I am currently reading A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson and I am on page 95. The genre of this book is realistic fiction. It takes place on the Appalachian Trail with two guys who decide to go hiking and encounter things that not many people would want to encounter. This book seems like it would be a real story or something that happened in real life. The real characters give it an even more feel to make it seem even more realistic and believable. I am most certainly enjoying this book. I recommended it to many readers. I find it very exciting and enjoyable I can’t wait to read what happens next!!

The book I am currently reading is called The Skin I'm In by Sharon G. Flake, and I'm on page 30. The genre of this book is realistic fiction. The book is realistic fiction because so far it's about a girl named Maleeka who is being bullied for the color of her skin. This book is realistic fiction because people actually do get bullied and this stuff does happen, yet it's still fiction because it's not a real life story. I am enjoying this book very much, it really tells how bullying is a big problem.

I just finished the book Sapphique, it had 462 pages. The author is Catherine Fisher. The genre would be considered as Science Fiction because there is a prison the size of a dice, and the only way to enter is through a portal. Also, half of the people in the prison are half-man half-machine. I really loved this book.

I am reading The Lost Hero, by Rick Riordan. I am on page 62. My book is fantasy, I know this because the characters are demi-gods, which are the sons and the daughters of gods, but the other parent is a mortal. Another reason I know this because they use a steam powered dragon into an area with gods. I enjoy this book because of the action and the romance involved, especially between piper and Jason. I have just always loved fantasy.

I just finished Sasquatch by Roland Smith and it was 196 pages long. The genre of my book could be one of 2 different genres depending on the reader’s opinion. My book is about Sasquatch and since Sasquatch is a myth, the book could either be seen as realistic fiction or fiction. It all depends on if you believe in Sasquatch or not. Me personally, I believe in them so I think the book is realistic fiction. The Sasquatch live on Mount Saint Helens inside the Lava Tubes. I enjoyed the book like crazy. I read it in 2 hours and could not stop reading it because it was so good. I would really recommend this book to a person who wants an adventurous book to read.

So far its about how molly’s mom had died and before her mom died she told her who her dad was, and it turns out to be Josh Cameron. A basketball player for the Celtics team. I’m enjoying this book so far. It is very interesting.

Right now I am currently reading the under dogs my Mike Lupica and I am on page 21 and it is very great just like I feel I can connect with the main character. I think it is realist fiction because like some kids really just move to play football. Also I am really enjoying the book because like I said earlier I can relate to the book because I was once on the worse team in the age group and we had to quit because we had no money and every one moved to a different team. The main characters name is will Taylor and his dad are supposed to run the football team he just does not have enough money or sponsors. And will wants to move to castle rock so he can play football

gmiller6 said...

kkaufmann6 your book sounds very cool and i would love to here more

I am reading the Underdogs by Mike Lupica and I am on page 143. The genre of my book is realistic fiction. I think that the underdogs is a great book it shows that no matter how young you are you can still make a difference. Will is a 12 year old football player that is really good but doesn’t get a chance to show it because his team doesn’t have the funds to play this year, I can relate to the story because at my old school we did not have enough money to have a football team and band. Since more people were in band they cut the school football team and I didn’t get to play that year because the only other team was an hour away. I’m enjoying this book very much because it is realistic and interesting.

I am currently reading Uglies by Scott Westerfeld and I am on page 228. The genre of the book is science fiction because the book takes place in a future dystopian society with very advanced futuristic technology, where when you turn 16 years old you undergo an extreme cosmetic surgery that reconstruct your entire body to make you pretty. This surgery is viewed as a rights of passage in Tally’s world and anyone who is normal is seen as ugly. After being shamed as an ugly since her transition from a littlie to an ugly at age 12, Tally (also known as “squint”) yearns for her 16th birthday where she can finally cross the barrier bridge to New Pretty Town and join her older friends including Peris, who is her best friend and only 3 month older than her. However during the summer she meets another ugly girl named Shay, (also known as “skinny”) while sneaking over to New Pretty Town to visit her old best friend Peris. Shay teaches her how to hoverboard and takes her out to the Rusty Ruin, the decay of modern day cities. They become best friends but Shay doesn’t believe in the surgery and want to stay herself instead of being what other people want her to look like. So instead, Shay decides to run away and tries to convince Tally to come with her to a mysterious place called The Smokes, where apparently everyone who didn’t want to become ugly escaped to. However, Tally refuses to go but Shay leaves a list of riddled direction that only Tally would understand sort of. However, on the day of her operation she is taken to meet the head of Special Circumstances, Dr. Cable, and a group of harsh pretties who wanted her to be a Spy and go to the smokes then push a button on a necklace that would leave a trace signal so that the Specials could finally locate The Smokes. If she doesn’t, she will never turn pretty. So Tally has two choses, betray her best friend or be ugly forever. But when Tally gets there she discovers that she’s not just ending Shays little adventures, she destroying their home and life. However, I am not quite sure if she will press the button or not. I am so far in love with this book and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. Will she betray her best friend? Is she and David, (Shay’s crush) going to fall in love? Will Tally turn pretty or not? I’ll find out the next time I turn the page.

I am reading “Chomp”, by Carl Hiaasen. I am on page 84. My book is contemporary realistic fiction. I know this because it is a fake story that could really take place. It talks about a boy named, Wahoo who takes care of the many animals that him and his father have. Mickey (his father) accepts a deal from a very famous television show. Then they go throughout their adventure of dealing with a very stubborn actor. In the book it states, “Mickey had kept snakes for pets“and that is just one way it is realistic. Not only that, but the book also said, “We’re heading out to the everglades for a few days” and, “his family towing a Gulf Stream trailer from one Walmart store to another” making it have modern features. Walmart is a very modern and global store we have now. This book is interesting, it reminds me of most books I read, because usually I judge books by its summary and it looked pretty boring. I can surely tell you it is not.

Great blog. You got right to the point. You had all the requirements and still managed to keep it short. That is more that I could do.

This seems like its going to be a good book. Especially for me i ion and/or sports books. Lucky me this is about an ex harvard football star being chased by a group of bad men. The book I am currently reading is called flush by Carl Hiassen,it's about a boy who's dad has anger issues and he is constantly in jail because of it. And now his mom might move away because she is sick of bailing him out. Right now I am currently on page 30, and the genre is realistic fiction. I know this because the story could really happen. Right now I really love this book I can barely keep my face out of it, I hope he makes more.

The book I am reading is “The Vampire Stalker” by Allison Van Diepen. I am currently on page 129 out 257. My book is nonfiction. I am able to specify that it is nonfiction because it involves vampires which you infer by just looking at the title. I absolutely enjoy my book an awful lot, it is very interesting.

So far I am enjoying the book, but it is different than anything else I have read before. However, it is different in a good way and I cannot wait to get more in depth into this book.

The book Im am reading is holes written by Louis Shachar and I’m currently on page 76. The genre of this book is realistic fiction because a boy that got a crime on his and was sent to a place called green lake for bad boys can really happen. I am really enjoying my book so far because he is a boy that I can see myself in. and that he is really a good kid but was put in a wrong place at a wrong time.

I am reading Percy Jackson the Lightning thief, which I am on page 42 and am enjoying it a lot.
A connection that is between the character and I is that we both don't do too well in school and struggle to keep out of trouble. Percy Jackson is always trying to find new schools that suit him better as for me I'm not really trying to find new schools so we do also have our differences. The Percy Jackson is a very good series and will ready all the other books later.
