I am currently reading The Help by Kathryn Sockett and on page 65. I would take place of Skeeter because she stands up for what she believes in and tries to help and make things better. She is a nice person and does not want what everyone else wants their life to be. I would be scared to stand up for what is right especially with people who have stong feelings about slavery, but at least she tried to change that.
I am currently reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne and I am only on page 5 because I just started.
I wouldn't want to take the place of any character in my book. This story is during World War II, when the holocaust was occuring. And Bruno makes a friend on the other side of what he thinks is JUST a fence. However it's really a fence seperating his backyard from a concentration camp holding the jews. His family and him are constantly smelling the bodies being burnt and it really is an awful time for all of them. So I wouldn't take the place of any character in my book.
I just finished the book The Kidnappers, and I am currently looking for a new one, but i cant chose. The author of The Kidnappers is Willo Davis Roberts. If could take the place of somebody in the book I would want to be the Dad of the main character because he's rich and nobody bothers him. The reason I wouldn't want to be anybody else is because two of the main characters get kidnapped and the people who suffer because of that are the mom, the siblings and the friends. I would also like to be the dad because he helps the cause in a positive way. I would reccomend this book to anybody who likes mystery's because it was a very good one.
anichols2
I've heard that book is really sad, do you think it is?
bferguson2
Would you reccomend this book to me?
I have just finished reading The Witches of Worm, by Zilpha Keatley Snyder. If I had to take the place of a person in my book, I would have to choose Ben. Ben isn't involved in many parts of the book. He has an easy life, playing his trumpet and riding bikes in spare time. Nothing bad happens to him, and he helps his friend with her demon cat. He saves the cat from dying after it escapes the apartment building, too.
bferguson2;
I might read that book, it sounds like a good one. I haven't read many books about that time period, though.
kflanagan6;
That mystery does sound like a good one, is there a reason for the people to be kidnapped?
kflanagan6,
Who would you reccomend this book to?
The book I recently finished is Christmas after all by kathryn Lansky. I relly wouldnt want to be anyone in particular in the book since it is in the great depression. If I had to choose I would be the main character. She has a fairly good life for being in the depression.
astine2,
Is this an interesting book? Who do you think would like this book?
bferguson2, your book sounds very sad, I wouldnt take anyone's place either.
kflanagan6, I agree with you.
I am currently reading Brisingr by Christopher Paolini. I am on page 216, and if I had to take a place of one character, it would be Eragon. I chose Eragon because he will probably live through the rest of the book because he is the main character. Also, he can use magic with greater power than normal people. He also has the power of the elves and he rides a dragon, Saphira.
My book is The Lightning Theif, By Rick Riordan page 45. If i had to take place of one character who would i take place of? I would definitely choose Percy as who i would want to be. Being a demi god i think it would be cool to have powers and be immortal. Also he can have the life of the gods and humans.
I am currently reading ShadowFever by Karen Moning. Iam on page 345. I f i could take the place of one character in my book i would take the place of MacKayla because her life is filled with romance and adventure. She fights boys and girls for the rebirth of her sister. She falls in love with her demon boss Barrons.
bferguson2, I saw that movie in 7th grade geography!
i am reading son of neptune and i am on page 155. if i could take the place of one of the charaters it would have to be percy. because he is the main charater and he gets akll the credit for anythibng that anyone dose.if you like roman times than you should read this book.
bferguson2: I love that book.
I have currently finished the book The Underdogs by Mike Lupica. If I could take the place of a character it would be Will Tyler. I would take the place of Will Tyler because he is very fast and I would like to be that fast. Also he is on a very good football team.He also has the greatest life because his dad is never home and that would be great.
@Sjun2, Brisingr sounds like a good book :D. Magic IS B E A S T
kflanagan6: I have never read that.
astine2, that sounds like an interesting book.
@tgarrison2 i would take place of Tyler to haha.
anichols2,
She did the right thing by standing up for what she believes in.
I am currently reading "Pretty Ugly" by Karyn Langhorne Folan. I am on page 128. There are many characters in my book and the main character is who I would wnat to be. She goes through many hard situations and she gets through them all. The main problem of the book is about how a new nerdy girl is trying out for cheerleading, as well as Jamee. A group of girls start making fun of Angel (nerdy girl) and Jamee does not like that they are doing that. The group of girls start being rude to Jamee because Jamee is being nice. She goes through a lot of confilicts with them and wins at the end.
I just finished reading Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit. If I could take the place of one character in my book, I would take Winnie's place. She is the main character who is a 10 year old little girl who's never really left home. At first, she's very secure and happy just being with her family.Then, one day, she meets Jesse in the forest and he takes her with his family to their home. The Tuck family did this because they wanted to ensure she would keep their secret that they can live forever. I would want to be Winnie because it's so cool she gets to meet really nice family and have new experiences with them. Sometimes, she has doubts because they kidnapped her. Then, she realizes they love her and are just there to help.
bferguson2,
That sounds horrible i wouldnt either.
@tgarrison2- Being fast is a very big thing I want to do too. :P
bferguson2, have you seen the movie? I cried my eyes out! It was a really good movie, but very sad. I would love to read the book though!
@bferguson2- I LOVE that book and movie...it is really good.
kflanagan6, I like your choice to be the Dad! That character seems like they have it good because they're the only one who doesn't have something tragic happen to them!
My book is Witch & Wizard: The Fire im on page 223. If I could take the place of one character it would be Wisteria, she is smart beautiful and she has magic. The magic of fire. Shes strong and independent and can do anything she sets her mind to. She can even defeat The One Who is The One. Thats a big deal.
I am reading Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. Im currently on page 20.I just started reading the book. In my book I think I would trade places with John Tyree to see how his perpective from his eyes is. Because in the beginning of the story he explains his life and it seemed like he had a hard life.
anichols2, the help is and amazing movie. I think you should see it!(:
anichols2, the help is and amazing movie. I think you should see it!(:
astine2
so you'ld pick a static character?
I am reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I am on page 231.
I would take place of Madge. i would do this because in the book she doesnt have to play in the hunger games and she doesn't have to go back to the hunger games. She also doesn't starve like most of the other people on district 12. If I was her I would be feeding some of my food to the people who would starve.
sjun2
Id pick the dragon too. :)
I'm currently reading Hate That Cat by Sharon Creech, and I just recently finished the book.
I would take the place of Jack's mother because she is kind. She enjoys her life despite the fact she's deaf. I also wouldn't want to deal with Bill's rambling, so it would be nice not to hear anything. She's amazing and not afraid to do anything, and she loves Jack, her husband, and Skitter McKitter.
@anichols2
Is The Help that one movie about the discrimination against blacks? o: I wanted to see that.
My book is Queste. Im on page 244. The author is Angie Sage. I would take Beetles place because he has an interesting job and he has amazing friends in Septimus Heap and Jenna. The Shop that beetle works at is the manuscript. His job lookind a bunch of trap doors on top of a ice passage.
@bferguson2
Ouch, the Holocaust? I wouldn't want to be there either.
I am currently reading the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and am on page 49. A character in this book I would like to be would probabaly be Madge, the mayors daughter. Even though Madge doesn't have a very big role I would still like to be her because she doesn't have to parcipate in the hunger games. This means that she doesn't have to fight other people from other districts to the death. Also she has one of the best lives of the people in her district.She is the mayors daughter therefore she gets to live in the best house and doesn't starve to death like other poeple in her district.
@bferguson2
Ouch, the Holocaust? I wouldn't want to be there either.
The post above is by Snetherland5, not w.
bferguson2
that book sounds very ...... intereting.
i lke why you chose the character though
The book that I am currently reding is Touch Blue. The author of my book is Cythia Lord. I am on page 57. The character that I would in nmy book is Daniel. The reason why is he is the only 13 year old boy. He stands up for what he loves and is not scared to stand up for it.
SNethrland5 ,
That's who I wanted to be too!!
Bferguson2,
Thats so sad! I wouldn't want to be anyone in that book either.
anichols2 did aa great job.
Jfox5,
Thats so funny! I was thinking about Katniss but I wouldn't want to participate in the games.
SNethrland5,
Yeah I was thinking about that too, but i would of died if I had to be in the hunger games!! So I picked Madge.
bferguson I seen the movie.
I am currently reading Black Duck I am on page 2. The author is Janet Taylor Lisle. I would be David, because he is strong and bold. He is a detective and solves mysteries and crimes. He is currently trying to find out how the people driving the black duck died.
@jdennis5 why is he not scared?
@Snetherland5 is the hunger game books good?
I'm reading American Presidents by David Whitney. If I was a character in my book I would be Abraham Lincoln because he stoped slaverey. But it is sad how he died. He had a fun life and is strange but he is my favorite president. I like how he was determined to change America.
Snetherland5
When is the movie coming out?
The book I am currently reading is Firestars Quest by Erin Hunter. I am on page 200. I would take the place of Firestar. I want to be the leader of a large orginization. It sounds like fun. I would also like to recieve prolific dreams telling me to restore a deceased clan. I want to explore new territory and meet new cats.
bferguson2
I read that book in 7th grade. The end is so depresing
The book I just finished reading was called Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. The book was 528 pages. I would take the place of Calla. The reason why I would take her place is because she is the main character. She is the alpha wolf of her pack, the Nightshades. She is assigned to marry the alpha wolf of the Bane pack, but she falls in love with a human named Shay. Calla has to fight against the Keepers, which are magical witcches. I would be Calla because she get to go on a dangerous adventure to defeat the Keepers and save her friends from them. I think it would be a lot of fun.
anichols2,
Isn't there a movie about that book?
bferguson2,
I have seen the movie of that book and it was so sad!
i'm reading valley Forge by Newt Gingrich. I'm on page 75. If i could take one character's place it would it would be benjiman Rush. This is because he is one of the non-soldier characters in the book. So he has a warm lodge and planty of food.
@anichols2
she sounds like a good character
@bferguson2
That's a really sad book
If I were to take the place of one of the characters some from my book, i would have to pick the Martians. I would pick them because in short, its better to be on the winning side. As an added plus,They have flying saucers and three legged tanks. Other than that though, i dont have any other reasons mostly cause they die due to exposure to earht bacteria.
I am just finished reading The Help by Kathryn Sockett on page 322. I would want to be Miss Celia because she is a very nice white women who is very nice to her maid. She isn't like anyone else, she doesnt treat Minny bad and is very rich. I would love to spend my life in the house just laying around, and just like to learn how to cook. Miss Celia is very lively and is the best character to be if i was to pick.
bferguson2
I have always wanted to watch the movie! It seems so sad, is the book really good??
anichols2
I love that book! It was just so amazing! What is your favorite part so far?
i am currently reading treasure island by robert louis stevenson. i am on page 100. if i had to take the place of one of thiese characters, i would be the main character: jim hawkins. i would be him because he has the exciting life, like hiding from a group of pirates and adventuring with another. he also gets to fing a crap load of cash, something all of us want.
kflanagan6
i would loke to be the dad to (heh heh)
hpeel2
yeah, nobody would want to be in the great depression
My book is The Lightning Theif By Rick Riordan page 45. If I had to take place of one character I would choose Percy as who I would want to be. Being a demi god I think it would be cool to have powers and be immortal. Also he can have the life of the gods and humans.
bferguson2
I might read that book it sounds like a good one.
I am reading A Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin on page 331.
I would take Jon Sonw's place. I would choose him because though he lives on a wall of ice, he gets to control five forts along the north. He is very brave and he tries to do what is right to rebuild the Night's Watch. Jon Snow has always been one of my favorite characters and I know he will make the right choice in the end.
anichols2,
The character I chose is a lot like Skeeter, he doesn't have to deal with slavery, but he does a lot I don't think I could
I am reading Johny Tremain by Esther Forbes. I am on page 46. If I had to take the place of one character in my book it would be Johnny. Johnny is the most liked person in the book, he rules the silversmith shop where he is apprenticed, everyone either likes him or hates him, and he is very talented with his hands.
bferguson,
I would hate to be alive during the halocaust, too
I am about to start reading a book about Michael Phelps and i am on page 1. There is only one character in my book is michael phelps so i would take the place of him. But i would take the place of him because he had a lot of fame and money and won a lot of medals. And he was in the olypics and i think it would be fun to be in the olypics. He also has a lot of fans and fame and it would be awesome to have all that.
I am reading "Bystander" by James Preller. I am omn chapter 12 page 69 If i were to pick a character who I wanted to be I would pick Eric because he is the new kid in school and makes a friend on the first day.
I am reading the Sherlockian. I am on page 50 and it is by Graham Moore. I would be Arthur Conan Doyle because I would like to know what one of the greatest authors in history was thinking. Come on who wouldn't want to be a famous writer. Yet he does kind of seem kind of crazy.
pdixon6
that book sounds awesome
astine2
That sounds kinda boring, but nice at the same time.
pdixon6
That character sounds pretty cool, how often does she use her magic?
I am currently reading Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning and I am on page 203. If i could take the place of one character in this book it would be Mackayla AKA Mac. I would take her place becaus she is a warrior she fights for those she loves. Even though the rest of the people call her a traitor she never lets them get to her. She's strong and listens to her instincts.
@aneal2. Can't wait to read that book.
@bferguson2. I read that Book in fifth grade the ending made me cry.
Title: City of the Beasts
Page: 114
Author: Isabel Allende
I wouldn't want to be any character. I don't know any of them too well. As for those i do, they arn't my type.
@bferguson2
I've watched the movie last year. That's such a sad book...
@SJun2
Don't count on it, i've seen main characters die and not come back. For example, "The Boy in Striped Pajamas."
w
who is w,thats not a name its a neck but your book is good and i cant wait for the movie.
I am currently reading The Rangers Apprentice Halts Peril by John Flanagan. I am currently around page 205. If I could take the place of a character in my book I would choose Will. I would choose Will because he is riding away to get a doctor to save Halt's life. I would like to be Will because I would feel better knowing I was getting the doctor and knowing I was doing something helpful. Instead of watching over Halt while Will was gone.
wlawrence6
whats the books real name,michael phelps?
Sjun2 i would choose eragon also
kflanagan6,
Sounds like a good book. Good description of the Father, seems like an important role.
Astine2,
Sounds like very intresting book. who would u recommend this to?
The book I am reading is called the Red Scarf Girl.The author is Ji Li Jiang. I would take the place of Ji-Li Jiang a twelve year old girl. She is a smart and kind girl and she has a shining future in Chairman Mao's New China.I would be scared to be in her place because she is going through a hard time. Her family was humiliated and riduculed. Plus the time period was difficult and she was brave,which is a quality i wish i had.
The book i am reading is ron howard. I am on page like 20 becasue i just started it. I would be R on Howard becasue he is the only chacter in my book. It is a good book about Ron Howard. It brings out the goods hes done.
I am currently reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I'm on page 383. I would take the place of Peeta because I could take care of Katniss. Katniss loves Peta and if I took his place then I could be sure that she makes it back to him. There has to be only one victor so I would do everything in my power to keep her alive and well. Katniss and Peeta were going to get married and I think they would make a great couple if she survives the Quarter Quell.
Jfox5,
I do like your choice because Madge does not participate in the Hunger Games however, her name is in the Reaping so she can get called.
W,
She actually can be in the Hunger Games if she was called, even though she is luckey that she didn't get called.
So the book i am reading is the hunger game by suzanne collins. if i coould take the place of a character it would be the girl katnis '''BUT I WOULD BE A BOY'''. THE REASON BEING IS BECAUSE I LOVE COMPETITIVE THINGS AND WINNING THEM. I also would take that place because i am caring and protective of my little sisters and if i know that they are weaker then i would absolutely help them and volunteer my self to help them.
bferguson2
I like how you were very detailed
kflanagan6
who would you typically recommend your book the kidnappers to
bferguson
i read that book last year, then i found out there was a movie.
kflanagon
what would you do if your daughter/son was kidnapped?
anichols2:
i loved that movie!(:
bferguson2:
I cried during the movie. ):
My book is dark life by kate falls i am currently finished with it. If i had to be a charachter in my book it would be ty. He is like me in many ways strong, adventures, and likes the water. Also he does all the main things in the story as well. I hope someone else will read thgis book and see how great it is.
Cool book anichols2
Cool story bferguson2
anichols2,
I would to! Skeeter is such a sweetheart and isn't like most of the other girls in the story.
Tish,
AHHHHHH Dear John is my absolute favorite book EVER. I hope you're liking it :)
I am currently reading Wolf Rider by Avi Anderson. I am currently on page 30. I would take the place of the main character's father because throughout the course of the book, he is the only one who nothing has happened to. Throughout all the killing, fighting and terror of this book, Andrew (the main characters)'s father has been at home without injury. Also, Andrew's father gets the most sleep than anyone.
bferguson2, that's a good reason not to choose a character
The book I am reading is called Mercy on These Teenage Chimps. I am on page 87. The author is Gary Soto. If I had to take the place of one of the characters in my book I would take the place of Joey. I would try to come up with a solution to help both of us though our changes. I would also make shore neither one of us has any bananas.
kflanagan6 that sounds like a really great book.
twilson2 which one do you think is better the book or the movie?
I'm reading Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I'm on page 100. If I had to take the place of one character in this book of course i would take place of the main character Katniss Everdeen. She can protect not ohly herself, but her little sister and mother. She saw death, she lives in hard and difficult times she doesn't really know what is happinies. And that's why Katniss is so strong.
lmartinez5
I didn't read this book. But I saw the movie and it is awesome!
abeatty5
i like the title of the book. Sound pretty interesting!
I have just finished reading Dark Life by Kat Falls. If I could take the place of a character in the book I would choose Gemma. I would choose her because she came down from the topside determined to find her brother and she is very brave,curious,and adventurous. For example, after she learned that her brother was an evil outlaw she still wanted to live with him on the ship. This book was a good book and I enjoyed it.
Abeatty5, I agree it was a very adventurous book. What do you think was the most exciting part in the book? I thought it was when Doc used up their air supply and Ty had to call dolphins to escort them to the surface, before they lost to much air.
Kflanagan6, that sounds like an interesting book, I might read it next.
I am currently on page 200 of The Tinkerer’s Daughter, by Jamie Sedgwick. There are many characters that are in tight situations, so I don’t know who I would want to be. But if I had to, I would want to be Breeze, the main character. She “talks” to the trees, she doesn’t have to go to school, and she explores new things everyday with Tinker. I mean, I would love to have no responsibilities and create new inventions!
Anichols2:
I definitely agree with you! I would love to be Skeeter, because she’s writing a story for a good cause.
Astine2:
Ben sounds like a nice person. Is his friend’s cat actually a demon?
EZuy,
Are those books good? I should try reading them, I was really consitering it.
Amanibusan6, that sounds really interesting!!!
@tgarrison2
That sounds like a really good book, and i agree, being that character would be pretty nice
@ Amanibusan6
That sounds like a very good, suspenseful book.
My book is Farewell To Manzanar. It is written by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston. I am currently on page 40 of my book. If I were to take place with one of the characters in my book it would be woody. I chose him because of his leadership and loyalty to the U.S. I also chose him because he is in the U.S army.
I'm reading Titanic Crossing by Barbra Williams and I'm on page fifty eight. If I could take the place of one of the characters right now, I would choose Albert Trask not because he is the main character, but because of his personality. Based on what I know happened to the Titanic, I feel that Albert will fight his hardest to get himself and his family to safety. He has a strong will and a want to get back to Washington. He also has a good heart, he's not hateful and he cares for his family, which I admire.
anichols2, I would take the place of Skeeter, too. Even though she could be outcasted by her 'friends', she still tries her hardest for what's right.
sbouge2, It sounds like Winnie would be an ideal character to take the place of, but not if she gets kidnapped. I mean, she can't live forever like them, but they kidnap her?
I am currently reading Iron Thunder by, Avi. I am on page 8. I would take the place of a boy named Tom Carroll. I would take his place because I have always wanted to live in a war time period (the book takes place during the civil war). Another reason I would want to be him is because kids in his time period had a lot more freedom than they do today. For example a ten year old kid could get a job in the city.
@EZuy6 Have you seen Hunger Games the movie?
@kflanagan6 I completely agree with your character selection.
I am reading In Odd We Trust by Dean Koontz. I am on page 15. If I could take the place of one character in the book it would be the main character Odd Thomas. The reason I would choose him is because he has an eventful life compared to mine. One way his life is more eventful is he can see dead people. One of the famous dead people he sees is Elvis.
I am currently reading Chicken Boy by Frances O'roark Dowell.I am on page 13. I would take the place of Tobin because he is a quiet and shy person and that's how I am. His family is crzy and it reminds me of how my family is. He doesn't seem like a mean person or judgmental. I really like his personality really.
Astine2, the title of your book seems weird. I may want to read it.
Twilson2, I have seen the movie for your book and I have absolutely loved it. I hope you are enjoying your book because it's worth the read.
I am reading Gregor and the Code of Claw by Suzanne Collins and am on page 289. In my book, all of the characters are having a pretty rough time. Gregor, the main character, has to kill the Bane, also ending his life; and he knows it. Also, Luxa has had a very rough life living in the Underland, having her parents killed by rats, her cousins betrayal, and living in constant war. Needless to say everyone else isn't having a good time. I do not think I would want to take the place of any of the characters, but if I had to choose, I think it would be a little kid Hazard. Hazard is Luxa's other cousin. He was put in Luxa's charge when his father was killed in the jungle. He can speak in many languages and is very kind and caring.
JFox5, The Hunger Games series is the best book series I have ever read! I think Madge would be a good choice.
BFerguson2, That movie was the saddest movie I've ever seen!
I'm currently reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K Rowling,and I'm on page 104. If I were to take the place of anybody in my book, I would definitely want to take the place of Hermione. I would want to take the place of Hermione because she is the smartest witch in most likely all of Hogwarts. Also, her two best friends are Harry and Ron. Hermione always knows what she's doing and is the main reason that Harry and Ron were able to solve many mysteries.
Astine2, Ben's friend has a demon cat? What exactly was your book about?
NPegg2, I can understand why you would want to be in that position. From what you described the person staying back with the person that needed the doctor would probably feel helpless the whole time while with the person who needed help.
I'm currently reading Warriors: Bluestar's Prophecy by Erin Hunter. I'm on page 250. IF I were to take the place of any of the characters in my book it would probably be Pinestar the leader of thunder clan. I want to be him because of course that hes a leader. He also takes charge of the clan by any situation may come to him.
@anichols2
I watched the movie I bet the book is better than the movie.
@bferguson2
I heard that story is so sad
The book I am currently reading is "Number the Stars". The author of my book is Louis Lowery. I am currently on page
50.If i had to choose any character it would be a German Soldier. I would choose that because You have athority and choose live by your own rules.
Anichols2, I saw that movie. Good book.
Aneal2, You read a lot! That is good.
I am currently reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I am on page 15. The author of this book is Jeff Kinney. If I could be someone in this book I would be Greg. I would be him because he has a very fun life, even though he is bullied by him brother.
twilson2 , That is a good book.
aneal2 , You read some weird books.
I'm reading max by James Patterson and I'm on page 55. If I could take the place of any character in my book it would be Angel. I would choose Angel because she is a mind reader, which is really cool. Also she can breathe under water who wouldn't want to do that. She can talk to fish, all that is really cool and the coolest thing is she has wings. That is why I would want to be Angel from my book, she is 6 and really awesome.
erlmartinez5 Iliked that movie it was really good.
anichols2 sounds like a good book my mom said the movie was good too.
i am currently reading the book black duck by Janet Taylor Leslie. I am on page 32 and the character i would be is David. He is a crime scene investigator and has children. He even leads a good healthy life.
@Bfergenson2 why are you reading such a cruel book.
@Astine2 a demon cat sounds interesting,
anichols2; i agree if i had to take a place in your book i would be skeeter too
bferguson2; what do you like about your book?
