The name of the book I am reading is called Stolen Children. It is written by Peg Kehret. I am on page 23. The tone the author has in the story is kind of creepy because there are these two men who kidnapped a random girl and they have no idea what to do with her or how to take care of her. They don't do anything to harm her or mess with her. So that makes the story more interesting, yet creepy.

The book I am reading is Heat by Mike Lupica. I am on page 68. I think the book has a happy tone and a sad tone. It is sad and happy because the boys' dad died thats the sad part and the happy part is that he is a really good pitcher/

I am reading Dead is the New Black by Marlene Perez. Im on page 100 and I'm pretty sure that the tone is creepy. The author, Marlene, talks about a certain character's skin and how it was "dead white." She also talks about events using descriptive words like dark, slowly, strange, scary, mundane, etc. The events aren't happy either; they are creepy. One event, for example, is when the main character, Daisy, opens a coffin and scrutinizes the body.

......................................................................BOOK: Mendelssohn
Author: Mozelle Moshansky
Page:32
The tone of my story is a meditative tone. My book is a meditative tone because it is neutral or impartial. When my author wrote the book he was mostly thinking about the life success of Mendelssohn. He probably wanted the tone to be neutral too. My book is about the true life history of a famous composer and his life, when he died his body was taken over two continents so he would be buried where he was born.

Hiroshima
Pg.4
John Hersey
The tone in my book i think would be sad. I that the author is sad that the atomic bomb that went off in Hiroshima and killed 100,000 people. It talks about 6 people who surrvived the bomb that went off. It is a sad story and the one who surrvived the bombing will never forget it.

I am reading a book called "A light in the storm" By Karen Hesse. I am on page 36. The tone that the author used in my book is sad. The reason is because the author is telling the reader how hard it is for the family to get around. One example from the book that shows it is sad was "We have reached the lowest point of cold so far this winter, the thermometer standing at 4 degrees. This family didn't have anything to keep them serfs worm. They were very poor, living on a farm in a very old house during a very cold winter in 1860's.

The book I am reading is called The secrets of Peaches. The author is Jodi Lynn Anderson and I am on page 63. The tone of my book is mischievous. The book is this because Leeda, and Murphy both get in trouble and they have to work in the Peach Orchard. In the end all of the girls become best friends. This makes my book very mischievous.

The book I am reading is Project Mulberry by Linda Sue Park. I am currently on page 120. The tone of the book ia angry at first because the main character doesn' want to do a project that her mom decided on and her best friend agreed. Wthout asking her.So she tries to do everything she possibly can to prevent the project from happening. She also is worried because she wanted the project to be an American project, but the project that her mom suggested was her culture.Like she tried her hardest in the book to have problems that they couldnt't fix to have to switch to another project.

aadusiaw3 said...

The book i am reading is called princess in pink by Meg Cabot. i am on page 67. so far i think the tone of the story is fun and energetic. mainly becuase the main charicter Mia is a very upbeat crazy girl, so she gives the book a fun tone.

I have just finished a book called When Kids Drive Kids Crazy. The author of the book is Eda LeShan. The overall tone of my book would be curious. An example would be when the author asks the reader, "why do kids do what they do and drive kids crazy?" And then she goes on and says what she thinks about why kids drive kids crazy and asks a lot of questions.

The name of my book is Girls That Growl. The author of my book is named Mari Mancusi The pag ethat i am currently on is 298. The tone of my book is a very stressful. In one part of the book the main character named Raine i talking about cutting herself. When she gets stressed out, it is basically called EMO.She doesn't liked to be called that so she stops for a while. But then she starts again. She also talks about killing herslef in some parts because she gets so stressed out and that represents the stressfulness of this story.

The book I am reading is Lincoln: As I Knew Him. The author is Harold Holzer. I am currently on page 115. The tone of my book is very inspiring. The book is made up of letters and documents from people who really knew Abraham Lincoln, most of them though said good things about the president so I think the author is trying to inspire you with everything Lincoln was able to do. An example of this is when Mary (Lincoln's wife) called him a good and noble man, but he was just a kentucky boy who came from a poor family.

The tone is suspensful because when ever Percy, the main character, is always getting in trouble fighting enemies and in school. But her dad said ''Do whatever you want, it's your life, so live full of it.'' Deenie wants to tell her mom that she don't want to model but she is afraid that she will upset her mom but she wants to live her life her own way.

The tone of my book would have to be chaotic but in a good way and not in the chaotic type chaotic. The tone of my book would be crazy because in the book one of the chracters ,Kate , captures and hatches an egg from another planet. While giving her speech on the egg she had some wako come on the stage and touch the hatchling or in the book an areozonian deveries to see if it was real. This is when the craziness happens. When he touches the hatchling he gets eectrocuted,he turns red, and his hand swells and the most crazy thing of all or what I thought was crazy that the hatchling has eight tentacles, a beak, and is only a few days old but is a meter long and for something to have tantacles it flew out of a window. So thats why i say this bookmis kind of crazy because alot of things happen that don't make sense like an unknowwn creature attacking a poodle and that is also another crazy thing that happened thats it why i said I think the tone is crazy.

The book i just finished reading is called Nurse by Peggy Anderson. I can't really tell you a page number because i'm done reading it but i can tell you that they're 352 pages in the book. The overrall tone i think my book uses is reflective. I say that because throughout the whole book whenever she's explaing things that go on in nursing she always reflects how she feels about the situation. For example in one part of the story she's talking about a 69 year old man kelly o brian who has ca,cancer, all over his body. His dying at a rapid pace and everybody's sick of seeing him suffer. Instead of just telling us about this situation Peggy Anderson makes sure that she illustrats her inner most thoughts and emotions to the patients family and the patients doctor.

I am currently reading Sent. By Magaret Haddix, The tone is confused and excited. Its confused because he is kind of mystified about whats going on and what he is seeing. Yet its exciting for him at the same time. The author is trying to make each character either excited or confused. When he does this it kind of builds of the storyline.

The book I am reading is All The Lovely Bad Ones by Mary Downing Hahn. The tone is creppy and horror because it is all about peole trying to find ghost in Fox Hill Inn. This is an example ''I wouldn't bother telling you'', she said at last, '' but you're sure to hear the guests talking about it. Fox Hill is mentioned in Haunted Inns Of Vermont. I know that the author made the tone horror because many people are afriad of ghost especially when you have to spend the night at a haunted house.

My book is Watership Down by Richard Adams. I am currently on page 287. The tone of my book changes from uneasy to triumphant over the course of the story. At first all the rabbits in my book are nervous about the fact of leaving their warren based on Fiver's premonition. After successfully completing their journey to the spot wear they were going to start a new warren they felt triumphant of their deeds. The Book I'm currently reading is called The Sorceress (which it is the third book in 'The Secrets of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel.')All of the books in this series are by Micheal Scott. I'm currently on page 87 out of 483 pages. The entire series is very fasinating and I have to force my self away from it to do my chores, eat, and whatever else my parents tell me to do. Oh, and the tone is (if Mr. Scott is into the books) he is probably very excited and he seems to be secrEtive because I know the prophecy but I don't think any readers are told the entire truth of the prophecy until a specific piont in the book. And I think that M.S. is trying to be a little sneaky so that he can just jump out at us... or something like that. Idon't want to tell you any more because I think that I may have told you too much alredy and you need to figure out the rest of the information on your own so that it will prepare (if you read the books) for the information you will learn.

I just finished reading the book The Boy Who Dared. It was a book about the holocaust and a boy who made enemy propaganda. He ended up being sentenced to death. The book I am currently reading is called A Divine Revelation Of Hell. The author is Mary K. Baxter. I am on page 31. The overall tone is both sorrowful and scary. An example from the book is when the author said I looked at the woman again, and worms were crawling out of the bones of her skeleton. Jesus said " She knows and feels those worms inside her." I don't think the author was trying to scare the reader, she was just trying to inform you of the horrors of Hell.

The book i am reading is "Waiting for Normal" by Leslie Connor and im currently on page 50. My over all tone is confident. The main character is wanting to find normal out of a not so normal family/ and life style. They live in a trailor and they are a close family. Im not far into the book to see what "waiting for normal" really means. But using my inference skills i know the main character wants to see what a normal family does that is "unusual" for his family.

The name of the book I'm currently reading is called the Wringer the author is Jerry Spinelli. I just started reading this kbook, but I think it's going to have a creepy tone. This is because the main character Palmer says that the soccer fields by the park are haunted and that he never lies to go there. I am currently on page 24. I think that this book is going to keep me reading.

The book I'm reading is Peak by Roland smith. I'm on page 132. I think the tone is exciting because It is always making you want to read more. It's leaves a lot of cliff hangers at the end of chapters too.

The book that I am reading is called Uh Huh the story of Ray Charles and I am on page 140. The author of this book is John Duggleby. The tone of this book is to over come something bad. This is a biography on Ray Charles and what he has to over come especialy when there are racist people.

The name of the book I am reading is Kurt Warner, Peyton Manning. I am on page 59 and the author is Richard J. Brenner. I believe that the tone of this story is inspiring. I think it is inspiring because Richard is telling the backround of these great quarterbacks to show it wasn't always easy. Richard writes in the book, "It is tough to get into the NFL."

The book i'M currently reading is called snatched from "THE BLOODWATER MYSTERIES." I'm currently on page 94. I think the tone of my book would be heroic, and helpless. I say this because it's in two perspectives. The book is based on this girl named alicia and i say she's helpless because she keeps getting beat up, and then she was "kidnapped." The other main character is the girl name roni and she's trying to be heroic by finding out who kidnapped alicia.

The book i am reading is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling. I am on page 283. The tone of the book is Mysterious. Harrys name gets picked out of the goblet of fire and nobody knows why. And they make all the contestants go into a room with the teachers and the teachers are trying to figure out if he should compete in the Triwizard tornament or not.

The book I am reading is Planet Earth by Kenneth C. Davis. I am on page 119. So far the tone of the story is insightful. I think this is a good label because this is a non~fiction story on all the hidden facts about Earth. A good example is "Does Transylvania really exist?" Another good example is "Is there enough food to feed the world?

kfundenburg,
I have read your book before, I love the ending...tell me how it goes!

the book i am reading is Brett Favre by George Rekela. I am now on page 31 and i think the tone is both happy and sad. the reason i say it is happy is because when the author is describing Brett's win it is exciting but in the games when Brett loses it is not so happy. Overall the book is showing the progress in being the best quarterback

arhoades4,

The title of my book is Nobdy's Daughter. The author Susan Beth Pfeffer. I am currently on page 30. I hink that the tone of this book is depressing. The reason I think this is because Emily (the main character) Aunt died. In previous years her mother died during child birth and her father died not long ater. She is only 11. Now she has to live in an orphanage which barely gets accepted into. Her life is just miserable!

KBroome4,

The book I am reading is The Missing: Book 1 FOUND. The author of my book is Margaret Peterson Haddix. I am on page 271. I think the tone of my book is creepy because she is trying to make it seem like it is but once you get further into the story you realize that your trying to figure out what has happened to the missing children.

My book is Al Capone does my shirts. I am on page 131. The author is Gennifer Choldenko. MY book is a happy/funny tone. The author made the book to make people laugh. One funny time in the book is that Moose's sister always takes his stuff. One time he found his toothbrush in his sisters room. Also Moose found this girl named Piper and she tries to make this buisness but she ends up getting caught and it was funny how everyone reacted.

I agree, your book sounds like it has a dark tone.

dmcbroom2 said...

The tone of my book is humorous. The motive i think the author overall had when she wrote my book is that it would be funny if she wrote a book about a girl comming from another country and missing her family back at home. But it is still fun or funny growing up in a big city like newe york. While she is still being her self (witch is hlilarious)

dmcbroom2 said...

nreed02,
I agree too.

The book I am reading is The Chronicles of Vladimir Todd: Eighth Grade Bites By Heather Brewer and I am on page 105. The tone of my book is a mix between depressing and confusing. Depressing because throughout the whole book Vlad is sad about his parents dying. He doesn't have any one to talk to besides his best friend Henry and his over protective aunt Nelly. Confusing because he has different theories about who killed his parents and I still haven't found out who did it yet.

The book I was reading was the Broke Diaries by Angela Nissel. There are many tones in my book, but the most common tones were excited and depressing. This is because when something goos came along like money or free college books Ang would get excited. On the other hand when something bad came along like bills and spending money Ang would become very depressed and down.

Every boy is reading that book. Is it really that interesting?
