This
week I want to know about the main character in your book. What is he or she
like? Describe his/her personality. How does the author Characterize them? Give one example of the STEAL that we learned in class and tell us what Character traits are present in your character. Are they stubborn, snobby, compassionate,
positive, etc.
Make sure to give me an example from the book to support your description. Don't forget to include the title of the book, author, and what page you are currently on. Make sure your post is at least 5 sentences. Remember to also respond to 2 other classmates!

I am reading “A Walk in the Woods” by Bill Bryson and I am on page 230. Well, there are several main characters in my book. There is Katz and Bryson and Katz is not spelled incorrectly. This book is about people who go hiking on the Appalachian Trail but encounter some difficulties along the way such as bears and so on. Katz and Bryson are the main characters of the book as they travel along the Appalachian Trail and experience some life threatening situations. Katz has a lazy personality he doesn’t like to do work and he would much rather stay home than hike the Appalachian Trail, either way both of them are determined to finish the Appalachian Trail whether they like it or not. Both of them have a determined mind set. Each of them has their courageous moments for example, the big storms that they encounter (snow and rain). Each of them had to sacrifice some sort of thing in order to help each other, some life threatening and some not. Both of them for sure have a courageous and determined mind set. They almost think alike at times. At times Katz can be snobby and stubborn but not all the time. Both of them try to be as positive as they can but it never works out.
I’m reading “A tree grows in Brooklyn” by Betty Smith and I’m on page 420. The main character of my book is Francie and the author is telling about how she grows up. Francie is very curious and interested about life. She wants to be a writer when she grows up. In the book Francie says “Miss Gardner said if I keep getting A’s on my compositions, she might let me write a play for graduation. I have a very beautiful idea”. The character traits that Francie shows is passion and happiness and enthusiasm, the passion to write and happy and enthusiastic to write the play.
Great job jlett6. You clearly answered this weeks question and gave some great character traits. Great job!
The book I’m reading is holes the page I’m on is 102. Stanley is an teenaged boy that is really poor and he is an cool type person with dreams the book shows himself as being a person that gets in petty trouble. But now has been caught for something he didn’t do. The traits of the character is that he don’t really get into trouble a lot but is always positive and never being mean.
jflowers3. Great job on your blog this week. You answered the question and told what charecteristic you charcters have in your book. Great job!
@JHerrera Awesome job on your blog. Very descriptive!
@jflowers3 Nice blog. I like your charecter traits! Well done.
In my book “The vampire stalker” by Allison van Deepen and the main character is Amy. Amy is the kind of girl that isn’t much noticed, she doesn’t have a very large group of friends either but is very content with the ones she has. She also LOVES to read, her room is covered in books. I would say that Amy is brave, I think that Amy is brave because when the police where about to shoot Alexander she jumped in front of him. Also when her sister was kidnapped she immediately went out to go look for her knowing that she could have been killed in both situations. And I am now done with this book.
She is a different girl whose mom is part of an organization that helps the world, but people are convinced that they are bad and are trying to take over the world. She has been described as special but where I am she is described as extraordinary. The author makes every character seem absolutely different from each other. She is very positive, smart, and thinks of things in a different manner than anyone would. I am currently on page 38; everything is really staring to change.
jherrera good detail awesome job
jlett6 good job great detail and awesome job
Im reading "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green and im on page 200. The main character is
Hazel Grace. Shes a very compassionate person. But she is sad most of the time, because she has lung cancer. In the book, she says "late in the winter of my seventeenth year, my mom decided I was depressed." This is very sad and gets you to wanting to know why she is. I am almost done with the book but its so amazing so far!
@JHerrera great job on your blog! I loved how detailed you were. It shows that you really enjoy the book!
jlett6 fantastic job ! I really loved your blog because it sums up who your character is and explains well.
The main character in my book is Rifka. She can be mean at some times and nice on at other times. Rifka is a caring nice person and willing to do about anything. The author characterizes them by telling about their personality. Rifka is positive about lots of stuff. In part of the book Rifka stays in Belgium while her family goes to America and that is how she is willing to do about anything. I am reading Letters From RIFKA. The author is Karen Hesse. I am on page 85.
@lfindley6 great job on your blog, sounds like a good book
@jherrera great job on your blog it sounds really good, makes me want to read it.
I am reading the book, Keeping the Castle, by Patrice Kindl. I am on page 130 out of261. Althea Crawlings is the main character in the book, and she is only focused on money and her family. She only looks for a man who is rich, so they can support her and her family. An example of this is when she and Mr. Godalming were speaking and he said “ I love you Althea- you are so beautiful.” She then responded, “ I love you too. You are so rich.” This shows me that she only loved him for his money, which is really selfish. The author characterizes her as an innocent/fragile girl, but she knows how to make a man do what she wants.
@lfindley6 Great job on your blog!!
@apinkney3 I read that book. Are you enjoying it?
I have finished reading joyride. The main character is Nina. She is a very lonely and shy girl because she is always moving from school to school, and can't get to know people well enough. She doesn't like the idea of moving so much with her mom, and her mom is keeping a very bad secret from Nina. Nina finds out her mom is not her real mom, and she was kidnapped at birth. Nina is upset, but still has love for her fake mom in her heart.
Eschrold6, great job!
lfindley6, sounds like a interesting character and book; nice.
I am reading Found by Margret Haddix and i just finished the book. jonah is the type of person that he likes to find out stuff but when it turns bad he doesn't want to keep going. He is adopted and that played the main conflict in the story. He is also very brave. In the story he saves many peoples lives even if it risks his. his personality is positive clever and brave.
@jherrera, Great job explaining personalities!!!
@jlett6 i like how you explained the traits.
I just finished reading the Scorch Trials by James Dasher. The main character is Thomas he is selfless, compassionate and responsible. In the story Thomas is constantly put in dangerous situations but always seems to find his way through it. In the book Thomas is put in situations with his friends who constantly betray him so they can survive but really mean him no harm. Thomas cannot decide who to trust his closest friend Teresa betrayed him then said she did it all so they would survive and now he can’t trust her anymore
great job jherrera your paragraph is very descriptive and the book sounds interesting
great job lfindley6 your paragraph is very descriptive and the book sounds interesting
I am reading "love? Maybe" by Heather helper and I am on page 133.The main character is Piper. She was born in Valentine’s Day she critical about love but she is a responsible person. After her mom getting divorced she doesn’t believe in love. Piper and her two best friends Claire and Jillian are making a plan to get their dreams date with love potion. Example: “don’t think of it’s wrong, but how it can be right”, Jillian’s says page(62) and “the last spell in the chapter makes me pause love potion” .
JHerrera really specific post good job.
jlett6 nice post. You explain good about the character.
I just finished the book “Jeremy Fink and the meaning of life” by Wendy Mass. Jeremy Fink is the main character and he doesn’t get upset very easily. Jeremy is very shy and doesn’t like to step outside of his comfort zone. He also doesn’t like surprises, “This is the prime example of why I hate surprises.” Jeremy is also very inquisitive, “I know I’m firing all these questions at him, but I can’t help it.”
Very good job JHerrera, you had a ton of details.
Good job kbailey6 you did very well.
I'm book reading is It's not like I planned it this way, by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, I'm on page 109. My books main character is about a sophomore named Alice. Her personality is multiple things one of those things is organization she wants everything to be right and has a place for everything, also she worries about everything and if it will go as planned in my book it Lester her brother says on page 37 “How do you know he’s coming to cause trouble, Alice? Will you quit jumping to conclusions?” I believe the author makes Alice’s personality like the because in the book she was the one that helped her dad and Sylvia met and fall in love, and are getting married and is getting the jitters, because her mother died 10 years ago. She doesn’t know whether to be scared or excited, because she want everything to be perfect. That is the personality of my books main character.
jlett6 your book look very interesting. Great Job!
apinkney3 great job explaining your personality of your main character.
I've finished reading "Michael Vey - Prisoner of Cell 25" by Richard Paul Evans. The main character of the book (as the title suggests) is Michael Vey. He's a typical fantasy/fiction hero (Harry Potter, Percy Jackson etc). He's a natural leader and extremely loyal to his friends and won't hesitate to try to save his mother when she is, say, kidnapped by insane scientists who wants to take over the world.
I. Just finished my book, the Absolute Value of Mike, by Kathryn Eskrin. The Main character in my book's name is Mike, he is a teenager who loves technology, social websites, and video games. Mike is devoted and determined, he was devoted to help someone in the book, adopt a kid. He was determined to get his great uncle, more active, after his son's death. Here is an example of what Mike is like, mike ask's his great aunt "Do you guys have a Play station or Xbox or anything like that?"
I like what Eschrold6 said, it set's a perfect example of how to answer the question.
Tbolton4 good job describing your main characters characteristics, you did what you were told to do, good job.
I am reading the book called “Hatchet” by Gary Paulson and I am on page 192. The main character of my book is Brian and the author describes the book of how Brian survives in the forest alone. Brian had self-pity for him when he first got lost but then he turned into a hard working survivor and now is more thoughtful and appreciative. In the end of the book it says, “He had become more thoughtful as well, and from that time on he would think slowly about something before speaking.” The traits that Brian shows throughout the book are working hard and perseverance.
@ jlett6 Great job on the blog! Good descriptive details.
@Eschrold6 Great job on answering the blog!
I am reading a book called Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. I am on page 127 of 452. The main character is Scarlet, I don’t know what she looks like but I imagine her with long brown hair. I do know that she is French. Scarlet can be stubborn at times for example, her grandma is lost and everyone keeps telling her she ran away and she’s crazy but Scarlet keeps looking for her. She has a lot of different effects on different people. One effect she has on a guy nick named wolf is that wolf is in love with her. Scarlet may like him also but doesn’t want to admit it because she finds him suspicious. Scarlet takes action in finding her grandma even though people call her crazy. Scarlet may be stubborn be she can also be a positive person because she always keeps her mind open to new possibilities.
sknowles6
good job on describing your character! I've read that book before and your description is spot on!:)
jlett6
Good job! It sounds like a good book!
@JHerrera,Great job on your post you were very detailed!
@jlett6,Great job!!you did everything you were told to do!i like how you wrote your post it was very detailed and understanding.keep up the good work!
In the book I just finished, Football Hero, by Tim Green, The main character is Troy. He is very social especially to his 2 best friends Tate and Nathan. But as the book progresses, Troy’s mood starts to decline and become very negative. He has always been a 2nd string quarterback on his football team and he decides to stop caring about football. One of the ways the author reveals troy’s feelings is by thought. For example, on page 123 Tim Green wrote: “Troy thought about all the wrong things that had happened to him lately which made him even more furious, he dug his head in his pillow and screamed.” A character trait that is shown here is anger. This was a really good book and I would recommend it to anyone interested in football.
Acollazo6,
Great job on your blog! You were very descriptive and gave lots of details.
Sknowles6,
Good job on your blog. I have read that book and you described Brian just how i pictured him.
I am reading “the total tragedy of a girl named hamlet” by Erin Dionne. I am on page 184.The main character of my book that I will be talking about is Hamlet. Hamlet is the type of girl that hates to be force to do what she doesn’t want to do. She is very unappreciative, all she wants is to have a normal life with a normal family. Hamlet is a very angry and curious person in this book. The STEAL example I will be using is THOUGHT. I chose thought because she is hateful, she is all ways thinking about hitting and punching two girls Mauri and Saber, also she hates Shakespeare.
I'm reading 'City of Orphans' by Greg Ruth and I'm currently on page 54. Maks and Willa are the main Character of this book. Maks is only 13 years old, but he has career. It is selling the newspaper. And his family is poor that they don't have much money to pay their house's rent. So he works hard to sell all newspaper. Therefore I think he is responsible. And willa doesn't know her age and she doesn't have her parents, too. She is quick witted. And she doesn't like to answer the questions.
@acollazo6 you did a great job! I want to read that book!
@jflowers3 I really like your character traits. Nice job!!
I have just started reading Alice's adventures in wonderland & Through the looking glass, by Lewis Carroll. People think they are two separate books, but when Lewis Carroll wrote them it was one book. The main character is Alice. She is very smart a brave. She is also nice, caring and curious. The author characterizes her through speech and action. Burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down a rabbit-hole under the hedge. This shows through thoughts and actions that Alice is curious.
JHerrera, great job on answering the question. sounds like a great book.
jlett6, lots of character traits, great job.
I just finished I so don't do mysteries by Barrie Summy. The main character in my book is Sherry, the author tells how she is very into mysteries. She loved finding clues to get her every step closer to finding out the mystery. Her character traits are passionate, excited, happy, and very positive. Her traits were very well explained in the book so I knew it excatly what they were.
kaesposito4
You did a great job on your blog. Really good details!
tnegron03
You had great details in your blog. Great job!
I’m Reading How To Be Popular By Meg Cabot and I finished it on Saturday. My main character Stephanie aka Steph is very bubbly, sweet, and probably one of the most sarcastic person I have ever heard of. She makes a snide comment every chance she can get. So that’s why she’s a lot like me cause I do the same thing. Like when her best friend joey said “Are you okay why are you crying?” She said back to him cause I like messing up my eye makeup, and feeling bad. But steph has your back 100 percent no matter what.
acollazo6 awesome job on your blog, well done.
kaesposito4 your blog was really good, I really enjoyed it!
The book i read for this half nine weeks is My little phony by Lisi Harrison. The main character in my book is Massie, she is a shy, over thinking, and sweet person. Her shyness sometimes gave her a little bit of jealousy. Like when she told a lie on the new girl that she had lice. Massie didn't like the way that all the boys talked and interacted with her. When boys tryed to talk to her she was just to shy to respond.
I am reading the book Million-dollar throw by Mike Lupica. I am currently on page 150 out of 244. The main character in the book is Nate Brodie, he is a determined teenager that saves up all his money to purchase an autographed ball by the patriots. Also his dream to throw a pass through a target at a Patriots game for one million dollars. An example of Nate's determination is that he practice everyday on his throwing skills as a quarter back for his school team so when he reaches his dream he is prepared with everything hes got.
@jlett6 nice job on your post very detailed.
@ehunziker4 i liked your post it was very informational and very descriptive.
My main characters name is Josh. He is in love with baseball. He dreams about it and never wants to stop. He told his dad to make him home schooled so he can practice baseball everyday with the team and his dad. That shows me that he has the dedication and wants to play baseball throughout his life. He is very respectful to everybody around him, and he is a good kid over all. Whenever his team is losing he always brings them back up by telling them “come on guys don’t give up we got this.” As you can tell he is in love with baseball.
ChaseN5 keep up the good work on your blogs, you had good details describing you r main character.
mwilby4 nice job on your blog, you need a little bit more details, but good job.
I am reading 'The House On The Gulf' by Margaret Peterson. I am on page 140 of 201. There are two main characters in my book, Brittanie and Bran. Bran is the brother, he is very sneaky and has been up to something since the day they moved in to the marquises winter house. Whenever Brittanie confronts him about something he did, he always comes up with an excuse or a lie. Brittanie is curious and determined. She feels as though bran has been hiding something. She is determined to find out what it is, with whatever it takes. Until she gets her answer she's not going to quit trying. She is always coming up with a question to ask. I love this book, It's always leaving me wondering.
JHerrera, Great job. Your blog is very detailed and the personality traits seem to give off the exact personality in the book.
Kaesposito4, Awesome job! You clearly answered this weeks question, and you make me want to read that book.
I am currently reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold and am on page 287. The main character of my book is Susie salmon. Susie is a bright girl with loving personality. She has a positive attitude on everything she does. But after she passed away she always wants to make sure everyone is happy and not internally torn by her passing. With what i've read i don't think Susie deserved to die.
chaseN5
great post! i like how you added a quote into you post.
JHerrera4
Your post was long and very detailed great work
great job JHerrera you had a long detailed blog
The book I am currently reading is Redwall by Brian Jacques and I am on page 35 out of 351. The main character of my book is an orphaned church mouse by the name of Matthias. He is clumsy and makes many mistakes yet he stays positive and has dreams of becoming a fierce warrior like Martin the Warrior. Sadly enough everyone sees him like a young bumbling child who just helps take care of the abbey like everyone else. He wants to protect Redwall Abbey from evil terrors. He begins to take command and fulfill his dream when Cluny the Scourge and his army of bilge rats takes over the Abbey slowly becoming the warrior he wants to be.
Lfindley6 I want to read that book so badly everyone says it’s amazing
JHerrera your blog is really wonderful I love how you describe the characters
good job EShrolds6 on your blog it vas very descriptive.
in my book Theodore Boone the Abduction Theo is a smart and curious kid. He is a very determined kid and a leader. Theodore is very active to the stuff that happens in his life, like when his friend got kidnapped he tried to save her. He also know many cops and lawyers, and is friends with them because his parents are lawyers. I am currently reading Theodore Boone the Abduction and I am on page 128.
The book I just finished reading is My Life in Pink and Green by Lisa Greenwald. The main character in this book is Lucy. Her family owns a pharmacy, but business isn't going well. So Lucy decided to do a go green grant. But her mom and grandma thinks she is too young and doesn't understand much to help out. When other kids hear this, they will just give up. But Lucy doesn't, so that means she is very determined. And she never gave up. So at the end, their pharmacy got the grant. I knew Lucy;s personality by her actions, and what she does and thinks.
cchumack6 good job on your blog! That sounds like an awesome book
apetersen6 good job! I liked how there was a lot of details. That sounds like an awesome book
David, the main character, in general can't seem to cope with that fact that his mother has passed away. He keeps hoping that if he obeys enough rules his mother will come back. Even if he follows the rules, his grandmother's rules, he thinks don't apply to him. After the death of his mother he became very quiet and withdrawn about the subject. His father only comes home on the weekends ,due to him being a sales manager, he can't always be there for David so his grandmother watches over David. Throughout the book he has been quite gullible, and always believes what he sees whether it was put in context or not. An example of this is when he found an egg in a girls' mouth covered in leaves and eyes closed. He believed she was dead and alerted to local authorities. He then saw the girl at a book reading he screamed because he thought the girl was a ghost. The book is Eggs By Jerry Spinelli. I am on page 114.
JHerrera: Stupendous work on your written response good sir!Keep up the exemplary work! *golf clap*
Eschrold6: Far above average work fine gentleman! You provided a great description of the character and I have half a mind to read that novel! *croquet clap*
I am reading the Green Mile by Stephen King, I am on page 145. The main character in the book is a man named John Coffey. He is on death row for murdering a couple of people. He is a tall person, over 6 feet and 9 inches. He has very broad shoulders. He has the supernatural ability to heal things and bring things back to life. For example he fixed one of the guard’s urinary tract infections. Another example is when he fixed Warden Moores (another guard) wife’s brain tumor. But the most amazing miracle he preformed is when he brought Dels mouse back to life. he wears overalls with a yellow T- shirt underneath. He never wore any shoes (he probably could not afford them). But the real question is, did John Coffey commit the crime of murder?
I am currently finished with “Perfect” by Natasha Friend. The main character Isabelle has an eating disorder, and she is going through a rough time every since her father has passed away. After her father’s death she isn't such a happy girl anymore, she has to go to a “Group” which helps her with her disorder for a deal she made with her mother. Her personality is very mellow and chill, but when she is around Ashley her best friend Isabelle isn't so much chill. Isabelle can be very stubborn around her mother at times, for example when her mother tries to make her dinner, lunch, or breakfast she insists that she won’t eat. The author characterizes her with both indirect and direct characterization.
Good post jlett. I think that your book sounds interesting I might read it
Good post jflowers. You need to work on grammar though.
@czunkel Great job on your blog I thought it was very detailed and had very strong evidence from the book, it sounds like a great book.
@sknowles6 Great job on your blog, it sounds much thought out, and you have great evidence from the book.
I am currently reading Scarlet, book two of the Lunar Chronicles, written by Marissa Meyer. I am on page 143 out of 454, and there seem to be quite a number of main characters, specifically Scarlet, Cinder, Thorne, Kai, and Wolf. The plot is still relatively fuzzy to me, though, because apparently Cinder and Scarlet meet up at some point, but as of now, the story is kind of split in two. I think that Scarlet may be more of the main focus of this book, but as of now, Cinder seems equally important…and I also know more about her. I think that Cinder is a very unique character because she is not human, instead she is a Lunar (an off-species of humans originating from the Moon, with the special ability of being able to control bioelectricity) cyborg. Cinder is always strong, willing to put aside feelings or personal objections to things if it means getting the job done. A good example of this is when Cinder is escaping from prison to avoid being killed, and on the way one of the obstacles in her way to freedom is a sewer which she very grudgingly swims through. My STEAL example is E: effect on others. This is because lots of people kind of think badly of cyborgs and extra-badly of Lunars. Being both at the same time, doesn’t really help her any. Another big effect on others that Cinder has, is this: because she’s Lunar, which means she can manipulate people’s bioelectricity, she can make people think things they don’t actually think, feel things that aren’t true, and do things they never had any intention of doing, all through her thoughts. For this reason, she obviously has a very large effect on others.
@acollazo6: Great job! We’re reading the same book!
@aposey6: You have a very… ahem… interesting book. I really liked your STEAL example. Good work!
I just finished reading "Pictures of Hollis Woods" by: Patricia Reilly Giff and the main character Hollis strikes me as the type of person that is confused about a family, is very compassionate but closes out that part of her. She goes through a lot of families, trying to fit in and wishing for some kind of real love and affection, and she shows through her actions that she is confused on what she really wants. She finally finds someone who she has to take care of because this woman forgets a lot of things. In the process, Hollis realizes how compassionate and loving she can be when she applies herself to be. Hollis has a personality that you have to "open up", in other words, you have to make her open up and tell you about herself or you'll never get to know her.
@apinkney3 Great job!!
@JHerrera amazing!
The book I'm reading is called Models Don't Eat Chocolate Cookies by Erin Dionne, on page 74. Celeste is a type of girl who acts like she doesn't care, but secretly does. She hates her weight, but hates the fact that people call her a cow. She wishes she could be in pageants like her cousin, who is so called perfect. She gets her wish, but instead it's a huskypeach pageant. From then on she eats less and eats healthier. Celeste has low self-esteem for herself, and wishes to be skinner like her cousin. She even covers herself with hoodies and track pants to not show her whole body. The steal would be looks for example Celeste said , "It's true my closet is home to track pants and hoodies in a range of colors, but I know what looks good on me." Celeste definitely has low self-esteem for herself, since she doesn't like to show her whole body.
@cfarabee4 great job on describing your character.
@cjones4 you did a good job on your blog seems like an interesting book.
I'm reading Ronald Dahl's book of ghost stories. The main character in my book is Ronald he is a really creppy person. He tells people about what he faces in life and what scary stuff he sees and been in contact. How it all stared is when he was a kid and his dad forced him to do a haunted board and ghost been following him ever sense.
25So now in my book i am on page 173 my book is called HERO and the author is mike lupica. The main character in my book is a 15 year old boy named Zach. Zach's dad works for the president of the united states and he believes that they are planning something. Zach is very caring and very loyal to his dad. Im guessing hes tall because in the book he says that he's the quarterback for the varsity team and earlier into the book it said sometimes he felt uncomfortable always being the talllest in the class. Zach also has brown hair. Zach is very loyal ecsepcially to his dad he does everything his dad tells him to and theere is alot of trust between them his dad tells him everything thats going on with the president and after school zach always does research on the president's recent behavior compared to his behavior six months ago there is a difference. Now were im at the teaming together to try to find some clues.
@aouelette3 i really liked your post it was nice and very detailed.
@eschrold good job on your post rifka sounds interesting nice job.
The book I am reading is, “Chomp”, by Carl Hiassen, and I am on page 290. The main character of my book is Wahoo Cray. He is a boy about 13 or so, and he is very caring. Every single time his father got himself into trouble, Wahoo got him out. Along with Tuna, and others, he helped them with whatever trouble they had. In the book it shows me, with action, that Wahoo is compassionate. “Wahoo came bolting in horror out of the trees. ‘Pop! No!’”. This happened when a character shot his dad. As you can tell with his action, he got out of hiding to try and help his father, Mickey.
@cfarabee
Great job on your post!
@nbrook6
Great Comment!
The book I was reading is called Search for Safety,by John Langan. Right now I have finished the book and it was a outstanding read. The main character in my book is named Ben and in the beginning of the story he was a calm and always glad to be around. But throughout the story he became a quiet boy who was hiding anger. The reason why was because his mom started to date this man named Larry. Larry was abusive, and he hit Ben's mom and sometimes even Ben. I think that the author, John Langan, characterizes Ben as a person who is hopeless but is not giving up, even though he knows that he is hopeless. I think that the author would put Ben in a optimistic category. I would also categorize Ben as optimistic, because no matter what he is always happy.
Terrific job mglaser3, did a great explanation of your book.
Outstanding job cchumack3, you were very detailed
Well, the book I am reading is called Torn Away. I am on page 153 out of 185 pages. My main character is a boy named Declan. He was pulled away from his home so he is very upset or should I say rude. His clothes are very dingy and dirty and he has scraggly uncut hair. He tends to give people that “get away from me” vibe also. He thinks Kendra and Mathew - the “orphan” parents – are trying to make him a “fixer” as they are. Declan is also very stubborn, as Ana – the sister – would say.
Ale4, I think you need a little bit of work, spelling, and punctuation. Try looking at lbrown4. Lbrown4, great job! I loved everything about it. You should defiantly hope you get a one-hundred, you deserve it!
I am reading Looking For Alaska by John Green and I am on page 60. The main character in my book is Alaska Young. Alaska is moody and outspoken. I know that she is moody because the Colonel warned Pudge about it. She is outspoken because, for example, when Pudge looked out the window during class and the teacher kicked him out, she said "I'm sorry, but that's bull. You can't just throw him out of class. You drone on and on for an hour every day, and we're not allowed to glance out the window?"
@jherrera Great job on your blog! It was very detailed.
@tjensen I didn't know that those were two separate books! That's really interesting.
I am reading the fault in our stars by John Green. So far I am on page 300. The main character in my book is Hazel she is a very caring person. I know this because in one part she goes to a gas station to meet her friend at 2:35 am. Also in another part her blind friend wants to play a game with her that she doesn't want to play cause its weird playing with someone who's blind. She then makes the decision to go and play cause that her friend.
@blythgoe4 good job on your blog! That book sounds funny and interesting!
@apinkney3 I like your blog its very detailed an put nice. Good job!
My main character is Daniel X. He likes to joke around a lot because he always wins. His personality is kind of kind and kind of not, like he's nice around people he likes and he's a jerk to the people he doesn't like. The author characterizes him as a funny good guy. I'm reading Daniel X by James Patterson and I just finished it.
I am reading the book Percy Jackson the Lightning Thief, which is written by Rick Riordan and I am on page 374. The character in my book is named Percy Jackson, and he is determined to get his mother back from Hades. One thing he must also do is to return a lightning bolt that the gods have accused him of stealing. Percy Jackson is a twelve year old boy, but he is very strong and dedicated to whatever he starts. Percy also has problems with his step dad Gabe but that doesn't stop him from being heroic.

Her mom died like to years ago and her dad is obsessed with books. He is a good dad, but he is more concerned of books than his own daughter. She is compassionate about socks, friends, and family.. well some of her friends are family
I am reading “Hoot” by Carl Hiaasen. The main character, Roy Eberhardt, was born in Detroit Michigan. Since then he has lived in six other places. Before moving to Coconut Cove, he lived in Montana. He told his new middle school classmates at Trace. From then on he was called “cowgirl”, “Tex”, or “Roy Rogers-hardt”. Roy is 14 and acts civilized in conversation.
