Take a few minutes and look back at last years blog questions and comments.
Pick at least one response that you think is a good example of how to correctly answer the blog. List the Blog # and the username(athomas1 in Blog #12) and why you think it is a good example of how to get an 'A' on your blog each week. Also, pick out at least one example of what not to do when answering the blog. List the Blog # and username and why it is an example of how not to get an 'A' on your blog each week.
Lastly, let us know if you are excited about using the blog or are nervous about it and why.
Your posted response should answer ALL 3 parts.
Do not forget to comment on at least 2 other responses.

Fgoetz2 on blog #13 said this: I am currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling. I am on page 273. ''Goblet'' is the most important word in the story to me.'' The champions will be chosen by an impartial selector: the Goblet of Fire.'' The main character, Harry is picked even though he is underage and unprepared.... this may lead to unfortunate effects. I think this is a correct way of answering a question because it has a good explanation of why the word is the most important in the book. It also has good capitalization, and spelling. Tdaigle6 on blog #13 said this: I am reading Here Today by Ann Martin. I am on page 7. I think the most important word is sensitive. "Though elie was sensitive, she tried not to show it." I think this one is a bad example because it isn’t very descriptive, and it is really boring and not interesting. About how I feel about the blog, I think it’s okay because you get to type a lot, and I like to type. Plus, you get to share your opinion about books and other people’s comments.
@rgatlin commented on blog number 14 and I think that he made a great comment because he was honest and he had good structure in his comment. Even though he had one typo it was still a good and positive comment about how he liked his other classmates and how he liked Mrs. A. Thomas as a teacher. He also said that his class was fun and that it was one of his favorites, and currently its mine too. Overall this is a great comment about how he enjoyed his class with Mrs. A. Thomas. Thank you rgatlin.
Aazoca6 commented on blog #5, they explained their answer very well about the question. He restated the question and answered it in his own words. A very spectacular example of how to answer a blog question. @tdcole6on blog #13 did not describe what he needed to say on the post he just simply said “that sounds like a good book.” He should have described it more and said something like “ That book looks really cool how was it?” Instead of just saying something simple like what he said. I feel scared slash exicted because ive never done a blog before so what if I mess up on it and get a bad grade. Or what if I do really well. I hope I do awesome thou.
@eyakel6 on Blog #14
This is a great example of how to respond to a comment. It shows that they paid attention and understood the unit as well if not more than the original commenter. It shows that they can both relate to some parts of the unit whether it is positive or negative. It’s a great example of common understanding and appreciation of a subject. This is the way everyone should respond, sowing a good understanding on a single subject.
@ttaylor5 on Blog #11
This is a perfect example of complete and utter laziness. This comment is seen so often it can be made into a catch phrase! The sheer lack of work done on this comment is amazing. For all we know this could be a copy of a copy of a comment. They look so similar you can’t tell where the first comment started and where the last comment ends. They just keep coming.
A bad example of a blog is in blog #2 when human5 said...“My book is The gathering Dead. The author is Stephen knight. I am on page 60. I would recommend this book to trent. I would recommend it because it is full of action.” This is not very descriptive, has a few grammar errors, and barely meets the criteria of a blog. A good example of a blog is in blog #2 when asantacroce2 said… “The new book I am reading is Scat, by Carl Hiaasen. The current page number I am on is 10. The person I would tell to read this book is my friend Gabriella, because for one she loves to read big books. The second reason is because her favorite genre is mystery. The reason is because when she reads mystery books she gets all excited, and that’s the reason I would pick my friend Gabriella.” This is a very good example because it is full of details and has good grammar/spelling. This year I am really looking forward to blogging. I enjoy writing, reading, and sharing what I know with my other classmates.
A good example of a well written blog was written by pblangor5 during blog #13. The writer clearly states the name of the book, the author, and the current page number that he is on. He also explains his word which is survival and goes into great detail about his word corresponds to his book and where he currently is in the book. Another blog that I found was not so bright. The writers name is LMiller2 and he was on blog #4. The blog states to describe the characters personality and what they look like. The writer only states what the character is currently on the hunt for. He does not describe the character or his personality. The blog has several grammar and punctuation marks which makes it harder for the reader to understand what he is trying to say. Improper capitalization is also used within the blog. I am neither excited nor nervous about this year’s upcoming blog. I have been doing a blog for 2 years now so I am used to how things go and when to make time so I can accomplish the current weeks blog.
Wperkins6 on blog #7 did a great job using details to describe what the author needed to research. Wperkins6 also used correct grammar and punctuation. I believe it was a blog that deserves an ‘A’. A blog that I didn’t think deserved an ‘A’ was mvang05 on blog #7. Mvang05 didn’t have any details about the book she/he was currently reading and overall seemed clueless to the idea of the book. Mvang05 failed to answer the prompt for the blog. I’m not nervous about the blogs because I’m used to doing them from last year. I also found the blogs easy to do.
@Kbergman3 I totally agree with you, there was no effort put into the 2nd on was nonexcistent
Malcolm Glasear,
Good job on your blog bud. Good detail and good examples of a good and not so good blog.
A bad example is aazoca6 on blog 9 comment and said...
It isn’t very detailed about how he got chomped by the alligator. Also his sentences were short and boring. What would have made it better would be to detail the attack and explain why it happened.
ccummings5 on blog 9
It was very detailed and had good examples about the big event that was going on. I liked the fact that you detailed the event in chronicalogical order.
I am looking forward to blogging because I can find new books that I haven’t heard of before.
Nhamilton2 in blog #12 is a ‘C’ or ‘B’ example because they aren’t very clear about every last detail. They also give some information but it is jumbled and not easy to understand.
Nhutto2 in blog #3 is an ‘A’ example because he is very concise when he posts. He gives much information but he gets to the point and doesn’t get off topic.
I’m very excited to do this blog because I’ve never done something like this before. It’s a lot easier and more fun than the things I did at my old school.
amills3,
Great job on your blog. You were very descriptive and made it very clear on which was the good blog and which was bad.
@cnechodom4 good job on your blog. it was long and detailed.
@lmarkowitz4 I think you did a very good job with identifying the mistakes that @mvang05 made.
@mwilby4 You did a great job explaining why the examples you chose were good or bad. Great job!
jmobley3...
Good job on your post! I thought it was very in-depth.
SSUKIN5(BLOG#13) IS A BAD CHOICE BECAUSE SHE, SEEMED LIKE SHE RUSHED IT SHE GAVE LITTLE DETAIL. ALSO THERE WERE INCOMPLETE SENTENCES THAT IS A VERY BAD THING TO DO AND IT WAS LESS THAN 50 WORDS. MQUINN6 (BLOG#14) IS A GOOD EXAMPLE BECAUSE SHE/HE GIVES GOOD DETAILS.THEY ALSO HAVE EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE ASKING FOR.IAM NERVOUS ABOUT STARTING BECAUSE MY COMPUTER IS DOWN AT HOME BUT I WILL TRY MY HARDEST TO COMPLETE MY WORK.
An example of a bad blog is Lmiller2 on blog #14. He didn’t really explain why he didn’t like the notebook tests or why he liked the yoga class. It was also very choppy and short with no support. A good example one was Epata2 because his was long and gave many reasons and examples about what he liked and didn’t like and supported them by telling why he thought that. I’m not really excited or nervous about the blog because it seems like it’ll be easy and just as long as I read enough pages and do it right I’ll be good.
@Tblonton4 good job explaing everything and giving good reasons
Arockett2 from Blog #12 is a good example because she gives good details about the character and explains each reason well. It makes her answer more sophisticated because it lays a short story out. Mvango5 from Blog #10 is a bad example because they didn’t make it five sentences and its not very detailed. As far as the blog goes, im pretty excited! It seems cool to do and im excited for it. I really think reading will be more fun with the blog!
The way Adavis2 had a good blog is because it was well thought out and it made a lot of sense. And he gave a great amount of detail and he listed his page number and how he is almost done with the book and he even gave use a little bit to simmer on like how he told us a little about his book.
In blog 13@anorwood this is a good example of a bad blog because they really didn’t give enough details or explain and answer the question for the blog correctly
In blog 13@bmendozas that is a really good blog because they give a lot of details and good explanations and said clearly everything so people could understand and be able to read without any problems. This good example on how to get an A because they show hard work and great efforts.
The way I feel about these blogs is actually really good I think I’m ready for eight grade and am ready for more responsibility. But I am very excited!
Nhutto2 in blog #5 is a good example of how to get an “A” because the paragraph is right on point. There are at least 5 sentences and the grammar and punctuation is done well. They answered the weekly question well and in good length and detail. Dmcknight2 in blog #5 is an example of how not to get an “A” because they were not very descriptive and a little vague. Also, some of the punctuation was incorrect. I’m very excited to blog for reading class because it will be easier to turn in my homework and it seems very technological and different from just writing on paper.
I think PBlangor5 on blog #5 had a great example of a great blog post. Pblangor5 said…
I'm currently reading Legend by Maria Lu. The characters are believable because they all have some dark past that brought them to what they are today. So far my favorite character is Day. Everyone thinks that he's a bad guy, but they don't know that he's innocent. He's fighting only to get medicine and food for his family.
March 20, 2013 at 4:22 PM
They explain how there character is believable. They give examples stating why their character is a believable character in their book. They aren’t just stating it’s a good book I really enjoyed it and the character is believable. Instead they go the full nine yards and tell why their character is believable on the other hand…
February 25, 2013 at 7:02 PM
On blog #5 is an example of what not to do. aazoca6 said...
I am reading the hardy boys by Franklin W Dixon. I am on page 98. The author makes my characters believable because she puts in so much detail. Also he knows how the detectives must act. Lastly he makes the cases sound believable.
They started out ok but then didn’t state or tell me why the character was believable. They just state that the character is believable because the author put many details in the book. That doesn’t give me specific details of why or how the character is believable and I do not think that this blog is a good example of how to get an A on the blog that’s. I am excited for the blogs this year. I am hoping to find out about new books through what people post this year. I am really excited!
OPanchal5 is one of the many bad example of how to do a reading blog, the reason that OPanchal5 is a bad example is because writing about your personal issues is not appropriate for a blog.
On the other hand asantacroce2 wrote a superb blog for number 11. The reason that I say this is because asantacroce2 had written a blog at least long enough to be a paragraph.
asantacroce2 had pin-pointed all the key points to describe the blog question appropriately.
Great job cnechodom4 I like how you explained the blog thoroughly, keep it up.
(Nhutto2 in Blog#5) Is a good example of what to do because, they use very specific details, and they actually give 7 sentences to answer their question. (mlayne2 in Blog#9) is a good example on what not to do because, she doesn’t answer the question she is supposed to answer. She doesn’t give 5 sentences answering the question, she only gives three. I am excited about using this blog because I am interested to see what other people say about their books, and I want to be able to show people what I have to say about my book. I also like the fact that we are able to comment on two posts of other people.
Spectacular job lmarkowitz4 I like how you included lots of details and you made your post clear and focused.
@cnechodom4 your response is very detailed and very strong, great job.
@Pbanglor5 #13
What you said is so true, sometimes to keep moving is the only way to survive, and it sounds like a great book.
lfindley6, great job on your blog!Your details were very good and descriptive!
@aouellette3 You have very detailed posts and do a great job of explaining your reasoning! Good job!!
jherrera Great job on your blog! i liked how you gave specific details about the bad and good examples.
Great job aouellette3! You clearly answered the blog of the week and supported your reasons of why your examples are good and bad.
@anorwood
great book. Great post also. Keep up the good work! (:
@arockett2
I absolutely love that book! Your post tells everything it should, in a well put, detailed way. Great Job! (:
I picked blog number 11 and I think IRivera2 did a really good job on her blog. IRivera2 had all the information she was supposed to put in it and she had some good examples to answer the question given to her. I didn’t feel that Dmcknight2 had enough details in their blog, I felt that they were trying to rush through it, so that blog is away to get a bad grade. I am not exactly exited about the blog because I haven’t ever done a blog before so I don’t know if I will like it. I will do my best to do all the blogs given to me so I will probably learn to like it.
nhamilton2 in blog number 13 had very good grammar and was very much straight forward on what he/she was trying to say. sfreer2 in blog 13 had horrible grammar and spelling and there for it is a bad example of how to make a blog. I am very much looking forward to the blog because I like reading and it is easier than reading logs.
Excellent job bking3!You clearly supported your reasons of why your examples are good and bad and you also gave plenty of details to support your answer. You did great!
@jlett6 great job with your blog! i love that you included lots of details and made the blog more interesting with your words.
Bmendoza5 in blog #10 has a great example of what a blog should be. It is a good example because it is written in a smooth factual and complete way that answers the question very well. OPanchal5 in blog #10 wrote a bad example of a complete blog. The blog is lacking of much detail and support on his ideas. I am both excited and nervous about the blog mainly the commenting.
I have mixed emotions about the reading blog. I think that it will be a good change from the regular paper homework, but i also think that it will be a small hassle also.
@aouellette3 amazing job! i loved the way you were very focused and detailed in your blog.
aouellette3: Great post
bking3: great post you did a great job describing the other posts.
Gmiller6
The way Adavis2 had a good blog is because it was well thought out and it made a lot of sense. And he gave a great amount of detail and he listed his page number and how he is almost done with the book and he even gave use a little bit to simmer on like how he told us a little about his book.Pblangor5 did not have enough and it also was very vague. Also I am looking forward to the blog this year I think it is going to be real fun. Because I get to talk to my peers and I also get to tell them what I think about their book and then I can tell them about my book and then they can tell me what they think about is.
(ccummings5) blog#9 this is a very good job. One you were very descriptive and really seemed interested in that book. The book its self also seems interesting and his name is noah also.
(nhutto2) blog#9 just saying NICE! Is very good at all and kinda lame
great job on your blogbking3.
I think zbauer5 from blog #11 is a bad example, because the person only wrote three sentences. And the sentences aren't even good sentences. A good example is Epata2 from blog #11. The person did five sentences, and all of those sentences are really good. The sentences are very detailed and specific. I'm pretty excited about doing blogs because you could see what other people are reading, so you could find some good books.
@awilsom6 blog #5 had a very good example of how to do a blog. They follow everything that they are supposed to for the blog. @gparent5 had a bad example of what to post. He had five sentences but they were choppy and short. In their post they didn’t really explain their answer as well as others did. I am excited to the blog. Mainly because I want to see what other people are reading and I want to tell others about what I am reading.
(yalvarez6 on blog #12) is a good example on how to get an A on you blog because, they use descriptive words and they meet the amount of sentences that they were old to do. (Dreynolds6 in blog #12) is a good example of how not to get an A on your blog each week because, they only have 2 sentences and they do not describe much. I am excited about using the blog because I can’t wait to tell people about my book and because I can tell other people what I think about their blog as well as them with mine.
@lfindley6 Your paragraph was really good and well written. Excellent job!
tjenson6 good joob see u in class monday
MLayne2 on blog number 3 is a good example of how to do a good blog. They put in many specific details about the blog question and they also put six sentences. Dmcknight2 on blog number 5 is a good example of what not to due for a blog. They did not fully answer the question with any specific details explaining their answer. The sentences were very short with no detail added into them. I am interested to read about what other people think of their book.
OPancha5 on blog 11 Is a bad example of how to correctly answer a blog, he is putting his personal life into his blog and he does not post a single thing about what he was supposed to post. OPancha5 was not only off topic but he only typed one incomplete sentence for his blog. bmendoza5 on blog 11 is a good example of how to make a blog. The only problem with his blog is he has 4 really long sentences but doesn’t have enough. Other than that he has a very specific and detailed blog. I have mixed emotions about this blog, I think that it is going to be interesting but it could be very annoying at the same time
good job tjenson6
@fgotez blog #13 great job on your blog. The book sounds really interesting .
@fgotez but one thing I didn’t like was that u weren’t very descriptive. You went straight to talking about somebody else’s blog.
@jlett6 good job on your blog. I liked how you added a lot of details and answered all the questions.
Gmiller6 awesome job on your answer really awesome job!
mwilby4 great job on your blog. I liked how you said what you liked about the good post and what you disliked about the bad post.
Hlawson3, your blog is greatly detailed and in depth, great job!
acollins6 I liked how you used describive words like "choppy and "short". Good job.
kbailey6 good job, i liked how you answered all the questions and you put work into your answer. Good job!
Cdayawon-bobbitt5 had a good example because he had really great details about why he liked reading class so much during the year. Lcummings2 was a bad example because the blog only had three sentences and they were not that descriptive. Also the blog did not give a lot of reasons to what the question was asking. I think that I am going to really like doing this blog this year. It is a great way to learn about what other people are reading and that you can also comment on there posts as well.
@rgatlin2 blog #14 was a great blog. They punctuated correctly and explained everything well. @lcummings2 blog #14 was a poor example because they could have explained more about their favorite part of the year. @OPanchal5 blog #14 was another poor example because they said it was funny but they did not say what was funny.
I think @Arockett2 responce in blog 11 was good. They described there answer for the question very well! The things they said were very true and was put well. They put there point into a great paragraph which was very descriptive. They sorta restated the question in there answer which was even better.
One that I thought that wasnt that good bad in blog and it was @jphan2. Sure they put in what was needed but it needed a bit more detail, as in what else was maybe researched. It was good, but since Ive never read the book all I know is that theres witches and nothing else.

A good example of a well written reading log would be NSmith5 from Blog #2 because they had specific details on their answer to the question (which in this case was why their friend would enjoy their book). They said what type of things they observed in the book that would interest their friend. I would think they deserved an ‘A’ because of how they went to the point. They also included some (in my opinion) humor in their explanation. They also of course put the basics, such as page number, book ,etc..
A bad example of a reading log would be gparent5 from Blog #2. They didn’t have many details at all of why their book would’ve been good. They also had many grammar problems that could have been fixed with just a moment of their time. They said they loved the book, but didn’t explain why. I am nervous about this reading blog, because everyone makes mistakes and forgets things. I am one of those people and would not want bad grades on my report card. So I am going to try hard for this.
@amills3 That was really good searching. I can really see why the comment was good. I can tell you are going to do good on your blogs.
@mmoffit6 Good eye, and I have done these before and they are really exciting to most people. Just be careful and punctual.
@Hlawson3 Very good blog. The details were great!
@Amills Great blog cant wait to read more!
Good job jmobley3 you did a really good job!
APerez4 you did a really good job, you had good word choice!
Jwalker5 commented on blog # 14. This is a good example on how to do a blog because they had complete sentences. They had only four sentences but they were to sentences put together to make a better sentence. OPanchal5 commented on blog # 14. This is a bad example of a blog because they didn’t have proper punctuation. They also didn’t have a complete sentence.
I am excited to do this blog because now I don’t have to write down a reading log. I also am excited because I love to type on the computer and I am glad to be in this class!!!
@Hlawson3. Great job on your post.
@Ehunziker4,great job, your post was very detailed!!
@kchrisopulos3
Your response was really good! You were very descriptive on what they said in the blog! Great Job!
@ djouvenas3
Your blog was long and very detailed!
You did a great job !
cnechodom4 I love you post it describes all key elements of the question, keep up the good work!
cnechodom4 you had an amazing way of saying how the other peoples blogs were either good or bad, keep up the good work and you will continue to do a fantastic job.

aouellette3! good job You clearly answered the blog of the week and supported your reasons of why your examples are good and bad.
hlawson3 good job You clearly answered the blog of the week and supported your reasons of why your examples are good and bad.
@lmarkowitz4 You answered this weeks blog question very well and gave great reasons on why a blog was bad or why a blog was good. Great job!
llambert6 (blog #2) is a bad example because you said to hav 5 sentences and he only did 4, also it wasn't a paragraph it was it was just numbered bullet points with the answers. A good example would be gparent5 because she had a 5 sentence paragraph and she explained why she was enjoying the book.

Tdcole6 in blog#9 is a bad example because all they said was great job. Instead he should of said something like “great job, the book sounds great.”
DMcKnight in blog#9 is a good example because they explained why it was a good blog. To me a good blog would be just like that.
Im not very nervous about this weekly assignment. It seems like a good and interesting way to learn and interact with others.
cnechodom4 great response. keep up the good work.
jmobley3 I like how you put a lot of thought and detail into your post. you definitely are a great example of a good post. keep it up.
I'm pretty exited to be reading blogs for home work personally. Its easy fun and pretty interesting if you ask me. so like i said I'm pretty exited to see all the bogs that we will read and the great comments other students post! Already i see some interesting comments. Also i can see people posting comments on books. i can already tell I'm about to get in a reading frenzy!
(gparent5 blog#3) Is a good example because she answers the blog correctly and she has good details. I like how she describes the character from the book. (aisom6 blog#2) is not a good example of getting a (A) because that person doesn’t capital the letters and he didn’t give specific details. I’m excited to use the blog because it looks interesting. Also, I could get to know what type of books people reads.
Good job on your post @kkaufmann6
I like how you explained of a good and bad blog. Keep it up! @cnechodom4
Gmontgomery2 in blog # 10) was a bad post s/he didn’t give a reason why they were good they just said good job.
(Ttaylor5 in blog # 10) made a good post gave good tips and could help someone lots of info.
This blog is a little hard but when you get the hang of it it’s not all that hard so after figured out very easy. I hope it stays like this the whole year.
bking3 good job on your blog. I liked how you gave a lot of details and explained how you felt about blogs
I think that pblangor5 did a good job explaining the word and why it is so important to the story he was reading. I think that McKnight2 could have done a little better. He could have added a little more detail and description to his blog. I think that He could have also added the name of the main character.
To be honest I do not like the Idea of the blog. I feel like the internet is never my friend and I always seem to have difficulty working the internet. I think that I would definitely be better of Doing the blogs on a separate piece of paper.
gmiller6, Great job on your post! I liked how you were very descriptive and used good vocabulary words. keep up the awesome work!
kkaufmann6, I liked how you made it clear and very descriptive on why the other people's blogs were good and bad. I also really liked how you gave 2 reasons why you were exited about doing the blog. Great work, keep it up!
(Rgaltin2 in blog #11 was a good post because he/she gave great details and reasons why it's good but may have many consequences to being able to defend yourself.(Mglover6 in blog #11 was not the best post because he had misspelled words, missing his punctuations and run on sentences. This made it hard to understand what his point was. I feel that the blog will be a challenge, because it's something totally new and different to be doing.
@nbrown5 in blog number 14 was a bad example.I think this because he only gave 2 sentencess when its suppose to be 3 to four sentences, and his choice of vocabulary was very poor. He also didnt give enouqh details he just went straight to the point.A good example would be @akinney5 in blog number 14. I like how she used our grade level words that we should be using. I Also like how she explained and put details into what she was saying. I can really look upp to her writing because she did a outstanding job. A+ for you :)
@Hlawson3 You had amazing details on what you were talking about very well put.
@Cnechodom4 Great job on your post you described and explained extremely well why the posts were good and bad.
@anorwood very good description of the book, but i think that you should have tried to
find a way to bring your sentences together or add commas.@icummings very good thorough
description, it sounds like a good book and i also love that movie.@asanatcroce2
i totally agree but i don't think that she would just love those things just because
the people(or vampires and werewolf's) she knows are those things maybe something about
motorcycles, but for the most part i do agree.
@acash3 very good tips that you gave.
@tnegron3 good way of getting straight to the point.
@pblangor5 commented on blog# 13 is a good example of a very excellent blog. The way the person describes the book is full of details and states the page number they are on and the summary of the book they read so far. A bad example of a blog is blog # 5 when aisom6 does not state any specific detail on how the character is believable at all, and does not put down the page number he or she is on. Aisom6 also didn't type at least five sentences on his blog either. This year is my first time doing a blog ever in my whole life so i am pretty much looking forward to it.
I have to say, bmandoza's answer for the FCAT games, it sets a good example for what you do when you comment on a blog.
I say nluna6 is setting a bad example of how to comment on a blog becaus, he said "I have never done FCAT", and he wrote bad grammar.
@tbolotn4 Thats a very good blog you posted. Keep up the good work.
@cnechodom4 nice post man keep up the good work.
Bking3 did a great job on her blog because she not only had details but she also was very kind and truthful. I think that bking3 was a good example of an A because she included a lot of details and she was nice. On the other hand I think that ahan4 could have done a little better because his post was not as detailed and it went straight to the bad post, I think that it would have been a little better if he had a little bit more transition words.
Great job chumack6 I like the way you added plenty of details and you were very colorful with your vocabulary.
Outstanding job ahan4 I thought you were A worthy. Keep it coming.
I am excited to use the blog because this is a new way of doing things for me, but if it will help me learn then I am ready for it.
cnechodom4 ....
Good job on your blog about bad blogs and good blogs chase.(: It was very detailed and in depth.
@Dbrown3
I agree with you!:) Its cool to be able to talk about the books we're going to read through out the year.:)
I'm excited to blog about the books throughout the year because it will be fun to get other peoples feedback on our books and to be able to share opinions on other books.
Nhutto2 on Blog #9 is a great example of a well written blog. The writer’s response is thoughtful, sophisticated, clear, and precise, with lots of detail that completely answers the question. The response is also well exceeds the expectation of 50 words, and directly states the title of the book he was currently reading, the author, and what page he was on. If I had to give Nhutto2 a grade, it would most definitely be an A. An excellent example of a poor blog post would be DMcKnight2. The blogger failed to state the author of the book and did not include much detail and thoughtfulness in his answer of what he would do in the situation in his book. His post is also less than 50 words and only 4 sentences long. However he still responded to two blogs but overall DMcKnight2 did not exceed the expectation of an A blog. I actually am excited about answering the blogs this year. I think it cool that I get to share my ideas with others and learn about new books as well. I am also excited to hear what people think of my posts and what I can do to improve my writing.
cnechodom4
Great on your post. Your response was long, very detailed and thoroughly explained what a good and bad example of a blog was.
lmarkowitz4
Your response to the blog was well thought out and has good example of what a good blog and a bad blog look like. Keep up the good work!
I think rgatlin2 was a good example because, she/he had a vary descriptive blog and had 5 sentences. She expands how the school year was fun. She answered the question perfectly. DSmith5 was a bad example because he used the person’s name in the comment. I think is going to be easier for me to remember to do the blog, I’m going to love this class!
(nsmith in blog #2)is a good example of what to do because he/she did actually what you told he/she to do .For example he/she gave you the number of pages, five sentences and etc. GREAT JOB!!(arockett2 in blog #2)is a good example on what not to do because, he/she didn't do what you said to do. For example he/she had no page number,5 sentences ,and also didn't answer the response correctly..im very happy about using the blog because I want to see some books I can read ,what people say and think about the books that are on this blog! I think this blog is a excellent idea mrsathomas!!
@aouellette3: you did a great job on your post! you were very detailed and proper..! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
BCampbell5 in blog #7 did an excellent job of being descriptive and concise with his post. They are very good at getting straight to the point while giving key points and their own opinion.
dblair6 in blog #5 has some examples of what not to do. Their grammar is a little off and their post is confusing when read. They do give some information but it would be better if they had elaborated more on their post.
I am really excited about this blog because it's something new and easy. It's also a great way to get to know other people's opinions on certain books or information within a book. I can't wait to continue this blog throughout the year!
@cchumack6 You did and a good job explaining your reasoning. Keep up the good work!
@aniya posey You did an excellent job of being descriptive and explaining your reasoning of why you chose those people! Keep up the good work!
@rqualls: your post was great. You gave lots of details and examples!!:) and I also agree with you about your response on Nhutto2
aouellette3 Great job on giving specific details!
Gmiller6 You did an amazing job on giving details. Nice job!
pblangor5 is a good example on how to get a good grade on a blog because this person answers all questions that were given. DMcKnight2 is a good example on how not to get a good grade on a blog. This person didn’t answer all the questions that were given. I am nervous about doing the blog because I’ve never done a blog before. I’m also am nervous because I don’t want to forget to do a blog and get an “F” on it because I forgot to do it.
aniya posey good job on explaining your reasons. Keep it up!
qnuttall2 good job you used great details. Excellent nice work!
GOOD
sfreer2—post 9: This was a very good blog post in my opinion. They did all that they were supposed to, and answered the question in a believable way. I have read the same book, and in that situation, I probably would have also said something along those lines. Good job!
NOT SO GOOD
Lmiller2—post 13: This was (hopefully) not one of your greatest moments. The entire post was concocted of many choppy, broken up sentences. This made it more than slightly difficult to read. You also did not list the author of your book; and you began a sentence with the word ‘And’… :( …
that last post was from Sphillips4
I forgot...
I think the blog is a good idea, we can discuss our books and comment on others'. Like I said, good idea.
I thought that CWALKER5 blog # 10 was a very good example, because it had a lot details and had a lot of support for why he thought the tone was loyalty. It also included the pg. #, and gave examples from his book. I thought that jlexley blog#10 was not the best example to use because it did not any detail from the book of he or she thought that the tone was mysterious and sad. I am excited for this reading blog.
Sphillips4 I agree that the blog is a good idea.
Im very excited for the blogs and this class!
@amills3 very good job. I think you explained it very well! great!
kchrisopulos3 awesome job your blog was amazing! Keep up the good work.
@apinkney3 your blog was amazing! You showed like you knew what you were doing and that was amazing
gmiller6 good job on your comment. you used very specific details about what the other person did and what they didn't do right
good job splitting up the good and not so good parts of the pose. nice details and very specific

My favorite part of reading class this year was when we got the chance to work together after reading ADNPWD and just any activity we had when we coud work together. My least favorite part of reading class was when we had to memorize Titania's speech. Honestly i love reading class so I don't think it needs to be improved.
I think jphan2 example is a bad comment because it has misspelled words and only three sentences. I do not know if ADNPWD is an activity or story that was read by the class.
River Merrifield
Bsammel5 in blog number 13 did a wonderful job of explaining which word would best describe the current situation. He did get a little too descriptive but thats fine. DMcKnight2 in blog number 13 didnt answer his question properly. His sentences were short and choppy, and i dont think he understood what was happening in his book. I am a little afraid to do blogs because I know I will forget to do a blog every once in a while.
tbolton 4 you did a great job on pointing out the other posts mistakes
JHerrera4 you did a nice job of supporting your reasons of why your examples are good and bad, you also gave plenty of details to support your answers.
A bad example of a comment is @lmiller2, they didn’t answer the question and they got off topic some. They talked about how cute the animal was instead of talking about the actual blog question. On the other hand, @jlclarke2 has a very good post, it answers the question beautifully and it stays on topic. @asdavis2 doesn’t do what the question asks, this blog wouldn’t be a good blog
WDalluge2 in blog #10 gave great FCAT tips about how to stay focused and do good on the FCAT.
Sfreer2 from blog #10 did not give enough sentences to explain why the tips would work. I am a little excited about the blogs I feel like it is an opportunity to be heard and share what you reading with others it's like book gossip.
cool and nice blog research jmobley
very descriptive blog Hlawson3
Blog Number 7 , @BCampbell5 would be a good example for a blog. They say what page they are on,and they even say the title of the book. They noted that the book was about Tim Tebow and his career, personal life, and even quotes. So,if I ever wanted to read a Tim Tebow book,I would pick their book, because it gives a lot of information. They did a great job on their blog.@fgoetz2 responce to @BCampbell5 could have been better. They could of said if they liked Tim Tebow or even said how the book seems interesting. They would be a not so decent responce I would write. I am looking foward to posting blogs and learning about others books.
@JHerrera4 good job on telling that the person did a great job on their blog and how they did a very good job on supporting their reasons.
Blog # 14 05/13/2013
Although, student’s response did not have the requirements the teachers had given. You could identify that the student’s favorite part of reading was group work and, that student’s least favorite was memorizing the Titania's speech. You couldn't identify if what ADNPWD meant. They misspelled a few words and had some punctuation errors. .So I think that he/she could have done better on it than they did.
blog #13 Some of the blogs have very good paragraphs about their book. It has great detail about the characters and their actions. There are also comments and blogs that fit Mrs. Thomas’s description of what it should include, and yet there are some that look like they clearly weren’t paying attention. The topics that I saw were on point like tdcole’s blog. Also the comments I’ve seen that were a good comment to put was by gparent5. What I am looking forward to this year with the blogs is having an easy way to do them and also seeing what the topics will be on.
cnechodom4: good job, I hope you are our future mayor!
gmiller6: nice work, but you didn’t put what blog # these people were responding to.
I think that jjones6 in blog #6 is a good example of a blog because he/she included the title and author of his book and what page he/she was on, had over 5 sentences, used correct punctuation and spelling, and commented on 2 other posts. I think that anorwood6 in blog #2 is a bad example of a blog because there was no punctuation in the entire post, there were a lot of typing errors, most of the capitalization was incorrect, and he/she did not comment on any other posts. I am both excited and nervous about the blog. I am excited because I will get to read about my classmates books, but I am nervous because my blogs could end up being really bad and everyone would see them.
@aperez4 Great job!
@tbolton4 I really like how detailed your post is.
pblangor5 on Blog #13
I think this is a great example of how to comment. Because he or she commented at the blog what he or she have to respond.
@Nluna6 Had an good blog because, they used aswome details. It helps you visualize the part in the story.@grefore6 had an bad blog because they didn't answer the question you asked.
