I'm reading "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green and I am on page 76. The genre of my book is realistic fiction because its just about a small town girl with cancer who meets a boy she likes. These things can happen in real life, which is why its realistic fiction. I'm really enjoying this book so far. It has lots of conflict, which is always interesting, and a little bit of true love which I really like.

Currently I am reading The Giver by Lois Lowry. I just started reading so I am on page 6. The genre of the book is Realistic Fiction because Jonas (main character) on his twelves b-day will receive a special training from The Giver; which could happen. I don't know a whole lot but from what i've read it sounds pretty good.

The book I am reading is called Showoff, by Gordon Korman, and I am on page 9. The genre of my book is realistic fiction. I think this because it is about a group of friends that have a doberman pincher. And they enter him in a dog show. From what I have read the book sounds good. But I haven't read that much so I have no room to judge it.

(blog #2) I am currently reading “The Raft” written by S.A. Boden and I am on page 8 so far. The genre of the book is realistic fiction. I know this from all the events in the book which are possible but have not happened as yet. It is about a girl named Robie who wants to stay with her aunt for the weekend. However, when her aunt has to leave for an important business trip, Robie has to go home to her boring parents. So they make a deal that one of her aunt’s friends must come and check on her once per day. When that friend cannot come every day, Robie does not tell her aunt because she fears that she will have to go home. Therefore, she keeps it from her aunt. So far I am enjoying the book; it is very entertaining.

I was previously reading a book called "So B. It" by Sarah Weeks during the book check, I finished the book. "So B. It" is contemporary realistic fiction because it is about a girl who is taking care of her mentally disabled mother with the help of her neighbor who has angora phobia, and she goes to the place her mother was found in a picture to find out who she really is. The story could happen in real life, but didn't, also some scenes in the book made it seem like it was placed modernly, or today's time. As i read the book i loved it. There were plot twists, and more mystery than i expected, a really great book. jsmagnus4, good descriptive details, the book your readings sounds pretty good. hmaestre3,sorry about how disappointing your book is. But maybe it'll get better. You did a good job on explaining it, though.

I’m reading “Mockingjay” by Suzanne Collins and am on page 63. The genre of this book is realistic fiction because the story has a war and the characters don’t show any traits that can’t happen. These things can happen in real life, which is why I have chosen this genre. I have really liked this book so far and am looking forward to finishing it. The story has a lot of conflict which is always between Katniss Everdeen and the president.

I am reading The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, I am on page 45. The genre of my book is Fantasy Fiction, I know this because it talks about a Hobbit (a member of an imaginary race similar to humans, of small size and with hairy feet.) and the tales of his adventure, accompanied by Dwarves, a Wizard, Elves, etc.

I am really enjoying the book so far, it's a great adventure story that really sucks you into the story.

I am reading "Football Genius" by Tim Green and I am currently on page 26. So far I think this book is realistic fiction. This is because Troy is a regular boy that is the second-string quarterback in football. He is way better than the first-string quarterback and they don't get along at all. They are always fighting at practice and games. That happens in real life all the time so I think it's realistic fiction. I am enjoying the book so far. I like books that are about sports and that have a conflict between two people.

Currently I am reading “The Death Cure” By James Dashner and I am on page 279. The Genre of the book is Realistic Fiction, because the earth really could be scorched by solar flares and it would lead to the world having to move closer to the poles, if they hadn’t died from the heat. Also a disease like The Flare could be created in a lab for warfare, that eats away at you brain, driving you insane and cannibalistic. Right now I am not enjoying the book that much, first of all “The Maze Runner” and “The Scorch Trials” were by far much better because “The Death Cure” is slightly too face paced and is confusing to me. It may not be confusing to others but I enjoyed the others in the trilogy.

I have just finished The Paladin Prophecy by Mark Frost. I believe the book is fantasy with a little bit of science fiction. The reason being, Will West, he has magical powers as well as some other people. The bad guys (called black caps) and some other enemys are trying to kill him using themselves, and monsters from a world called the "never was". The science fiction part: there is advanced technology involved including Hi-tech tablets that creates a real version of you in an electronic form. There is also a cube that shows information. I really enjoyed the book and I cant wait till I have the next one to read.

I am currently reading Lost in the River of Grass by Ginny Rorby and I am currently on page 35. I think the genre I think the book is realistic fiction because so far what I’ve read it’s about a girl who goes to the Everglades on a field trip and meets a boy. The books has me wondering what’s going to happen next because they are about to go on an airboat ride. The main character (Sarah) doesn’t have too many friends so she fakes being sick to go on the boat ride with Andy. I’m wondering if she’ll get caught but have fun on the boat ride or will she think the boat ride will be a waste of time.

Im currently reading the Raft by S. A. Bodeen and I'm on page 131. The genre is realistic fiction because some of the events that happened so far could happen in real life. I'm really enjoying my book. I'm not really into reading books. So I never knew how good a book really was until now.

I am currently reading "Dreamsleeves" by Coleen Murtagh Paratore and I am on page 23. This book is realistic fiction because it is about a possible, real-life situation. Its about a girl who is dealing with complicated things in her life and is trying to make them non-existent by not giving up. I am actually enjoying it a lot so far because it's a book relatable to my life in some ways. I get more interested in books that I can relate to or understand.
@hdoan5 , Great response! That sounds like a very fascinating book.

The cliff hangers have been good to because i've been reading this in extra time for class and independant reading time.

I am reading "Sliverfin" by Charlie Higson and I am on page 25. The genre of my book is realistic fiction because a boy that was home schooled by his aunt is now in a school with dorms. These things can happen in real life, which is why it is realistic fiction. The book is okay right now, but I think it will get better. The reason why I think that is because in the prologue (which I did not include in the pages) had a lot of action...

I am currently reading “The Lions of Little Rock”, by Kristen Levine; I’m on page 18.
The genre of my book is historical fiction. Its historical fiction, because it take place in 1958 and it deals with segregation in it am really enjoying this book because I have been in a friend ship where the mother or parent didn’t accept me, so I can really relate to this book. Plus, it’s very descriptive and interesting where I want to keep turning the page to read on. Also, I think the moral of the book is very good, because they are saying how friend ship is more than skin deep; which is very important.

I am reading Heat by Mike Lupica and I am on page 42. The genre of the book is historical fiction and realistic fiction because there are people and places that are real but it is completely made up story. I can prove that it is fiction because El Grande ( A New York Yankee Pitcher in the book ) is not a real pitcher ever for the Yankees. Everything else in the book can happen in the book otherwise. The book has a lot of dramatic parts and very interesting situations that are fun to watch play out.

Yes I am enjoying the book it’s pretty good. The book is slow right now within the story, but I think it will speed up. The book is just like a murder mystery to me because it’s slow in the being, but it’s like boom there is the murder.

I am reading “the trouble with half a moon” by Danette Vigilante and I am on page 63.the genre of my book is realistic fiction. I know its realistic fiction because on page 28-29 it states ‘time to get things started (the teacher says) and he introduced himself as mr. dumbrewski, which the class of 7th graders thinks is very amusing, and a student says “dumbwho?” I know this is realistic fiction because this happens all the time in real life when teachers or students have weird first or last names. I am enjoying this book because I can really relate to what dellie, the main character goes through.

The book I am reading is called Scat by Carl Hiaasen, and I am on page 110.As far as I can tell the book's genre is realistic fiction because all the main characters either work at or go to school. Another example, the the book's genre is realistic fiction, would be that one of the main characters, Nick Waters, has a dad who is part of the National Guard and gets his arm blown off by a rocket in Iraq.

I really do enjoy this book! It has lots of suspense and pieces that slowly come together; which is my type of book. I'm excited to finish and see how it ends.172

A good girl and a and a bad boy can actually fall in love, you can have an unsuccessful family, and you could spray paint the school floors. You would get in trouble for it of course. How To Turn A Good Girl Bad is an amazing book and I am loving it. I can't wait to finish it!!
