glass seems kinda creepy, was it a scary book?
