I'm currently reading Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson, and I only have about 20 pages left. A recent event that happened in my book was that Mattie, the 13 year old main character, grandfather died. They went through a lot together and he was like her best friend. If I was in this situation, I wouold be very sad and not be able to handle myself. Unlike Mattie, who was very mature about it and held herself together. It's a wonderful book & you should read it :)

The book I am currently reading is called The Kidnappers by Willo Davis Roberts. I am currently on page 76. A recent event in the is when the bully at school gets kid napped and the main character tries to tell everyone. However they dont believe him and since the bully is really mean to him, he questions himself why he cares. If i was in his situation i dont think that I would care and i would just pretend like i didnt see it. I also wouldn't want the people who went after him to go after me.

the book i am reading is tresure island by robert louis stevenson. i am on page 63. a recent event would be when pew and his pirate gand storm the Admiral Benbow looking for something, whith the main character, jim hawkins, and his passed out mother hiding under a near by bridge. if that were me, i would just stay under the bridge and wait it out. yeah i'm not letting my self get caught by a band of pirates trying to kill me!

Book: The Upstairs Room Author: Johanna Reiss Page: 5
My book is about a girl at the age of 6 in Holocost and how her and her sister were taken in by a family who they were rude and hateful too. But I would be very grateful for them helping but also very sad for any others in my family who were not there and safe with me. But I can also see why they would be mean instead of being sad they take ot their emotions through anger towards this family. But I am likeing it very much.

The book I'm currently read is Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and I'm on page 167. While Harry is on the train, he makes a decision that isn't very thought through. He chooses to sneak into the Slitherin's cab with his invisibilty cloak and isn't very well at hiding. If I were Harry, I probably would've snuck in, but been much more careful. I would've waited until there was an ideal moment and no one was paying attention to sneak in. That way, I wouldn't get caught like he did, ending up with a bloody nose almost on his way home away from Hogwarts.

bbedell6 said...

jdewitt6, I agree because when I've lost someone really close to me I can't hold all of it in. I either have to sit down and cry my eyes out or fail at trying to keep it in.

bbedell6 said...

kflanagan6, If i were in that situation i would go and tell a teacher or someone who could make a difference. Someone, no matter who and how you feel about them, getting kidnapped is serious and needs to be fixed before it's too late.

My book is dark life by kate falls. I am on page 100.A recent event would be were ty and gemma were exploring a under water cavern. They were lost for almost an hour, and were traped with no way of escape. I would have handeled this situation by not panicing, going some what fast to find a way out, and not moving forward.

I am currently reading Dear John. The author is Nicholas Sparks.I am on page 252. A recent event that happened in my book was that Savanah, left John for another man while he was in the army. They(John and Savanah) spent two weeks together and fell in love. If I was in this situation, I would of stayed with John and I would of tried to rekindle the relationship.I definetly wouldn't of left him for someone else. Overall this is an amazing book and I love it.(:

The book i am currently reading is My Sisters Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I am on page 53. One of the major events that just happened is that kate gets leukemia. If i was put in the situation kates in,I wouldnt no idea what i would do. I dont think i could handle going to the hospital and get treatment. I know if i was put in the same situation i wouldnt feel like myself, all i probably would want to do is just curl up in a ball and just sleep all day.

The book i am reading is Shanghaied by David Paul Collins, i am on page 84. The main character had to paint in a dark hot room on the ship without help. He got cuts and didnt get water the whole entire time he was working. I would have one passed out. I can not handle the heat well enough and i would have probably been breathing hard and just faint. I also would get very scared and try to leave. Things fell down on to him so i would have been very scared. I would be in so much pain and probably would have cried and screamed.

pdixon6 said...

I would want people to believe me. Why would you want to know that you saw something happen and not tell anyone? I would feel so guilty. Why would you want the kidnappers to go after you too? Thats just CRAZY!!!

I am currently reading A wrinkle in time. It is by Madeleine L'engle. I am currently on page 197. A recent event in my book is when Meg, Calvin, and Meg's father have to tesser to another planet so that they can escape the boss "IT," on Camazotz. Charles has been possessed by IT and is under IT's control, so they have to leave Charles on Camazotz. They leave Charles on Camazotz, who is Meg's baby brother. If i were in this situation I would have brought Charles along while they tessered to another planet. They could have gotten IT out of Charles eventually. Calvin was told that he could get it out of him eventually by the people they originally tesered to the planet with.

I'm currently reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling, and I'm on page 71. A recent event in my book is that Harry and Ron took Mr. Weasly's car so they could make it through to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry because the wall was not letting them onto platform 9 3/4. If I was in the same situation as the two of them I think that I would do the same thing as they did. I would definitely do the same thing if I were in Harry's position because I would definitely not want to go live back with the Dursleys. It seems like the reasonable thing to do, even though technically it is breaking a wizard law and they end up practically killing the car.

bhoffmann2 said...

astine2, I watched those movies, I always thought they were kinda weird and out there, how's the book though?

FOOTBALL GENIUS By: Tim Green I am currently on page 80. Well one of Troy's arch enemies Jamie Renfro bet's that the Cowboys will beat the Falcons this weekend. Jamie wagers a signed football and Troy wagers a real NFL football. If I was in this situation I would have never accepted the bet in the first place I would havetold him no so that I could keep my ball. Gambiling is not a good thing to do.

A recent event in my book if when David convinced Adam to sneak away for there class during a field trip. If I was Adam i wouldn't have went with David because they went kayaking in the ocean where sharks were and the could fall in the water and be killed by the sharks.

I am currently reading 'Flipped' by Wendelin Van Draanen. I am on page 76, and I'm really enjoying my book :)
My book is about a girl, Juli Baker, and a boy, Bryce Loski. Juli has had a major crush ever since Bryce moved across the street from her when they were 6. Bryce has always thought of Juli as weird. He doesn't and hasn't ever felt the same about her. But then everything gets flipped, and she realizes who Bryce really is and Bryce begins to fall for Juli. In this situation, when Bryce begins to act like a jerk towards Juli she begins losing her feelings for him. And I would do the same. It's not fair that she's been nice to him all these years and he just doesn't treat her right. She brings him eggs from her chickens, and he throws them out. He doesn't help her when she needs it. He ignores her!
If I had spent a good 8 years trying to get a boy to notice me, first of all, I wouldn't spend 8 dang years, and second of all, my feelings would change too if he all of the sudden began acting like a jerk.

I am still reading Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit and I'm on page 85. A recent event in my book is Winnie starts to get anxiety about being kidnapped by the Tuck family while she has to stya the night. Now, I understand it's not normal to be kidnapped and be fine with it, but Winnie Foster has never left her house and her family is the only thing she's ever known. She should be excited she gets to try new things and have fun while she's away because the Tucks promised they would take her back to her home. Also, she was just thinking of running away from home right before she was kidnapped by the Tucks because her house is really the only place she's ever been at and she wanted to try to explore new places. If I were her, I would definitely take advantage of my opportunites because she's having a great time with the Tucks and she's wanting to go home because that's the only thing she's ever known. Last, her parents and family don't even seem to care she's gone because they haven't gone looking for her yet and don't even really take notice she's not there.

I am reading The Rangers Apprentice. Halts Peril by john flanagan. I am on page 97. a recent event in my book was that Will, Horace, and Halt were on a boat. When a pirate boat came behind them and was pushing them into a bunch of jagged rocks. But halt and will shot the captain with arrows which caused the pirate ship to crash into the rocks and they got away. If I was in that situation i probably would have just jumped off the ship and swam to the shore because I dont think I would have been able to shoot the captain with a bow and arrow.

kflanagan6,
I would do the same. Maybe the bully needs a taste of his own medicine because all he ever does is bully people and make them feel bad about themselves and that's not okay. But if I knew that he was in really serious danger, I think that I would tell an adult because that would be the right thing to do.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your book, Valentine. :)

If i was there i would of just thrown a grenade thew the bunker window and had me and my men move on.

The book I am currently reading is called Cryptic Cravings by Ellen Schreiber. I am currently on page 148. The last problem that occurred in the book was when a vampire named Jagger was about to open a club in Dullsville that has an underground club just for vampires. Having a secret vampire club was very dangerous for people and the other vampires. If I were Raven in that situation, I would have been too afraid to do much of anything. I would ask one of the characters named Alexander to help me stop him. I would not be able to face Jagger alone.

I am currently on page 192 of The Tinkerer’s Daughter, by Jamie Sedgwick. The main character, Breeze, is a little girl that has only had one friend: her father. But when he is sent back to the war, she has to stay with Tinker, an old man that she has never met before who fixes broken objects and creates new ones with old scraps. Honestly, I don’t know what I would do. Part of me would probably run after my dad because I don’t want him to go and something to happen to him. But then another part of me would stay with the Tinker, and deal with it because it’s hard on both of us, so I would try to make it easier for my dad.

I just finished Fire World. It is 562 pages. The author Chris D'lacey. A resent event is that a Aunt dies but in her will she gives someone else life and this book is filled with magic so it actually happens. The problem with this is that it changes the future of their world because the person she gives life is someone from earth and a portrait that the fire birds have is constantly changing because it is a portrait of the future. What happens is that the fight between three world was going in one sides favor but the Aunts will shifted it in the other sides favor.

In the book, the second individual strays to close to a opening in the ruined house in which the two hid. He was spotted and dragged away by the martians. The main character is left alone and is forced to find a way to escape. If i were in his position, i would have waited for the martians to either abondon their crater and then make a run for it, or simply wait for them to neglect their security and use the oppertune moment to make my escape. The entire time, hopeing that they dont notice my disturbance. All in all, im glad i dont have to go through such a stressful expirience. :)

I am currently reading The Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins. I am on page 32. The recent event of my book was the most interesting. The districs have this thing called the Hunger Games and its chosen by a lottery which I think is really cool because we have just read The Lottery in class. Prim is chosen but I am at the part where Katniss volunteers for her sister. I would have done the same thing. If my little brother was choosen to comepete in a game that odds are he would die I would do the same and volunteer in his place. I can't wait to read the rest of my book!

I am currently reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I'm on page 381. One event from my book is when Katniss takes her little sister's place in a cruel sport called the Hunger Games. This sport calls for each of the districts (states) to send a boy and a girl to compete. In all there are 24 contestants who are dropped in the wilderness and left to kill each other. I definitely would have took my brother's place because I really love him and would rather me die than him. Plus, I think I would have a better chance in the games because I think just as cleverly as her. Our strategies are the same: get to high ground. They have worked for her so far so I think I would be just fine.

I'm currently reading Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods by Suzanne Collins, and am on page 83. A recent event that happened in my book was that Gregor (the main character) finds a letter from Vikus saying that Gregor needs to meet him in a passage to the Underland. When Gregor and his dad go to meet Vikus, it turns out not to be him at all, but a giant rat saying they are greatly needed back in the Underland to find a cure for a plague that is starting. When his mom finds out and refuses to let him go, normal rats start pouring into his apartment to drag him there until his mom agrees. It's a really random book, and if I was in the situation I would probably just be freaking out.

So when she first slept in her new house she awoke in their creepy new basement with weird visions about a slave girl calling to her. All Pemba did was ignore it and go to the library so she wouldn't be by the house. Although, If I was in the story I probably would have went up again and tried to figure out what happened. Firestar had to make a decision whether or not to rescue the half-clan cat, Mistyfoot and Graystripe's half-clan kits, Stormpaw and Featherpaw. Tigerstar is a fascist and a xenophobe. Anyways, Firestar, Graystripe, and Ravenpaw went near the Riverclan camp and first found some very disturbing things. Tigerstar and a hill of bones, a hill of bones from prey, that is disrespecting Starclan! Tigerstar announces to Tigerclan that no half-clan cats should be allowed. They are not loyal to one clan and their blood is not pure. They go on to bring out one of the prisoners, Stonefur, and order him to kill Stormpaw. He does not do what he is ordered to do so one of Tigerstar’s Second-in-Command murders Stonefur. The meeting breaks up. Ravenpaw goes to where the prisoners are held captive and tells Tigerstar’s Second-in-Command/guard cats that he has in important message from Tigerstar. The guards leave and Firestar and Graystripe can execute their plan. They rescue the prisoners and bring them back to Thunderclan.

I would have handled the situation on the same way. I would not do anything different to help these cats. There are part Thunderclan and have the right to be in Thunderclan territory.

Wow, a giant, nasty sewer rat. I would be in awe and running in shock and fear. I would probably run into a wall at the same time.

I just finished reading The Strange Case of Origami Yoda. The author is Tom Angleberger. A recent event in my book is Dwight and Harvey had an Origami Yoda duel which Dwight ended up winning. If I was in the book I would have never even gotten in a duel about Yoda. I would have been the bigger person and just walked away.

@TMartinez Your book contains a lot of intresting names.

@nmongo2 The worst thing you can do in your book's situation is go crazy.

My book is Silent Night by Stanley Weintraub and i am on page 75. The book is non-fiction. This makes it hard to change anything about it. The part
I am on now tells how the French and German soldiers, among others,
come out of their trenches and into the area between called no mans land. They exchange handshakes, cigarettes and newspapers. They go about burying their dead side by side, and conduct services together. It is Christmas day and the truce is spreading. Why would I want to change that?

I am currently reading I.Q book one. The author is Roland Smith. I am on page 210. One recent event in the story is when Angela realizes she's being followed. In this situation I would try to find a police or really close relative to always be close to. Then another event happens, Q learns the secret about Angela's real mother she was a secret agent. In this event I would be very shocked and try to see if the information is true.

I am currently reading The Help and on page 48. A problem in the book is that the whites do not want the blacks to use their toilets and so they want to build a bathroom outside for them. Mrs. Hilly's maid Minny uses her inside bathroom during a storm and Mrs. Hilly fires her. I would have not fired her but I would have probrobly gotten mad. I do understand why she fired her but it was not necessary.

anichols2 said...

LRICHEY6,
If you had a gun would you have shot back at them or not?

I am reading Seer of Shadow by AVI and i just finished last week. A recent event that happened in my book was when a teeneage girl burned down a buisness building. This relates to today because of all of the building burnings in Egypt. If I were in this situation, I would be extremely shocked, upset, and I probabaly wouldn't know what to do. I would be shocked because this girl who did it used to be a sweet girl and I would be upset because its a dister.

I am currently reading Eldest by Christopher Paolini. I am on page 267 and the most recent event that's happened was that Roran came up with the plan to leave Carvahall. Since the time of when Eragon brought Saphira's gg from the Spine, the Ra'zac and their soldiers had been tormenting the village for Roran. The village revolted and fought the soldiers. Enraged by this turn of events, the Ra'zacs said that if they gave Roran, they would sell them as slaves, if not, then they would face Galbatorix's wrath. If I was in that situation, I would leave Carvahall because it was either gamble everything you own to survive, or become a slave and more possibly a corpse.

I just finished the Book The fault in our stars by John Green. This book is about a girl named Hazel who has thyroid cancer and the cancer got spread to her lungs. Her mom thinks she is a homebody and depressed so she signs her up for a local support group with other cancer survivors, she hates it so much. While at the support group she meets Augustus Waters who had cancer also and has an amputated leg. He keeps staring at her and won't stop. He then asks her to watch a movie. She agrees, yet I would have gotten to know him better than she did even though he ended up being a very nice person. Also I love this book a lot and I would totally recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

dhileman6 said...

@kflanagan6
Well I would have laughed at that and thought, "Who's tough now?" I wonder how the main character will respond later in the story.

I am reading Iron Thunder by Avi Anderson. In this book Tom Carrel is recruited to go on a military adventure that could possibly determine the outcome of World War II. Tom's only reason for doing this is to support his mother and sister. If I were in this situation, I would probably stay with my mother and sister. Currently on page

I'm reading Warriors: Bluestar's Prophecy by Erin Hunter and I'm on page 108. The recent event in the book was that Pinestar was ready to start a raid after hearing a prophecy. If I were Pinestar I would check and defend to clan 24/7 all the time until Windclan was ready to attack. Or just wait and train my warriors well for a fight. Or I could just have raided in order to protect the clan from destruction.

I'm reading Valley Forge by Newt Gingrich. I'm on page 71. A recent event was that a man's farm was raided by the British, killing bolth of his pet's and taking everything. If Iwas in this situation I would have shot the soldiers, or hid my property better. Where as the farmer stood and watched

The book I'm reading is Hate That Cat by Sharon Creech, and I'm currently on page 150.

Recently, Jack's cat, Skitter McKitter, has run away. What he did was he and his parents tried to call for Skitter, and hoped she would return. What I would've done is that I would've gone out, put up signs, and alerted the town that my beloved kitten was missing.

My book is Johnny Tremain by esther Forbes, and I am in page 30. A recent event in my book is that John Hancock came into the silversmith shop where Johnny works and orders a sugar basin. I would have handled it exactly as the book handles it. That is by keeping a cool head and writing down everything John Hancock said down to the letter.

I am Reading a Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin on page 327.
Recently, Daenerys decided to stay in meereen after watching the people she saved get murdered in the streets. If I were Daenerys, I would have just sailed to westeros after sacking the city. She isn't supposed to be saving a city that she destroyed, she should be claiming her throne
