The two books I'm going to be comparing and contrasting are “All the lovely bad ones "and “Lost time”. A comparison I can make about them is that both books are family oriented. Also another one would be that they are both fiction novels. A contrast about the two books are that “All the lovely bad ones” are more realistic fiction and “Lost time “ is more of the adventure type book. Another contrast would be that “All the lovely bad ones” is a more modern book and "Lost times” is a book that seems to take place in a futuristic time. My book is called “Lost time” the author is Susan Maupin Schmid and I'm on page 17

I am reading diary of a wimpy kid by Jeff Kinney and i am on the 118 page. the last book i read was by rick roidan called 39 clues. they both include boys as the main character and they are both the same age.the also include side characters that go along with the main character. As contrast,they have different genders for the side character and the main characters are not both bad people/antagonist.

I am currently reading The city of ember by Jeanne Duprau and I'm on page 47. The book I am going to compare with is the last book I read which was Rules by Cynthia Lord. One comparison that these books have is that they are both strict in rules like the mayor wants you to follow exactly what he wants you to do in The city of Ember and in Rules the main character Catherine wants her brother to follow the rules she makes for him. Another comparison is that both main character are girls. The differences is that in rules she lives a normal life but in The City Ember the girl lives in a city underground where there is no light. Another difference is that the girl in the cirty of ember the girl likes to run and explore and in rules she likes staying home and making cards or drawing.

I am still reading twilight by Stephen Meyers. I am on page 205.Edward and Anna are alike because they’re both romantic and their both happy. Their different because Edward likes to be flirty and be more than friends. And Anna doesn’t really care that much about loving boys. Another thing is that Anna is very emotional and Edward not so much. Anna is from love is not what you think.

I am currently reading the Unstoppable in the series 39 clues by Jeff Hirsch and I am on page 10. I am comparing or contrasting the previous book I read was the Bully by Paul Langan. One way both of the novels are alike is because the each character is facing an obstacle or trying to get away from someone or something. For example Darrell is running from his problems such as a bully . In the book I am reading now the Cahill family is running from Pierce and his men. One way the two stories are different is because they both have obstacles but they are facing different kind of obstacles in each book.

jedwards said...

How each family oriented? @aafleming2

That sounds like a great book to read! @sbell4

I am currently reading the book "The deadly catch" by Damien Graves. I am currently on page 10. these two books are very similar. They are both set in a water enviroment. Also they are both about large animal encounters. they are different because Chomp my last book is set in Florida, while this book failed to mention where they are on the globe. this book is also different this book is about two friends that are just visiting this water setting while in the book chomp the main character Wahoo lives in that water setting.

rparent5 said...

the book i am reading is RWBY: Rifts of Fate i cant really say im comparing it to one story but i can say this book connects to a lot of the know people like snow white red riding hood and beauty and the beast and many others.

The book that I'm currently reading is Prisoner by Alan Gratz and the book that I'm comparing it to is Torn by Margaret Peterson Haddix. 1 thing in common that they have is that the main characters are both males
Another thing that they have in common is that they both go through something crazy in the story. 1 thing that they don't have in common is that in Prisoner he goes through much more. Another thing that they do not have in common is that in Torn they time travel and in Prisoner they don't. He only wishes he can to get out of the place he is.

arodriguez6 said...

@jtrumpyo2
That seems cool. I never read a book like that.

I am currently reading "If I Stay" and am on page 103. The last book I read was paper towns by John green. I would compare the two books because they are both about a guy who is in love (or thinks) with a girl. Also both of the books the girls are trying to find who they are, if they want to stay, or go. I would contrast the two books because "if I stay" is written in past-tense type because it mainly writes what happened in the past but paper towns talks about what is happening right now. I would also contrast the two books because in paper towns the girl is just lost but in if I stay she is in a death situation wondering if she wants to stay alive.

Kcox6 said...

@ale2 I wouldn't want to live their

The book i'm reading right now is Divergent by Veronica Roth and I am on page 468.The last book I read was Inhertiance by Christopher Paolini. Two comparisons are that both are fiction and both the characters change throughout the book. In Divergent Tris changes from being selfless to brave and with controll of her fears. In Inhertiance Eragon changes from being brave to selfless.

Mcline1 said...

@Kcox6 Very insightful thank you.

The book I am currently reading is called The Orphan Train by Joan Lowery Nixon and I am on page 57. The last book I read was called The Lord of the Flies by William Golding. The Orphan Train is about a drummer in the civil war. The Lord of the Flies was about four teenagers stranded on an island and start a war with the natives that lived there. The similarities between the two books are that they are both about going to war, and the main characters are teenagers. The differences between the two books is the wars are on different pieces of land and in a different time period.

jlross1 said...

@Mcline1 sounds nice

jlross1 said...

The book I am currently reading is The Darkest Minds by Alexandria Bracken. The last book I was currently reading was a series called Maximum Ride by James Patterson. How they are alike is the characters are all teens and they are both running from something. They all had something they couldn’t control. Max and her flock had wings and Ruby wakes up with strange abilities. How they are different is a disease struck ruby and the world and Max and her flock got messed up by scientists. Also the book The Darkest6 Minds is kind of dystopian and the Maximum Ride books were mostly science fiction. That is how my two books are alike and different.

apatterson1 said...

The book I am now reading is The Fault in our Stars by John Green and I’m on page 102. There’s a lot of differences and similarities with the Scorch trials by James Dashner and this book but there are also some similarities. Some differences are that the scorch trials is all action and adventure with life threating situations and the fault in our stars is more of a sappy love story between two cancer patients. Some similarities are the scorch trials have a small love story going on with Thomas and Teresa which is sort of similar to the whole book because it’s a love story.

kbooker2 said...

The book I am currently reading is Jack’s Black Book and the book I am comparing and contrasting is Pearl Wars. They are similar because both of the main characters are scrawny and get picked on in their life and another comparison is that they both experienced a person that they cared for die. The contrasts are that Pearl Wars takes place in the future and Jack’s Black Book takes place in the present and another contrast is that in Pearl Wars the Earth is destroyed and in Jack’s Black Book the Earth is fine.

the book I am reading is Big Game by Dan Smith and the last book I read was Allegiant by Veronica Roth.One comparison is that they both have a time in there life where they have to do something.In Big Game whenever a boy turns thirteen they have to go into the woods for one night alone and kill a buck or whatever the woods gives them.In Allegiant you have to choose what faction you want to be in like dauntless.One contrast is that one is about boys turning thirteen and going hunting and one is about factions.In Big Game when a boy turns thirteen they have a trial and it's only for boys.In Allegiant it's for boys and girls to choose what they want to be.

The book I'm currently reading is Once Upon a time by James Riley and im comparing and contrasting this book to Dork Diaries by Renee Russell. And the comparison of these two books is that they are both Fairytales and that they both have a hard life in the beginning but at the end they both start to get better . and the contrast of these books are that the Dork diaries book is like set in a different time and place than from the Once upon a time, in the once upon a time its about this boy who is like trying to face life but thinks it's hard to accomplish.

The book im reading is called 'Matched' by Ally Condie. I am currently on page 71. The last book i read was called 'Let Ana Go'. These stories are simular because their both stories about a teenage girls and their peresepective of things. They also both have a conflict with themselves and their choices that they make. In 'Let Ana Go' Ana was trying to decide what she wants to look like and her style, while in 'Matched' Cassia is having conflict with herself because she does not know what path she wants to take. These stories are different because 'Let Ana Go' is more realist and could happen in real life, while in 'Matched is more of fiction and could not happen in real life. Another difference between the two is that they have to different personalities Ana is more of a pessimist, and some times negative and doesnt really trust people, while Cassia is more of a optimist and postive about certain things, and is really trusting to people.

I am currently reading Tim Tebow by Nathan Whitaker and I’m on page 35.This book is a lot different from Alfred Kropp because this book is about a football player with a dream to go to the NFl but he was humble And religious so a lot of people liked him. But with Alfred Kropp he is very shy no one really likes him because he’s kind of a nerd but he’s not that smart. Also he plays football but he’s not very good at it and he broke the starting quarterbacks wrists and now he might not be recruited. But they are similar because they both played football and weren’t the best when they first started and I bet if Alfred would have kept playing he would have been really good.

books Rick Riordan, Magnus Chase, The Sword of Summer pg. 101
James Dashner, The Death Cure

The Death Cure is set in a post-apocalyptic world, while The Sword of Summer is set in modern day with mythological places mixed in. Another Difference is that The Death Cure is futuristic Sci-Fi which is very different from the modern world and all the myths, legends, and magic. Despite the differences between the two books the main characters from both are going through similar things, first they are both dropped into a situation abruptly with no explanation, both have to cope with the loss of friends, and are both being lied to and betrayed.

The book that I am currently reading is called “ESCAPE” by Allan Zullo and I am on page 56. The last book I have read, was called “Cat’s Liar” by Christine Feehan. Those two books can compare because both of the main characters, Catarina (Cat’s Liar) and Alicia (ESCAPE), are trying to get away from their enemies. Catarina and Alicia are alike because they both are away from there families and are alone. Both characters are different because Catarina’s enemy doesn’t want to kill her, he just wants to make her suffer and get revenge, while Alicia’s killer wants to kill her and her family. Those are the comparisons and differences between the book that I’ve already read and the book that I am currently reading.

My book is The Lost Crown, the author of my book is Sarah Miller. I’m on page 5, I haven’t gotten too far into the book because I had to get a new book. The book I was reading before was Twilight. Two things in this book that are similar is the romance, and also the drama. But the two different things are my new book is about royalty and my old book is about fantasies. I love both of these books and recommend them to girls, I don’t think guys will like these books.

I’m currently reading “This Journal belongs to Ratchet” it is by Nancy J. Cavanaugh and I’m currently on page 25. I’m going to compare and contrast this book with Dork Dairies. One way they compare is they are both in diary format. Another way is that both the main characters are girls. They contrast in one way because one of the main characters get to go to school and the other one doesn’t. Another way they contrast is because one of them has a whole family, the other one only has a dad.

I'm reading Warrior Cats: Bluestar's prophecy by Erin Hunter and i'm currently on page 122. The last book I read was Maximum ride and both relate with the fact that they are sorta battling the human population and a dog related animal. In Maximum ride they're running from what they call Erasers and in Warrior cat's their worst fear has to be the dogs roaming. One thing that they don't have in common is that in Maximum ride there is a human hybrid company going on behind their back but in Warrior cats they're just simply surviving like any feral cat.

I am reading “Paper Towns” by John Green and I am on page 54. In Paper Towns it’s not as adventurous as Hunger Games, so there’s not as much sacrifice or hard decisions to deal with as Katniss had to do in Hunger Games. Paper Towns doesn’t have news cameras, reporters, nor press around the couple all the time or at all. Both books do have romance in them though, and they have tough challenges to go through to help out each other. Also the main characters have a challenge that they have to work to save their partners. Paper Towns and Hunger Games are similar yet different in problems and adventure.

Also they both are going through something with there family. The two differences is that the main character of "The Bully" is a boy and the main character is a girl. Two similarities my old book and this new one have is that the characters are very curios, they like to know whats going on. Another one is that they both like to go on adventures. Two differences they have are in Hoot Roy gets bullied everyday and in Just One Day her life is almost perfect. A second difference they have is Roy tries to save owls but Allyson is going to college.

The book im comparing and contrasting with Hoot is called Just One Day.

Two things that are alike in this book are, both settings are near Miami.Another comparison is they both have characters around the same age. Another contrast is cloaked is a fantasy instead of being a realistic fiction like flush.

The book I am reading is A Day No Pigs Would Die by Robert Peck. The book I am contrasting it to is Counting by 7's by Holly Goldberg Sloan. The two main characters are Rob from ADNPWD and Willow from Counting by 7's. Willow and Rob are about the same age, 12 years old. Both of them must deal with the loss of a loved one, and they are both fictional characters. However, Rob and Willow live in different time periods and Willow loses both her parents at the beginning of the book, while Rob has to deal with loss towards the end of the book.

I am currently reading the book called Better off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg and am on page 142. Lois Duncan called the last book I read Down a Dark Hall. These two great books are similar in three ways. One being the fact that both of them revolve around the school environment, two bring that both of the maim characters in each book had a parent die, and third being that both of the main characters are their parents only child. Even though these books are similar in many ways, they also have many differences. For example, my current book is in a public school environment but my old books setting was in a boarding school. Another example would be how my present-day book does not have anything to do with supernatural things but my last book was all about supernatural elements. The last example would be that in the book I am reading now the husband with the deceased wife does not remarry, but in my previous book, the wife does remarry after her husband dies.

I am currently reading Time After Time by Tamara I. Stone and I am on page 266. It is the second book in the series. The book I’m going to compare it to is the Across The Universe trilogy. In both books two people fall in love who should have never met in the first place. In Across the Universe Amy, a cryogenically frozen teen born 500 years prior, falls in love with Elder the boy who runs the ship who is 17 years old. In Time After Time Anna falls in love with Bennett in 1995. Bennett is a time traveler who was born in 2012 and can go anywhere in time and space with just a thought. Also both of these books have a genre of science fiction. However in Across the Universe they travel in space and they find genetically modified “humans” but there are no unusual characters besides Bennett who can travel in time. In Across the Universe the whole book is based on the ship landing on the new inhabitable planet with a small love story in it but in Time After Time the whole story is based on the fact that in order for Bennett and Anna to be together Bennett must find a way to either stay in or keep coming back to 1995 to see Anna.
