Blog #6 Due: Monday 10/11/10

Last week we focused on Author's Perspective (opinion & values). Please discuss one perspective your author has about a topic/idea based on the details from your book.

For example, The author of A Day No Pigs Would Die obviously cares about animals. We know this because in chapter 4 and 5, Robert is shown caring for and bonding with Pinky.
What can you tell about the author based on you book? Make sure you include specific examples, the title and author of your book and what page you are currently on.

The book I am reading is Lucky by Rachel Vail. I am on page 58. One perspective from the author is worrying about her and her friends end of the year school party. She is worried because one of her friends hasn't payed any of her money. Phoebe just doesn't know what to say to her.

I am reading Perfect by Natasha Friend. I am currently on page 35. One perspective the author takes in this book is about her issues with her body. She is worried about her weight because her dad just died and her mom cries, and her sister just won’t leave her alone. So Isabelle eats so much food her belly is about to burst, then she goes to the bathroom and pukes it all back up. She does this to deal with the stress of her father; this is her way of cooping with it.

I know that the author loves animals in my book. he loves animals because in the book he talks about saving an animal. in the book he mentions different types of animals and how smart they are. he also tells how animals should be treated fairly. he's opinion is that people who steel animals should go to jail! he hated it when Mr.Natase stole a poor defencless little girls monkey.

I am currently reading I Know Its Over by:C.K Kelly Martin. I am on page 135. One perspective in my book is that the main character, Nick, doesn't like kids. He hates his little sister Holland and he gets hid girlfriend pregnant and then dumps her. Once they knew she was pregnant he wanted to get an abortion or have the "Morning After Pill." It was obvious at this point in the book that he didn't want to have a kid and he never plans to.

The previous book i was reading, in which was The Last Song i could tell the author cares about family and cherishing the times with them. I know this because he takes this All American girl and takes her through her parents divorcing and blaming her dad for their divorce. Then while she spends the summer with him she treats him like dirt and disrespects him a lot. When her dad dies she realizes that she could played the piano with him and did more things to remember of him. Now that it's too late she regrets it very much.

I think the author feels really bad about all the bad things that happend to Helmuth and all the things he had to go through. I also think that she might be even be a little proud of Helmuth, Helmuth did not believe in every thing Hitler believed in so he fought back. He went to prison for it but he fought for what he believed in.

The book I am currently reading is Series of Unfortunate Events - The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket. I am on page 117. One perspective of the author would be that having somebody you love die is a very tragic event. This is shown when the Baudelaire children become orphans when their parents die in a fire and when their uncle is killed by Count Olaf. They continue having misery in their lives and when ever something good is happening, somebody they love dies.

The book I'm currently reading is called Billy creekmore and it is one of the sunshine state reader books. I think that the authors purpose is to inform the reader about child labor, while entertaining the reader. One event that happens in the book is, when billy is out at night when he isn't supposed to. He sees a boy in the woods and when they talk Billy finds out about how terrible the glass factory is. The boy even shows Billy his hand that had been burned by the glass and barely had any fingers left and the rest of of his hand looked terrible.

Another example would be when tiger went pro and was going to play at this place in aulstralis i believe and when he got there the owner told him that they also did not allow black people but since the PGA was paying for all of this the owner had no choice but to let Tiger play on his course.

My book is Escaping the Giant Wave. The author of my book, his name is Peg Kehret. Also I am currently on page 31.

My book is called "This lullaby." It's by Sarah Dessen and I'm on page 47. One perspective the author obviously has is that she says relationships have there up and downs. Maybe she has had so many relationships that she has added them into a book. All of Sarah Dessen's book are about teenage loves. Where the perspective has most support is in chapter three.

The book I was reading was "Until We Meet Again," By Anne Scraff. I think the author's perspective of writing that book was to show that a girl has deep feelings for her boyfriend that moves away. i think this because in a part of the book the girl would get furius about him moving away. She would cry, stop doing the normaal things she did often, and she would even leave her friends.! Im currenlty done with the book.

The title of my book is November Blues. The author is Sharon M. Draper.I am on page 366, but this was in chapter 22. I feel like the author's perspective is that she believes in standing up fo yourself. I think this because when November and her mother went to meet with Mr. and Mrs. Prescott, they tried to win her over and take charge of the baby. November finally took the stand and let them know that she chooses whether the baby stays with her, or goes with them.

Hfundenburg4,
I used to do that a lot.
