Currently, I am reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and I am on page 43. The book I am going to use to compare and contrast is Football Genius by Tim Green. One comparison I found was that Dylan and Brian are both thirteen years old. Another comparison I found was that both of these young teenage boys do not have fathers. Dylan’s left him and his mom and Brian’s died a couple of years back. One difference I found was the setting in Hatchet is in the Canadian Wilderness. In Football Genius, the setting is in Atlanta Georgia. And finally the last difference I found was Brian and his mom do not really care for each other and they are often avoiding each other. While in Football Genius. Dylan and his mom have a very strong connection and they tell each other everything.

I am currently reading Kingdom Keepers IV Power Play by Ridley Pearson, I am on page 120. The last book I read was Kingdom Keepers I by Ridley Pearson. Two comparisons about both of the books are that they both have the same author. They both take place in Disney World. Overtakers try to take over the park in both books. The characters are the same in both books. I could go on with comparisons but now for the contrasts. Kingdom Keepers IV takes place in MGM while Kingdom Keepers I takes place in Magic Kingdom. In the first book the Overtakers aren’t as strong while in the Kingdom Keepers I they have learned what they can do to actually successfully take over the park. They are substantially stronger in the book I am reading currently. That's my comparing and contrasting between both books.

I have not started another book since I read Sound Bender by Lin Oliver & Theo Baker. There were 262 pages in the book. The last book I read was The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. This book had 457 pages in it. The two books had very few similarities, due to them being in totally different genres. One thing they had in common was that the main characters both had something very tragic happen to them. In The 5th Wave, Cassie and Sam’s parents were murdered and there world was abducted by aliens. In Sound Bender, Leo and Hollis’ parents died in a plane crash. Another similarity they had was that both the books had sibling’s relying on each other to save them/help them. The books are extremely different. The main difference is that The 5th Wave is a science fiction book where kids are being thrown into war and forced to kill everyone who wasn’t cleansed, while Sound Bender is a fantasy book where this boy can hear memories and finds out the history of a machine. He then travels to an island to save dolphins from the mechanism and destroys it. The last difference is that, the point of view in The 5th Wave switches between characters, when in Sound Bender, the point of view remains constant.

I am reading The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan, I am on page 155. I am comparing this book from the book that was before this book which is The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan. The differences between these books are that in Mark of Athena, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, and Percy have to go and defeat the goddess of death Gaea, and save the Roman Camp from her reign of terror. Another difference is that in Son of Neptune, Percy was lost and they had to go to Tarterous to rescue Percy from Hadeus. Some similarities between these two books are the characters that they use, both of these books used Annabeth, Piper, Jason, and Percy. Another similarity is that in both books they are dealing with big-time, extremely powerful gods and goddess’, such as Gaea, Hadeus, Neptune, Athena, and many more.

Some thing i found different from Daniel X books and Percy Jackson books are, in Daniel X, Daniel is fighting aliens. In Jercy Jackson, Percy is figting Greek monsters. Also Daniel is alone Percy is with his freinds. Percy fights in New York but Daniel fights all Around the us. Some things these books had in comon are they are both fighting non humans. they are also both teenagers. They both have special powers and they both are courageous. I am reading The Dangerous Days of Daniel x i am on page 80 and it was made by James Patterson.

The book I am currently reading is “Scarlet” by Marissa Meyer. I am on page 243. The last book I read was “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” by Betty Smith. Comparisons between these two books are that the main characters in both these books are girls. Contrasts between these two books are that “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” is based in the past and “Scarlet” is set in the future.

The book I am currently reading is A Tales Of A Not So Popular Pop star by; Rachel Renee, and I am on page 69. The book I am comparing and contrasting is Dealing with Dragons by; Patricia Wrede. The comparison of these two books is that the Main characters of the books don't really fit in THEIR social group. In Dealing With Dragons Cermone the main character can only live a princess life and in Tales of a Not so Popular pop star Rachel is teased or bullied by a girl named Mackenzie. A difference of these two books is that one is Fantasy and the other is Realistic Fiction.

The last two books I read were Cracker and The Eleventh Plague. Cracker is about a dog in Vietnam during the Vietnam war. The dog is a girl and her name is Cracker. Cracker is a German Shepard who lived with her owner until she was three. She was taken into the war when the boy that owned her moved into an apartment that did not allow pets. The Eleventh Plague is twenty years into the future but it is an apocalyptic world after nuclear war had stuck out and china sent a new sickness over into the US killing off more then half the population there. Some comparisons I found were that the main characters both had to learn to live in a new place with new people. I don't have any other comparisons though. I will give an extra contrast instead. One thing is that both books are in totally different time periods. Plus one book the world is falling apart because of world war three and the other there is only a war between two country's. In Cracker there are lots of dogs and in The Eleventh Plague there are non-seen.

Also their is Lucy and Edmund, as they are both childish. Two contrasts are the Lion "Azlan" and the white witch. The wite witch is verry minipulative, and a lier, while Azlan always tells the truth and is not miniplulative. Another one is also Lucy and Peter. Peter is a boy, and is the oldest, and lucy is a girl, and she is the youngest.

The book I’m currently reading is” The Boys Handbook” and the book author is Mark Stone and I’m on pg. 37. So the book I’m going to be comparing the book to is the book holes. The book holes and the boy’s handbook can be similar and different. Because the both had went to court because they had done something bad. But the crimes were different and the ended up in different places. And they both was poor but they character in the boys handbook was more bad because he was beating people up. But the character in holes was just framed and he only stole so he can provide for his family.

The book i ma currently is reading is Daniel X by James Patterson an i am currently on page 26. I want to compare this book to the outsiders because Ponyboy and Daniel both went through tough lives. THey both lost their parents and both have to fight to either survive or earn respect. WHat contrasts them is that Ponyboy is kind of a shy person while Daniel is Outgoing. Also Ponyboy has People he can call his family while Daniel has to fend for himself

The book I am currently reading is called "Philippa Fisher's Fairy godsister" by Liz Kessler. I'm on page 28. One comparison I found out is that both Annabelle and Philippa are the same age,13. Another comparison is that they both are either moving away from their friends or their friend is moving away from them. One difference is that Annabelle is going into the sixth grade and Philippa is almost into the eighth grade. Another difference is that Philippa made a present for her friend because she was moving away and then Annabelle's friends through her a sleepover party because she was moving away.

The book I am currently reading is The Stone Child by Dan Poblocki. I am on page 92. The book I am going to compare and contrast to is Evermore by Alsyon Noel. One thing that makes them alike is they are both mysteries. The characters in the books have to figure out how to solve their own little mystery. One thing that they differ from is Evermore is more of a sy-fy story, and The Stone Child is more of a scary story/mystery story.

A book i am currently reading now is Circus Galacticus by Deva Fagan. Right now i am on Page 249. A book i read last week was brand-new Emily by Ginger Rue. A difference in the books is that one book is fantasy that contains aliens. The other book is realistic fiction. Another difference, is that the main character in circus galacticus is an orphan, and the main character in Brand-new Emily has only one parent. Similarities in both books is that they both lost at least one parent. Another similarity is that they both get bullied in the beginning of the book.

In my book, The School for Good and Evil (by Soman Chainani), and my last book, Smells Like Pirates (by Suzanne Selfors), a few similarities are:
SIMILARITIES:
In TSFGAE, the co-main character Sophie’s roommate Anadil has pet rats, and in SLP Lorelei had a pet rat.
There is an important riddle to be solved in both stories.
DIFFERENCES:
TSFGAE is a Fantasy book, while SLP was Realistic Fiction.
Sophie only has her dad, Agatha (the other co-main character) only has her mom, Homer has both of his parents, and Lorelei doesn’t have any parents.

I just finished my book called One for the Murphys by Lynda Mullaly Hunt with a total of 224 pages, and the book I read before that was called Its Not Like I Planned It This Way by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. The books were very similar. Like the main characters were both girls, and they were experiencing changes in there lives. Some differences between the books were that in the book One for the Murphys Carly was put into foster care while her mother was healing, and in Its Not Like I Planned It This Way Alice the main character live in here house and her father got remarried. In One for the Murphys Carly gets abused by her stepfather, and in Its Not Like I Planned It This Way Alice's Father and stepmother love here very much.

I am currently reading “The Lord of the Rings the Fellowship of the Ring,” by J.R.R. Tolkien. I am currently on page 137. The book I will be contrasting with is “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien. One similarity is that both books were written by the same author. Another similarity is that they both revolve around the main character being a hobbit. One difference is that one talks about getting the ring while the other one talks about destroying it. Another difference is that The “Fellowship of the Ring” has a much bigger antagonist than the one in “The Hobbit.”

The two books were written by the same author and they both have conflicts that don’t happen to many teenager girls. Also the two main actors are around the same age. But, If I Tell is about relationships that weren’t supposed to happen and I’m not her is about medical problems. Also, in the book I am reading now the main character is a musician and the main character in the last book is smart and isn’t a musician.

I am currently reading a series called “Pendragon” by D.J. Machale. Book one is “The Merchant of Death.” In the book, Bobby Pendragon is, or was, an ordinary High school student at Stony Brook Junior High. That is, until his Uncle Press took him to another world called “Denduron.” I’m, as of right now, on page 124. To get to Denduron, Bobby had to travel through a flume. The flume is carved from gray craggy rock. In the book “In a Heartbeat,” Eagan is trapped in a place between life and death. She describes it at first as “nowhere land, a gray misty place. The gray is thick like fog, but it’s dry and has no texture or substance.” Even though one is rock and one is just grayness, both characters are in a gray place that they don’t want to be in. Also, Bobby and Amelia (another character from “In a Heartbeat”) are in life and death situations. Except, Bobby is fighting the treacherous and villainous Saint Dane, and Amelia is fighting for her life before getting a heart transplant.

The book I am reading is Uglies by Scott Westerfeld and I am on page 88. The last book I read was Matthias. I recall that the last book was about talking animals and their lives in medieval times. The only thing I can compare is how they lived. Uglies is set in the future with hover boards and crash bracelets, bracelets the catch you from falling. Matthias is set in the past where they had to grow food and do chores unlike how in Ugly Town the robots make food and clean. The comparisons between the books are that in Matthias they live in one big “house” and in Uglies the different stages of uglies live in the same apartment as well as the pretties. Another comparison is that Matthias and Tally, both main characters, go out on an adventure. The adventures are for different reasons, one is to slay Cluny the scourge to protect his home, and the other is to sort of rebel with her friend against the ugly and pretty ways.

JHerrera4 The books sound good, nice description.

I am currently reading 'The Hobbit' by J.R.R.Tolkien, and I am on page 44. I am going to conpare and comtrast this book with another book 'The Goddess Test'. The two comparisons of the books are they have same Genre of the book which is 'fantasy' and something happen to the main characters. But the events that happened to the main characters are different. To the Katherine Winters who is the main character of The Goddess Test, met the god of underworld and had the Test, and to the Bilbo Baggins, he get into adventures with wizard named Gandalf and dwarfs, this is one of the contrasts. The other thing is the main character. The main character in the goddess test is a girl, but the main character in the hobbit is a man.

@cnechodom4- nice blog! I like your comparisons and contrasts.

I am currently reading It's not summer without you by Jenny Han. I am on page 62. The last book that I read was One for the Murphys. Some similarities are that Belly's friends mom dies and in my other book Carley's mom sent her away to a foster family. Another one is that they both had to get used to not having that person in their lives. Some differences are that Belly is used to always going to the beach every summer but this summer she isn't,but Carley always stayed in California and never went anywhere. Another difference is that Belly is trying to find a way to do something over the summer while Carley was getting used to her new family.

One large difference is that The Stand took place in the 1980s and the Green Mile took place in the 1920s. Another is that The Green mile is about miracles that John Coffey performs. The Stand Is about a super virus that kills everybody. A similarity is that The Stand is about a battle between good and evil. The Green Mile is also a battle between good and evil. Another similarity is both books throw you curve balls. In the green mile John Coffey dies very unexpectedly. In the Stand, Michael, one of the leaders dies of liver cancer.

I am currently reading " The Summer I Turned Pretty" and im on page 104. In this book, the main character wants a boyfriend and is crushing. In the last book i read, called "Secrets, lies, and aledgebra", she also really likes a guy. A comparison is that they are in different grades and they like different things. In the book im currently reading, she doesnt really like school. In the last book, the main character loves math. Another thing in common is that they both have family struggles throughout their lives. The next comparison is in my current book. She loves the beach and goes every summer. In the last book i read, she didnt really go anywhere and always focused on school.

I am currently reading "Unwind" by: Neal Shusterman. I'm on page 112. My last book was called "The Garden of Eve" by: K. L. Going. One comparison I found was that the main characters both have a quiet personality. They both seem closed and don't share too much of themselves. The contrasting between them is that the main character in my current book took more of a bad boy role. However, the main character in my last book was closed off and quiet because her mother had passed away and she was pretty sad about it.

The book I am currently reading is Starters by Lissa Price and I am on page 104. The last book I read was Pretties by Scott Westerfeld. One comparison of the books is that they both takes place in the future with very advanced technology. A second comparison is that the main characters are both 16 year old girls. There are several other similarities between these books but there are also a lot differences. For one in my current book, if you’re poor, you can go to a place called Prime destination where a mysterious figure called the Old Man will hire teens to rent their bodies to elders, who want to be young again. In Pretties, when you turn 16, you undergo an extreme, cosmetic surgery redesigning your entire body to make you pretty, even when you’re old. Another difference is that Callie is super poor and is squatting in abandoned houses and Tally is super rich and wants for nothing because she’s pretty. Those are my comparison and contrasts of my two books.

These are the same because they both are very good books. Another reason is because these books are realistic-fiction. Two differences are that they both do not have the same theme. Another difference is that they both do not take place in the same enviorment, they even don't take place at the same time.

My current book I’m reading is the Hunger Games bye Suzanne Collins. I am on page 48 of 374. The last book I read was Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. Something that I noticed that is the same is that both of the main characters have someone that is forced to be close to them so they decide to trust them, but aren’t sure if they can. For example in Scarlet, the main character has to trust someone to help find her grandma but isn’t sure he’s safe or not. In the book hunger games, Katniss is a tribute in the hunger games with Peeta and at first is stand offish, but then realizes he’s not bad and they work together. Another similarity I noticed is that both of them aren’t placed in America. Scarlet is set in France, and the hunger games are set in a place called Panem. One thing I realized that is different is that the book Scarlet was in present time. Hunger games are in the future of what used to be North America. One other difference is that the hunger games are more of a fight to the death themed book and Scarlet is a mystery book.

I am currently reading Titanic by John Welshman, and I am on page 33. Peter Pan and the Titanic are two completely different books, Titanic is a nonfiction book because it really happened, and Peter Pan is fiction because it is a made up sci/fi fantasy story. Peter Pan had made up characters, that could fly, that were magical, and etc, but the Titanic had characters that are real human beings, and are not made up. Titanic and Peter Pan have a few similarities, in both of the books they both have a ship involved. The second similarity of the two books is that in the book Titanic people die, and in the book Peter Pan a person dies, so in both books there are deaths that occur.

The current book that I am reading is “Clone Codes” by The Mckissacks.I am on page 41. The things that is different between my old book the Cinderella Cleaners series “Swan Fake” and my new book is, Clone codes has action and lots going on. For example, her and some students run away and Swan Fake is more about friendship, helping out and their hobbies. The things that are similar about the two books is they both are girls and go through some struggles. For example, the main character Diana in Swan Fake is having trouble finding it out if she should play in a play and help her friend or say no and go to the dance that she has, But she ends up doing both. The main character Leanna in Clone Codes and some students escape from their program because they were being treated like slaves and wanted to find freedom.

The book I was reading was Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I just finished the book. The two books i am comparing and contrasting are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Eggs by Jerry Spinelli. Two comparisons are that both of the books' main characters are both children (Alice and David) and both books have a type of animal as a main plot driver (Eggs being the nightcrawlers an Alice has the White Rabbit.) Two contrasts are that In Alice, the main character is a girl, but in Eggs, The main character is a boy. Another difference is that in Eggs None of the peripheral characters were animals, While in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, pretty much all of the peripheral characters are animals. (accept for Alice of course.)

I am reading, "Daniel X: Watch the Skies", by James Patterson and Ned Rust, and am on page 103. The last book I read was, "Rip Tide", by Kat Falls. These books are similar because they are both science fiction. However, their plots are extremely different. Rip Tide takes place in the ocean, or near it. In difference to Daniel X, which takes place in a small town. The main characters are boys and are the "heroes". They however, saved different people. Daniel saves all of earth, while Ty (Rip Tide)saves his mother and father.

One comparison i found in both books is that they both start out to a tragic start. Another comparison is both books parents don't really care for them. One difference I found was that the setting in The Hunger Games is in the woods with poor money, In Sand Dollar Summer they have an acceptable amount of money and they live on the beach. Lastly, they both take place in different times.

The book that I am currently reading is “42 The Story of Jackie Robinson” the author is Mike Lubica. I am on page 25 out of 153 pages. The last book that I read was “Rivals” by Mike Lubica. They are similar because they are both about baseball and also they have amazing facts about the past and present baseball stars. The two books tell you about things that a lot of people did not know about. The two contrasts are that “42” focuses on one specific baseball player and “Rivals” focuses on a number of baseball players. Also “42” tells you about the Brooklyn Dodgers and “Rivals” tells you about the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox.

I’m reading Enchanted by Alethea Kontis I just started reading it and I am only on page 10. One similarity between my last book A fault in our stars by john green and my book now enchanted would be the main characters are both girls. Another similarity is that both books have romance in them in a fault in our stars the main character hazel falls in love with a boy Augusts; then in enchanted my main character Sunday is falling in love with a frog. But between the books there are also some differences are that enchanted takes place in a magical land in medieval times, and then A fault in our stars takes place in present time in a large city. Another difference is Sunday in enchanted is young and healthy with no health issues what so ever, when Hazel in A fault in our stars was very ill with lung cancer and had many health issues.

I am reading Gold by Chris Cleave. I’m currently on page 35.I’m comparing my book Gold to my last book Playing with the boys by Liz Tigglar. A comparison for both my books are that the main characters are both girls and the main character in Gold is sick with cancer while in my other book Playing with the boys the main characters mom dies of leukemia. A difference is that Lucy in my old book is a lot older than the main character in my other book. Another difference is Lucy is a healthy, energetic teenager and Sophie is sick and laid back eight year old that can’t do much because it could make her sicker.

Cnechodom4 great post it was very detailed and told a lot about the character personality
Tbolton4 great job! You added a lot of details and the book sounds great.

The book I am currently reading is the Roar by Emma Clayton. I am on page 79. The last book I read was a combination of Alice's Adventures in wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. In Alice's Adventures in wonderland their is lots of personification such as talking animals, objects, and flowers, but in The Roar their is not any personification. In The Roar their are many aspects of future or alien technology, but in Alice's Adventures in wonderland the story is set in the past. Both stories have elements of fiction. In The Roar their is a disease called the animal plague, and in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland when Alice eats she grows but when she drinks she shrinks. Both books are about lost girls, and in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Alice is lost in a strange land. In The Roar Ellie is kidnapped for decades then tries to get back home.

Currently, I am reading The Limit written by Kristen Landon. And I am on page 30. The last book that I read was Vietnam. One similarity that these two books have are that both the main characters in book are men. The second similarity that the two books have are that they fight for what they want. A difference in the two books are that one is based in older times than one. Finally the last difference is that one book is not about war, and the other is.

Currently I'm reading The 39 Clues Maze Of Bones I was reading Ronald Dahl's book of ghost stories. In the 39 clues I'm on page. 22 both of the books are mysteries. Ronald Dahl's is a more scary book and is on the 1st week topic 39 clues is a really good book but it's not like Ronald Dahl's book of ghost story because it not scary 39 clues is a scfi book.

The book I am currently reading is called Sound Bender by Lin Oliver and Theo Baker, and I am on page 12. One comparison I found between this book and my other book, Stick Dog, is that they both have a comedic tone to them and they include lots of flashbacks. This results in peices of the story being put together and both books include these two things. The contrasts I have found in these books are that one is realistic fiction and one is science fiction. You can tell that these are their genres because one book has a real setting and time and place. And the other book has a real setting and time but one of the main charcters has the power to listen to objects and the objects tell them what they have seen and expierenced.

Right now I am reading Tublewisters by Garth Nix and Sean Williams and I am on page 120. The book I just recently finished was The Boy Project by Kami Kinard. The thing that both books have in common is that they both need to figure some things out also they both have a main character of a girl. They way that they are different is that The Boy Project is a realistic fiction and the Trublewisters is a nonfiction and there is also more main characters in the Trublewisters.

jmobley3 those are very good comparisons.
mwillby sounds like an interesting book.

I am reading Insurgent by Veronica Roth and I am on page 23. The last book I read was Faith, Hope, and Ivy June by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. One difference between these books is the genre. One is science fiction and the other is realistic fiction. Another difference is the setting. One book takes place in Kentucky and the other takes place in a place that doesn't exist. Two similarities between these books are that both of the main characters have a brother and both main characters move away from their homes.
@tbolton4 Is that a good series? Good job on your blog!
@qnuttal6 Great job! The Host is one of my favorite books!

The book I'm reading is Swindle by Gordan Korman and I know that Griffin and Daniel are the same because they're both teenagers and they both have 1 friend. The differences are that Daniel fights aliens throughout the galaxy and Griffin doesn't he just sits at home then another one is that Daniel can create anything with his mind and Griffin can find things using his eyes.
