For this weeks blog I want you to describe the overall Tone of the book you are currently reading. What motive do you think the author had in mind when he/she wrote your book? Was he/she wanting it to have a creepy tone, a happy tone, sad tone, and so on.

I am currently reading"The old willis place'.The author is Mary downing hanh.I am on page 30.My author wanted to have a creepy tone.i think she when she was writing this book she had in mind that,it would scare people not to trust new people,and go in scary houses.
The book I am currently reading is called Tkaen. It is by Edward Bloor, and I am on page 49. The overall tone of the book iis very creepy. The reason I say this is because the book is about a girl getting kidnapped. The book can also be a sad tone because its about how her mother isnt their and she doesnt have many freinds.
The book I am reading is Do Not Pass Go. The tone I think the author trying to give is mystery and happiness. The reason why is because the character dad goes to jail and they are trying to figure out when he is getting out. Also because when the character dad do get out they're gonna be happy. I am on page 84.

I am currently reading A Tale Dark & Grimm by: Adam Gidwitz and i am on page 46. I think that when adam was writing this book he had in mind to keep the reader on the edge of his/her seat and wanting to read more. They wanted to put a scary and creepy tone.

I'm currently reading Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler. I'm on page 219.I think the tone of my book is dramatic. It's dramatic because the way its written everything is so dramatic. An example is " As I threw the 100 pound book across the sea of students everyone screamed my name, Hudson."

The Book i am reading at the moment is The lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. i am currently on page 42. The overall tone of the book is mysterious. The reason i say this is because the main character just found out that he is special and his bestfriend is a goat.

My Book is Zoobreak by Gordon Korman. I am on page 9. The tone so far is very nervous. Savvanah has just lost her pet monkey. So her freinds help her and go searching where she thinks the monkey would be. The three spots she thinks it is they check out and its not found. so now she must post signs all over town to find her monkey again.

My book is "The Mark of Athena" by Rick Riordan. I am currently on page 172. The overall tone for my book I think is thrilling. I think the author's motive was to thrill us and make us anxious and wanting to read more because the tone kept us coming back. For support, an example would be when Annabeth went on to follow the Mark of Athena on her own because she's Athena's daughter. It was thrilling because Annabeth was without anyone and she wasn't born with powers like the others so when she got hurt, it was interesting to read what she had to do which was very clever.

I am currently reading Re-Vamped by Sienna Mercer and I’m on page 181. The tone of the book is happy. The author made me think the tone is happy because two separated sisters are reunited in science class. They both are vampires but only Ivy knows she is a vampire. Another tone is nervous because the author is trying to make me feel nervous when Olivia must convince the vampire officials to get her vampire powers.

I'm currently reading is The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I am on page 46 of my book.In my opinion the tone of the book so far is confused, because know one knows who or where they are. Also the way the book starts off is confusing but its not so confusing you cant understand it.All around its an interesting book.
I am currently reading the book The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod Eight Grade Bites. I am now on page 73. The tone of this book overall is calm. The author made me think that the tone was depressing because she makes it seem like Vlad's life is really bad. He is a 13 year old vampire that is being hunted down but so far his life is going preety normal and he hasn't gone through any challenges yet.

I am currently reading Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. I am on page 30. I beiieve the tone of this book is calm because alll the characters so fa are trying to get used to their new life.Even after Ella's mom died she acts clam and obedient. I think the author when she was writing the book that it would be calm and simple for people to read.

My book is Hunger Games. The author is Suzanne Collins. I finished the book. The tone of my book is exciting. One example is when the announcer says there can only be one winner at the end of the book.

My book is The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan and I am on page 123. I think the tone of this book judging by how far am, I would say the tone is very serious. I think this because in one part Percy asks his friend Hazel a simple question and she starts to have a really dramatic flashback, which takes three pages to explain. There is also a time where the book talks about a very drastic time just to talk about how his shrit got torn. These are the reasons I think the tone of this book is serious.
The book I am currently reading is the sea of monsters. It is by Rick Riordan and I am on page eighty five(85). The tone the author gives is humor and suspense. That is because the main character is playing dodge ball in his P.E. class and the opponents have turned into man eating cannibals. That is funny and suspenseful because the main character can get killed by the cannibals.

I am on page 199 of The Journey in the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series by Kathryn Lasky. I think the tones are releif and hope.I think relief is a tone because the band of orphan owls; Soren,Gylfie,Twilight,and Digger; find the Great Ga'Hoole tree in the middle of the Sea of Hoolemere where supposedly owls much like the knights of the round table live and rest before they go out and fight to help others. Hope is another tone in this book because the main character ,Soren, hopes to help find his little sister,Eglantine and his parents because truly he was snatched from the ground after his big brother, Kludd, pushed him out of the nest. Also the band of owls hope to bring down the terrible egg snatching and fledgling stealing syndicate caled St. Aggies which has a 'school' wherew no questions are allowed.

The book i am currently reading is 'Clone Codes'. It is by 'John Mckissack'. John is wanting he's reader's to know that you always have listen to your parents. Also always all situations seriously because all of them of drills. An example from the book.

I am currently reading 1984, by George Orwell. I am currently on page 93. So far there are a few tones shown by the author. One tone is confusion. Was the past really as the Party had portrayed it? Another tone is fear. He fears there will be no end to the Party or Big Brother's reign. He also sometimes uses a hopeful tone. Although he says the only hope lies in the proles, or the people who live in the slums of London, he also says they may be able to unify in large numbers and take down Big Brother if they focus, not on specific grievances of Big Brother and the Party, but on general ideas. Another tone he uses is a conflicted tone. He's not sure whether or not he likes Big Brother. He usually thinks he does, but sometimes feels as though Big Brother shouldn't exist. That the Party is completely altering the truth to the point that there is no real history, but only lies. I think he had all these conflicting tones in mind when he wrote this book.

I am currently reading the book Hatchet By: Gary Paulsen. I am on page 96 and its a great book. The author has a grim tone. He is nervous because he has nothing but the cloths on his back, he has found food and water. He has just discovered fire and is waiting for someone to find him in the middle of the forest somewhere in Canada.

I just finished the book Mocking Jay by Suzanne Collins. Suzanne wanted an exciting tone and hit it right on the head. She says my heart beating faster and faster I didn’t know what to do I was shocked with awe. She made the book amazing I was speechless when I finished the book I was like wow! She was a great writer and made it and unbelievable book by her tone.

I am currently reading Dark Life. The author is Kat Falls. I am no page 25. I think that the author wanted to have a creepy tone, because he people in the book don't sem exactly normal, but she wanted to keep it at a tone where it won't get the reader to be scared. The author probably tried to keep it at a humorous tone.

I am on page 145 of the book Found by: Margaret Peterson. The tone I think the author has is creepy. This tone would fits best because Jonah is getting creepy letters in the mail from an unknown sender. Also when he finds out that on his adoption paper there was a random name and it’s an FBI agent. So far it’s a really good book.

I am currently reading Dark Life by Kat Falls. Im on page 103. I think that my author wanted to have a chilling but yet different sense of tone. I think this because of the things the main character says "the hatch dialed open and a steam of water shot into the air lock, glistening like a blood spurt in the pulsing red light." also he talks about how dark some parts of the ocean is.

I am reading Flipped by Wendlin Van Draanen. I am on page 131. I think the tone of the book is romantic because the two main characters in the book are crazy for each other. They're too shy to talk to one another. They cant stop thinking about each other.

I am Currently reading the always war. I think my author wanted people to have either a action tone or a scary tone. In the book they land in enemy territory and they haveto find a way out. The whole time trying to avoid being killed.

I am currently reading The lost hero By Rick Riordan I am on page 300. I think the overall tone of the book is a mysterious tone. I say this because he writes the book in the way that everything the kids go through is mysterious and caution feeling.

Currently i am on page 50. i think that the tone of my book is adventures and happy tone, but in the begaining it could have been a sad tone. bacuse Alice couldnt stop crying. but over all it is a happy tone because every little detail is so crazy and so different it makes you want to laugh.

The book I am currently reading is Malice. Chris wooding is the name of the author. I am on page 94. The tone of my book is scary because the author is trying to describe a horrifying world that exists in a comic book. If you gather the right things and say the right words, you'll be taken to Malice. It's a world that few kids know about and fewer survive.

The book I am currently reading is called Dark Life by Kat Falls and I am on page 163. The tone I think the author had in mind was creepy and suspense. The characters are creepy since they aren't normal, like some characters have skin that shimmers. The book is also suspense full because in some parts of the book a bad guy named Shade is either spotted or attacks a home or boat. This creates suspense because you want to know if Shade ever gets caught or if the people in the boats or homes are ok.

I am currently Alfred Kropp the seal of Solomon by Rick Yancy. I am on page 327. And so fare I believe the tone is kind of creepy but also happy because it starts of happy then things go bad. Every one gets sad then they fix it and every one is happy. And then its over and they leave it being happy.

I am reading Battle of The Labyrinth by Lois Lowry. I'm on page 37. I think the overall tone is lively because of all the adventure going on. Every main character is the child of a greek god, and are chased by demons and stuff. And the motive the author had to write the book was to entertain.

I am currently reading the book Daniel X by James Paterson and I am on page 206. I think that the Motive that Paterson had when writing Daniel X was to show how a teen handles his super powers and inner emotions. I think that the tone he was trying to promote was a serious and optimistic-tone. Serious because in most points of the story up to now have all been Daniel trying to figure out how to do things, without playing around. Optimistic too because every time he has an idea or any body provides an idea, he always listens and considers the thought.

As most of the time they are adventuring for the good of their castle, the author would more likely have a happy tone. The book I'm reading is the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and I am on page 200. I think the tone is strict. I think when the author was writing this she wanted people to think about how different our culture would be if it were like the one in the book. In the society its about following strict rules. You also fight to the death if you're selected and you can't hind or back out from it.
the book I'm currently reading is called Wild Things by Clay Carmichael I'm on page 189. I think the tone of this book is stressful. I think when the author was writing this book he wanted people to think about how it would feel to live with an uncle you have never met until your mother died. In the book the main character is under a lot of stress. plus her mom died and she has a lot of thinking to do on a case involving the mayor son.
The book I am currently reading is The Test the author of this book is Peggy Kern. This book is really starting to get good he page I am on is 97. This book is a good book I think the author wrote this book to entertain readers to let them know how it was growing up at an early age pregnant. The main character of the book is Liselle she had a hard time growing up she grew up to fast I think this book is like a stressful tone because Liselle went through a lot wen she was growing up. Her life seemed stressful when she was 16 and pregnant she didn’t know how to handle and know what to do she didn’t know how to tell her parents or anybody.

Wells i am on page 10. so far the tone of my book is mysterious. they start out wiht names of charecters you dont even know until they travel back into time. Then when the main charecter gets randomly shot it imediatly goes back into present day and starts talking about how he loves being an inventor...

I think the over all tone of my book, that it is supposed to be exciting. The title of my book is how to break a dragon’s heart (how to train your dragon). The author of my book is Cressida Cowell, is on pg 42. I think that is the right tone for my book because it is about dragons, who wouldn’t be excited about dragons. Well I feel excited when I read about dragons, So I think that’s what she was thinking too.

Over all, I think the tone of my book is suspenseful. You literally cannot put the book down. The title is The Hunger Games. The author is Suzanne Collins. I'm on page 264. I think the book's tone is suspenseful because, every word is descriptive and breath taking.

The book i am reading is Chasing tiger by Glenn Stout. I am currently on page 6.I think the tone of my book is serious. I think it is because if he isnt serious then Tiger Woods could probably sue him. I also think it is serious because its about a real person's life and how he got into the sport he plays.

I’m reading Gone by Michael Grant. I’m currently on page 113. The overall tone of my book is confusion because most of the kids don’t know what is going on. Some kids do know and want to tell the others but cant. So that’s why overall the tone is confusion

I am currently reading the million dollar throw by mike lupica .i think the tone of the book is stressful because brody is having hard time in his life right now.I'm on page 167.Another tone i would give the book is disappointing because his arm is not as great as it used to be.

The book that I am reading is called “The Old Man and the Sea” by Ernest Hemingway and I am on page 41. I think that the author was trying to have a sad tone because most of the story talks about how the old man lives in a broke down house, sleeping on the floor with nothing but a newspaper on him and on top of that, the old man can’t even fend for his self.
