Blog #1 Due: Friday, 8/29/14

Take a few minutes and look back at last years blog questions and comments.

Pick at least one response that you think is a good example of how to correctly answer the blog.  List the Blog # and the username(athomas1 in Blog #12) and why you think it is a good example of how to get an 'A' on your blog each week.  Also, pick out at least one example of what not to do when answering the blog.  List the Blog # and username and why it is an example of how not to get an  'A' on your blog each week.
Lastly, let us know if you are excited about using the blog or are nervous about it and why.
Your posted response should answer ALL 3 parts.
Do not forget to comment on at least 2 other responses.

805Good example:
Blog #10 11/19/13
@nbrook6’s response
I think this response to this blog question is a great way to get an A, because she used more than 5 sentences, did very well explaining her answer, and was accurate on the book’s information. (I’ve read the book this student was talking about.) I think those are all very necessary in getting a good grade for the blog.
Bad example:
Blog #16 5/5/14
@‪aanzivino6‬’s response
This particular response really stood out to me as something that was said not to do when commenting on the blog. This student used their title and author’s name as one sentence, then used the page number they were on as the second. The teacher’s instructions were that the book information and where you are in the book were all one sentence. Along with that, this student wasn’t very descriptive, and I was rather bored reading his response.
My feelings about the blog:
I was incredibly nervous at first, simply because I am about all electronic assignments. Although, not that I have a clear picture and understanding of what to do now, I’m really excited! It seems like a really great way to learn, share ideas and information, and receive those ideas and information as well. I also see that it brings us together as a class, and makes us closer as classmates.

Nhutto2 in blog #5 is a good example of how to get an “A” because the paragraph is right on point. There are at least 5 sentences and the grammar and punctuation is done well. They answered the weekly question well and in good length and detail. Dmcknight2 in blog #5 is an example of how not to get an “A” because they were not very descriptive and a little vague. Also, some of the punctuation was incorrect. I’m very excited to blog for reading class because it will be easier to turn in my homework and it seems very technological and different from just writing on paper.

jritter2 said...

djouvenas3’s post was a good one because they explained their answer really well. They also had more than 5 sentences! But someone who did badly was Aanzivino6, they had only two sentences. I am not nervous about the blog because I’ve done something similar in P.E. Also I much rather prefer computer based assignments than paper because I really like typing.

kberry2 said...

Acuccia6's blog was a very good example of how to write a blog correctly. She answered the question completely with five sentences, and with many details. On the other hand Nbrook6's blog wasn't very good. He was to vague, he didn't have five sentences, and his sentences were short and clipped. In other words not a very good blog on his behalf.

gpettit2 said...

Tbolton4 in blog #12 was a great example of how to get an A! She used 5 complete sentences, used a couple of questions, and answered the question directly. However, a bad example of how to get an A was mglaeser3 in blog #12. He did not use good grammar or spelling at all. He didn’t even answer the question! I am really nervous about the blogs because this whole thing is new to me. I’m scared that there will be some days where I will forget to do them!

kberry2 said...

i totally agree with you about the computer based assignments!

jritter2 said...

@kberry2
Great blog but you forgot the last part :o

jritter2 said...

@gpettit2
well you got a whole week to remember :D

same here Gpettit this is also new to me

@ shannon turner great response!

lfindley6 on blog 18 is good because it is detailed and explains everything.
For the worst I could find is Hlawson3 on blog 14, because it's not that detailed.
I'm a little nervous about this because I'm worried I won't be able to get it done at times.

gpettit2 said...

@kberry2 awesome blog, but you forgot to say why your are excited or nervous about the blog

drobinson2 said...

I think @acuccia6 did a good job by explaining what Character she wants to be.I can imagine Korie as the most popular girl at school and everyone liking her. Also i can see her being an "A" student.

jglover2 said...

One good example of a blog was amartin3 in blog #18.I think this is a good example because he not only answers the question he goes into great detail about what the topic was like the writer said, “Also all the Jacks have special powers that they use to track and kill their victims. Jack is a silent but deadly killer that uses a sharp knife to thrust into his victims.” Even though he made a minor problem it was still really good. I liked how he provided anecdotes from the story and how he worded it! One of the blogs that I didn’t think was good was acuccia6 in blog #6. The writer did not correctly write a response that answers Ms. A Thomas’s question, therefore making it not completely whole. The writer did not give specific details or explanations and the blog was somewhat boring to me. The writer seems to have not even put 5 sentences, which is the minimum of sentences you are allowed to write. Lastly, I am very excited to use this blog because I feel like it will be helpful to track my progress with my book. Thank you!!

Shannon Turner, Nice blog, I'm a little nervous too.

Rqualls4 on Blog # 13 did a very nice job answering the question for the week. She listed the book name and the number of pages there are in the book. She recommended a friend and gave a few reasons why like how there is a movie coming out soon on the book. She also gave five amazing sentences. This is a great example on how to answer the blog for the week.

debanks7 said...

jritter2 had a very intelligent response. He kept the number of details at a reasonable amount. He also was very critical in his wording and is an ideal model of how to get an “A”. Unfortunately, Someone who isn’t an example of this is @grefore6. I am somewhat nervous as to how this is going to turn out for me. When I say “this” I mean blogging.

drobinson2 said...

I think @acash3 did a not so good job because she only read 10 pages.
Also she didn't give enough details. It also didn't have that many sentences. But other than that she did a okay job.

pbennis2 said...

I think that @tbolton4 , Blog #15, is a good example of how to correctly respond to the blog. I think it’s an easy “A” because she used great grammar and punctuation. She also used much more than five sentences. She also was very descriptive about describing the main characters and where they stand in the story. She used several details to help make more people understand the story that she is reading. However, @tnegron3 , Blog #10, has a good example on how not to receive an “A”. He used lots of improper grammar, misspelling many words. He also did poor with correctly using punctuation. He forgot commas and apostrophes in some places. And I’m actually somewhat excited about the blogs because I really like to type.

bwilson2 said...

Kbailey6 blog #16 is a good example of a blog because it was very long and well formatted. Also she was very detailed about what she wrote she used very good grammar, spelling, and punctuation. She used very descriptive language to explain her book. A bad example of a blog is Mwebster4 blog # 12. It did not use any details nor did it meet the length criteria. He used some off topic ideas for his response like the movie Dumbo for example. I’m nervous about using the blog because I do not type very fast and I like to write stuff out especially longer responses.

rabram2 said...

Bking3 on blog #8 did a god job, because she gave good details about her book and about her main characters. She had 6 great sentences that answers the questions of the blog. She gives me enough detail to decide on if I would like to read the book or not. A good example on what not to do is athomas6 on blog #9 because he didn’t use 5 sentences and he didn’t properly answer the question. This year I’m excited about doing blogs every week and hearing about what others are reading.

drobinson2 said...

I'm okay with doing the blogs. But like I'm not good with doing Homework so I'm kinda nervous about how the blog might effect my grade. But other than that I'm cool with the blog.

rabram2 said...

jglover2 I like how your used lots of detail.

asantos2 said...

czunkel3 in Blog #15 shows a great way to get an "A" because his/her paragraph explains the topic perfectly. He/she answered every he question with good writing. hmarder4 in blog #15 is the perfect example of how not to get an "A". He/she uses terrible spelling and uses the same word excessively every time she starts a new sentence. He/she doesn't use any new vocabulary and didn't even think about spelling. I am intrigued about writing a blog for reading class every week because i is something that is new for a change than writing on paper all the time.

tsullah2 said...

@nbrook6’s response I think this response to this blog question is a great way to get an A, because she used more than 5 sentences, did very well explaining her answer, and was accurate on the book’s information. Nhutto2 in blog #5 is a good example of how to get an “A” because the paragraph is right on point. There are at least 5 sentences and the grammar and punctuation is done well. Also I feel like cnechodom4 didn’t do such a good job on his blog response because he was revering to a person named Troy like everyone knew Troy.

a good example about blogs is like when describe about the book you read and how the story is basically going and how the person likes the book and the how many pages they read and Sphillips4 had a very good blog by how she/he explained there self she used lots of details and more than one sentence like it was like 5 and i think this would get you an A

I think that @Jzhang6’s entry in blog #18 is a good example on how to write a blog. He or she used proper grammar and wrote more five sentences! I also love the detail and reasoning on why they would choose to be that character. I think he/she did an amazing job! However, I think @cparker3 in blog #18 did the complete opposite. He or She didn’t name I character they wished to be or why they would to be them. Also, @cparker3 only wrote four sentences instead of five. I believe that that user could have done a much better job and his blog was poor.
Also, I am rather nervous about this whole blog thing. I don’t know exactly why. I just don’t really like sharing my opinions or talking much I suppose. That is about it.

fbougher. said...

I think that
JHerrera4's comment on blog #11 was a good example of how to get an A because of the way they managed to not only make a lengthy comment, but also give both sides of a debate on the subject. its very important to look at both ends of an argument and present ideas from both while also making your point lean to the side you are on, which is exactly what they did. another important factor is that they managed to make the post long. that in itself is important because its not only a requirement of the assignment but also allows for them to get in as much information as possible and make a point clear.
Bad example: an example of a post with a noticeable lack of effort is
Hlawson3's post on blog #10.
where as most of the other students provided close to a paragraph of information, this person only made a few sentences that barely provide information. it's too brief and repetitive. it fills in the gaps with the same words over and over and fails to use any vocabulary that isn't overly basic.

In response to the question of excitement, I don't really find myself to excited over typing up comments for a few questions, and I'm not nervous in the least. to me this is just another basic assignment.

rohlendorf2 said...

Aanzvino6 has a bad example of a book response. They don’t have their title and page number in the same sentence. They don’t give a lot of description. Only chose because of cover and title.

pbennis2 said...

@gpettit2 Great response! And i'm pretty nervous for the same reason too!

What not to do:
ACuccia6 blogs aren’t good examples because I looked through a couple of blogs of her and noticed that on blog 2 when she started, she was reading Miracle on 49th street. Blog 4 she was reading a different book and states she was on page 20, but blog 3, 5, and 6 she doesn’t say what number page she was on. And she says pretty much the same thing every time she stuck her nose in a new book. Also almost all of her blogs were at most 4 sentences through all of the ones I saw she didn’t impress me once. If you don’t want an A do exactly what she did.
What to do:
TBolten4 blogs were outstanding, because every time I looked at hers it had everything it needed. Like 5 sentences and they were more than just amazing. Here blogs supported the book I feel like I just read it. She had the page number every time and I don’t think she missed not one blog. So If you want an A+ do exactly like TBolten4 and your guarantied what you deserve.

I am currently reading Farenhiet 451 by Ray Bradbury and am on page 25.
I chose this book because it had a very interesting premise. A dystopian/Utopian universe where the reading of books is outlawed. These types of books always caught my attention because I like to examine the possible futures dreamt up by various authors. The main character is also a very compelling character. He has a job that requires him to burn books en mass but he searches within himself when he meets a girl who seems to live in a past who completely distorts Montag( the main character)’s perception on life. The sheer immersiveness of the characters greatly increases the enjoyment one can get out of the book.

@amartin3 great blog!

Blog#16 kkaufmann6 He/She tells what they think the author of Paper Towns had to do. He/She is pretty just telling what the author must have done. I think telling it plain like kkaufmann6 did is the way to get an “A”. Blog#17 blythgoe4 I think this is person blog is not the way to get an “A” because. He/She was just rushing through it, well that’s what it looks like at least. I am nervous about using the blog because I think I might not be able to always get them in on time.

acuccia6 in blog#18 is a good example of how to get an a on the blog because she/he is really descriptive of why she typed what she typed.Plus she typed all 5 sentences, typed the title and what page she was on.
mrosario4 in blog#18 is not a good example because she/he did not write 5 sentences and was not descriptive of what he wrote.
And last i'm not nervous about the blog. Why? Because i think it will be easy, the only thing I'm halfway nervous about in this class is the independent reading assignment.

i like @amartin blog number 2 2013 that person gives very good detail about his book. he/she states the character name and he/she states what the person in the book does.that's a good example of getting a "A" in reading, very nice example. a bad example is @blythgoe may 15 blog #11 that person doesn't give enough detail to the book. they dont state what he character does, all they said is they have a nice personality not a very good example.

This is not a good example of a proper blog because this person only used three sentences to do it, and the sentences are very small his or her blog. @tdaigle6 on blog #10.This would be known as wonderful example of a great blog post because it contains at least five sentences, gives great detail, and expresses main and key points. @yalvarez6 on blog #9. These are some good and bad examples of how a blog is done in Mrs. Thomas’s reading class. I am both nervous and excited for the things that this blog will bring in the near future, because I will get to learn so much and also get to express how I feel about it.

Kkauffmann6 is a good example to getting an “A” when blogging because he includes the title, author, and the pages. Kkaufmann6 also includes some details about the story like the author traveled a lot and he names the some of the places that he traveled to one was New York and he included Orlando. I feel like kkaufmmann6 could have told about more of the places he went because he said that the author traveled over the world he could have told of more places the author traveled but other than that he did a wonderful job on the blog.

Hlawson3 in blog #10 showed how it's done to post a summary about the title, author, page number, and the weird question of the blog to earn an "A". The person gives a detailed and descriptive answers. Has at least 5 sentences, the only downside was that he spelled horror "horroe". This person is a great example on the blog. Also I read a little bit of the "Stone Child" and it's a good book with a great plot.

A Good Example:
@Jlett6 on Blog Post #13 was a good example of a A on a blog grade. This person used correct grammar, and had complete sentences. Their response was simple and to the point. I think they did an overall good job.

A Bad Example:
@Astarke4 on Blog Post #13 had a very odd post. They didn’t finish their fifth sentence. It sort of ends as “It is a very funny….” I was confused when I first read this comment. They were defiantly not getting an A.

I’m not too excited about the blog post. It was all a little confusing at first to me. I’m sure after a few posts, ill warm up to it.

i think that kbergman3 had a really good blog. they had great sentences more than five and did a wonderful job explaining it. i think that tjensen6 had a good example of what not to do because he had short sentences that really did not make any sense and he did not do a good job of explaining it eaither. i am acually really exited about the blog because i will get to comper what i think to what outher people think about the subject wheather reading or books i am really looking fowerd to the rest of the blogs

Sphillips4 in blog #18 is a good example of how to get an A on the blog because it has way more sentences then needed. It also has 2 comments and is very detailed. Gamiller6 in blog #18 is an example of how not to get an A because there are a lot of words misspelled. There was also words that were not capitalized. I am kind of nervous about it because last year I was not the best at keeping up with stuff like this.

alandi4 said...

@rglover2 I liked that you used a lot of detail in your response that’s how to get an “A”. @qnuttall6 in blog 16 went on too much and got confusing at some parts. Repeating words over and over will not get you an “A”. I’m not nervous about the blog because we did a blog in gym last year, it was easy to do every week. So I am excited for doing the blog and seeing what others are reading.

Tbolton4 in blog #13 is a great example on how to get a good grade on the assignment. They answered the questions in detail and they had six sentences. Apeterson6 in blog #15 is a very bad example on how to get a good grade because they only had two sentences and didn’t read the book yet. They also didn’t answer the question that was asked of them at all. I am nervous about using the blog because if I mess up all the other kids will be able to see my mistakes.

Mglaeser3 in blog #11 is a bad example due to the improper grammar and spelling. It was a little hard to understand what they were talking about.

One good example of how to receive an A on a blog is in blog number 12. The user jlett6 used good vocabulary, answered the question correctly, had five amazing sentences, and all of jlett6’s sentences flowed together. However, one not so good example of how to get an A is in blog number 10. User Hlawson3’s response contained short choppy sentences and an incorrect answer to Mrs. A. Thomas’ question. Lastly, I am excited to use the blog because I feel like homework will be easier to turn in and easier to complete.

Nhutto2 from blog #9 is a good example because he/she was very descriptive with what he/she was saying. He/she answered the question very clearly and had more than the required amount. Pblangor5 is a bad example of what to do because, he/she didn’t use words appropriate for the assignment. He/she used words like ‘apparently’ and didn’t even meet the minimum number of sentences for his/her post. I don’t really feel too great about writing my homework on a website where other students ‘judge’ my work.

Sphillips4 in blog #15 is a good example on how to get an “A” or a good grade. They answered the question in great detail and answered the question completely by telling us who the main character was and told us what she would like if she were to have any social media. czunkel3 in blog #13 is an example of how to get a bad grade. They answered the question in very little detail and 4 sentences and the required number was 5-6. I am excited about using the blog because it means I don’t have to spend so much time writing and that makes me happy because I hate writing.

@JHerra4 on blog #12 is an excellent way to get an A on the blog each week because he or she gave great detail and word choice and have also answered the question to the blog right. But @acuccia6 is a bad example of how to get an A on the blog each week because he or she didn’t fully answer the question that was asked and didn’t reach the required sentences told to write. I am not all that excited or nervous for the blog. I’m not nervous about the blog because it’s just like texting except you have a given question you have to answer for a grade. Also I’m not excited for the blog because as much as I love to write/type it’s nothing new to what I have done before.

Jmobley3 on blog #14 is a good example because they answered the question exactly right and with detail. They explained very well what their important word is. They made me know exactly what the word meant and why it was the most important word in the book.
Harisonk6 on blog #14 is a bad example because their details are so undescriptive that I don’t even understand what they were saying. Also their spelling wasn’t very good. Lastly they didn’t do very well on punctuation or capitalization.
I am nervous about using the blog because I’m not very good at writing. Also because it’s more work to do. :(

A good example at how to receive an ‘A’ would be apeterson6 on blog number 14. They used great description and had good reasoning for their answer to the question. It was well thought out. On blog number 15, acollazo6 did not do a great job. They sounded like they were listing things instead of doing an ‘A’ worthy paragraph. The student also lacked detail and the grammar was not well put together. Lastly, I am excited to use the blog because I think it will make it easier to complete homework. I have worked with blogspot before and greatly enjoyed it. I look forward to it this year.

rcortes5 said...

I like JHerrera’s response in Blog #12 because it met the 5 sentence rule and stayed on point onto what the question was. They used descriptive details to explain the book. A way not to get an “A” on the blog is HLawson3’s response in Blog #7 because they did stay on point but when they said if it was a movie who would play the characters, they chose who but didn’t explain why they chose the actors they preferred for the movie. I am nervous to use the blog because I never know if I could forget to the blog since I don’t get on the computer that often anymore. I still like the idea of using technology for keeping track of your reading, instead of paper.

Acuccia6 in blog # 18 was a great example on how to get an A because they responded to the blog precisely and excellent. I love the way they showed why they would take the place of their character because they gave a description of their character and why they like him / her. Cjones4 in blog 17 wasn’t a good example because their grammar and spelling was all off. They misspelled a lot of word and they didn’t really express on why they pick that book. I am exited on using the blog because its unusual and different.

JPerkins5 said...

I think Tbolton4’s reply from blog #16 was a great reply because she answered her question clearly and used evidence from the book. She spoke about how she believed the author researched before writing their book because of the many scenes and characters that would have taken background information to be able to write about, it made me understand her point much better than I would if she didn’t give background on her book. I also read the reply from apetersen6 on blog #13 which I felt wasn’t a very good reply to the blog and probably wouldn’t get as many points as Tbolton’s reply would. Apeterson used less background information about her book to describe why she felt the way she did about her blog reply, and it was harder to understand where she was coming from because of that. I love the blog system! I’ve always felt more teachers should do activities on the computer I may just feel that way because I’ve used computers since I was about 5 years old and I love them but I think the blog is easier and a little more fun than writing a whole paper!

mrossi4 in blog #15 Is A Good Example Of How To Get An "A". It Has A Lot Of Description In It. It Has More Than Five Sentences. Apeterson6 In Blog #15 Is A Bad Example Of How To Get An “A”. Only Has Two Sentences. She/he Wasn’t Very Descriptive.

Afarlin5 said...

I think that ehunziker4 on blog #10 is an example of an “A” blog. This person was descriptive and did all the requirements on the blog. They followed each and every step and completed each question and did a very nice job. cmarquez3’s on blog #17 was correct on their post but, they only had 4 sentences. This takes off ten points off of your grade and this is why this blog post was not how you get an “A” on your blog. I am also a little nervous to use the blog because I don’t always have internet access and I sometimes get to school too late to go to the media center. I don’t really want to get a bad grade for not being able to do my blog but other than my internet issue I like the blogs.

I think kaesposito4 on blog #7 did a good job on how to get an A on a blog. He/she showed great detail and only 1 spelling error. He/She recognizes his/her point and tells it on point. Someone who did not do a good job is cnechodom4, he/she did not give a full answer and not too many details. A good example of a comment would not be tbolten4, all he/she said was that it was good, no detail or reasons. Although jritter2 on #1 did do a good job because he/she put details on why it was a good blog, and that was a good answer overall.
I am excited for blogging because it gives something to do with technology and it will keep up on our reading.

I think that tbolton4 on blog #17 is a good example of how to get an A on the blogs. She was descriptive of the book and she had good punctuation and grammar, it answered the questions, and it was more than five sentences. I think that qnuttall6’s post on blog #10 isn’t a good example of how to get an A on the blog. I think this because his paragraph was not at least five sentences… it was four. I am really excited to use the blog. I am excited because I love using computers. This will make it a lot easier for me to do my homework because I can do it on my phone and computer.

@Dgriswold5
I think mrossi4 in blog #15 gives a good way to get an (A). They answered the question correctly and with much thought. Also #15 by mrossi4 is a good example because it give more than 5 sentences. Another person who gives a good example to get a good grade is jclarke3 in blog #18 because of his great vocabulary and descriptive answer. A bad example on how to get a good grade is nbrook6 on blog number #16 this person had bad grammar and bad punctuation. Another bad example is blythgoe4 in blog #18 I feel this person was not taking their time to do the work assigned to he/she there is spelling errors and sloppy work placement. I feel the blog is a great replacement for a reading log this feels way less traditional

ddavis5 said...

Qnuttall6 in blog 13 is a good example of an “A” because they gave a good reason of why they think their friend will enjoy the book, and included a brief a description of the book. Of what not to do, his response to the question was too brief with barely any details. I’m excited about the blog because it’s a new way to do homework .I’m also a little nervous because it’ll be a little hard to remember to do.

It sounds very interesting and makes we want to read it. I also enjoy how you gave a great example of the books theme. You use background knowledge of the book and gave explicit details of what’s going on in this book. I really enjoyed your post and it was really good!

JHerrera4 did a good blog about his book. To me this is a good way to get an A. HE had over 5 sentences and they were well write. She/he did a great good on their blog. Apetersen6 in week 15 did not give a good example he was poorly written and he did not answer the blog. He said he was on page one when the blog was due, I think he didn’t read at all he/she did not want to do the blog. If the blog was due then he should start reading before the blog was due. Also he /she only put two for week 15 blog. There must have been some excused for not reading the book and only putting two sentences.

I think that JClark3 in blog # 17 was a great example on how to get an A on your reading blog because, they have all of their 5 sentences. They answered all the questions on the post and not a lot of errors in their comment or post. Also they commented on 2 of their class mates’ responses. The response that I think that most likely will not get an A on their reading blog is jmobley3 on blog # 17 because, they didn’t answer all the questions on the post. They’re a little bit of spelling errors and to me the sentences were too short. I am very excited about the reading blog because we don’t have to write on paper every night saying what we read that day and we get to use computers to do our homework every week.

dgreek5 said...

I think @cnechodom4 comment is really good. Because they really put some detail into their blog. They also included some really interesting details. They explained how great it would be to switch places with the person in their book. Also, they exceeded the amount of paragraphs in a blog post. They put in seven! This should be an inspiration to all who read this to make sure your blog is longer and filled with more detail. If this person still went to this school id congratulate them and make them know that I think their blog is great!
I think @lfindley6’s blog isn’t detailed enough for a person to recommend the book. They should’ve put more exiting details instead of saying ‘I want to be him. I would change this.’ I fell you need to add something ‘juicy’ to the post and make sure that you grab the reader’s attention. Honestly I didn’t really think I’d read the book from this post. I knew from the way it was so short and too narrow for me to really know anything. Although they are on page 200, I still think they should’ve gotten enough detail too put into this blog that they could interest readers.

I think @kbergman3 on blog 17 had a great response. He summarized the book a little and told us why he is so interested in it. He also used very descriptive details that someone would find on the back of a book! I think this is a great example on how to get an A on blog assignments. This person described the character so descriptive and clearly it makes me want to read the book! Another great thing about this post is that I love how they told us how they love these types of books. So that we know how interested they are in this, which makes it more interesting to read! I think @apetersen6 does not use too many details, and doesn’t really gives us too many details on why her friend would like it. I think blogs are a great thing because you can express your feeling on them and it’s a great and easy way to communicate with one another.

Ehouston4 in Blog #12

I feel that he should have elaborated more on his book. Also he has some punctuation errors and maybe should reread his summary before submitting it. All in all it’s good that he tried at least. You can all ways get better by trying and fixing your errors.

JHerrera4 in Blog #12

Her summary was amazing, fantastic, wonderful, but it needs a little bit of sparkle. Meaning she needs to add more vocab and you use different words other than “adventuresome/thrilling”. It is good though she described her thoughts on the book, she added more sentences then needed. Also she described the book well, I was very much attached to that book that she made me kind of want to read it. She did a great job on her blog!

I am very much eager to use this blog. It’s very much different from pen and paper. Also it’s like an update because doing it on a piece of paper would have been a little boring. However, this idea @athomas1 had is a wonderful idea. Applause to you and thank you for making it easier to do our homework.

I like
how @acash wrote her response because she use great details and descriptions and the theme of the book he/she is readying. And this response would actually have a good grade because it was well typed and nicely posted.
@tjohnsons4 you should use more descriptions and details in your pot because you’re supposed to have at least 5 sentences in your comment. So this wouldn’t get a good grade.

Hlawson3 had a wonderful blog. He/she mentioned the book title, the author of the book, and the page number that she is on. He/she also gave a good explanation about why she would be a character in the book that he/she was reading. His/her book was Needful Things by Stephen King and she was on page 497. He/she also had a 5 sentence explanation on her blog. This is why this person would have gotten an A.
Mrosario4 had an awful blog. He/she mentioned the book title and author but didn’t capitalize it. He/she did mention that he/she read 323 pages, that’s good. To me, he/she didn’t really explain a lot about his/her character. Also, he/she didn’t type a 5 sentence blog. This is why this person would not have gotten an A.

Hlawson3 is a bad example of an A blog. That is because he only has three sentences and the blog is supposed to have five sentences. Unlike that one, here is a good example of a blog; Jlett6, because he had 6 sentences and only a couple errors. They are both from blog #8 2013. Although they are both good Hlawson3 probably didn’t get an A because his was not 5 sentences, only three.

(Mrossi4 on blog 16) I believe Mr. or Mrs. Rossi did a fantastic job on her blog because it was over five sentences and described the blog to perfection. They gave all the details about how Rick Riordan must have done a lot of research on Greek mythology to write all the books he did on the mythology. (Hlawson3 on blog 16) Mr. or Mrs. Lawson didn’t have an “A” quality work on his blog about the research. They didn’t give anywhere close to the enthusiasm or effort in the blog. It was very short with not very much detail about the blog and looked like he just repeated himself until he got to five sentences. Last, but not least my opinion on the blogs. I had blogs last year in Mrs. Cheshire’s reading class and I had a hard time remembering the blogs because of all the other homework. She would remind everyone but somehow I would still manage to let it slip out before the end of the day. Since I have the Sixth period class hopefully I will remember it more and I would love if you gave plenty of reminders to the class to remember.
