I’m reading spirit Animals, Wild Born by Brandon Mull. I’m on page number 25. IF I only had one word to describe my book it would be fascinating. I choose that word because it clearly is fascinate me. I got the hint of mystery with the amazing fantasy I would want to be in. It’s also very interesting how the story is has view of all four characters. In the first chapter it takes your breath away on the description on how they like in the future but there culture is like back then without machines. Also how chapters 2-5 are about the characters in the stories.

DeleteI am currently reading Download Drama, I am on page 247 which is the end of the book. The author of my book is Celeste O. Norfleet. One word i would use to describe my book is drama. Why because my book is mainly about drama, It even has drama in the title. Another reason why i pick drama is because in one part of the book the girl kenisha has a huge fight with a superstar, which kenisha dances for. Kenisha mom died, and she lives with her grandma. Kenisha, Jade (Kenisha sister), and Kenisha's grandma has to pay their moms hospital bill which Kenisha and Jade knew nothing about at first.

I am reading Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag by Oliver Bowden. I’m on page 222. If I had to choose one word it would be extreme because it has people raiding ships. Edward Kenway fights the British. Blackbeard helps Edward Kenway establish his authority. Edward Kenway is a pirate in the West Indes.

If I had to choose a word to describe my book I would choose sad because in the book Nhamos mama was trying to force her into marrying a cruel man. Another reason that I choose sad is because in the book Nhamos auntie died and it was very sad to the people of her village, everyone knew her all around Africa!
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is called Hoot by Carl Hiaasen and I'm currently on page 153. One word I would use to describe my book is interesting. I really like mysteries and books that give you bits of information one at a time until all of the information fits together like a puzzle and makes sense. The thing I especially love with these types of books is that "Ah-ha!" moment at the end and the understanding of why everyone did what they did or said what they said. That thrill I get from reading the type of book my book is, is why I say that Hoot is interesting. It draws in my attention as the book progresses.

ReplyDeleteI am currentyl reading " The paladin prophecy" by: Mark Frost. i am on page 213-549. If i were to choose one word about this book it would probably be boring. I mean, nothing was really THAT good up to pg. 100. After page 100 it started to get good but it wasn't really as actiony as i expected. In the book all it really is from 1-100 is like 'oh boy sees text, it says run.' 'He runs surprisingly fast but they are right on his tail.' The book doesn't really explain things as fast as it needs to. It will say something then it takes another 60 pages to finally figure out what it said.

I'm reading The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket and I am on pg.32. The one word I would use to describe my book would be SAD. So far nothing good has happened in my book. The book starts off with the children's parents dying and their huge expensive mansion burning down. Then since their parents died the children are all orphans. And after that they get adopted by a weird man. To top it off the house is very small, dirty, and old.

ReplyDeleteIf I had to describe my book in one word it would be historical. This book is in fact a historical fiction novel and it includes many historical locations and characters. In it Theodore Roosevelt is the chief of police and one of the main characters is an alienist, or to simplify, a psychologist for criminals. Another historical element that is found in the story would be found on page 13 where a young boy by the name of Stevie was smoking a cigarette. An unusual sight today but a common one years ago, just another thing that makes this book so rich in history.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am currently engaged in reading is The Alienist by Caleb Carr and I am on page 20. If I were to describe the book in one word it would be historical. The book is a historical fiction novel, it contains a few historical characters, such as Theodore Roosevelt who is the chief of police, and the alienist, or to simplify, a criminal psychologist. An other douse of history this book provides is a scene where a young boy by the name of Stevie smokes a cigarette to relieve stress. An odd sight now but an all but too common one then, just an other way this book is as historically informative as it is enjoyable to read.

I am reading “Theodore Boone: the accused” by John Grisham, and I am on page 40. If I had to choose one word that describes the essence of my book I would say intriguing. I chose intriguing because it has certain elements that makes it stand out among other mystery stories. There always something going on and there never a dull moment from the beginning of the adventurous thrill ride to the ending. You don’t normally see a kid your age so serious about what they do and so determined and focused. There’s always something that catches your attention and that’s what I like about this book. Theo keeps readers on the edge of their seats and always has readers coming back for more. @ tfoye6, make sure to have 5 sentences, and you did a good job! @ Bmcphadden5 good word choice! It really does have drama in the title ha.

I choose that word because everything in my book has to do with sports. Everybody in my book plays at least 2 or 3 sports. For instance Ben (the main character in my book), plays football and basketball.

I am reading “Code Name Verity” by Elizabeth Wein. I am currently on page 24. One word to describe my book would be “confusing”. Why? Because the time period of my book (1943) is very proper and they spoke different so it’s a little hard to understand what is happening in my book but I get the obvious things that the book is contributing. One other reason is because the vocabulary is a little complex but I can decipher what the word means just by re-reading the text.

I would choose that because throughout the book it is filled with a lot of fighting and chases. The book is about Percy Jackson being accused of stealing Zeus' lightning bolt. By that happening it is causing chaos throughout Mount Olympus.

I am currently reading Prisoner B-3087 and I’m on page 156 out of 256. If one word could describe my book it would be realistic. It is realistic because it is about the holocaust and a boy’s journey during it. It also gets to realistic sometime because people are getting shot left and right. It also is a true story that even makes more realistic and horrifying.

I am currently reading The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I am on page 30. If I could describe this book with one word I would describe it as suspenseful. This book is suspenseful because you never know what will happen next and it leaves you wanting to keep reading. This book is really good.

I am reading The Last Princess by Galaxy Craze and I am on page 168. If I had to describe my book in one word it would probably be harsh because it has a lot of killing in it. This man kills Eliza’s mom and dad and is torturing her brother and sister. Eliza manages to escape the raid in her castle and she is determined to kill that man. In order to do that, she goes to fight in his army under disguise to become a better fighter and find out where he is. She can’t take it anymore and try’s to escape his army and almost gets put in a death camp.

My book is called The Rivalry by John Feinstein and I am currently on page 153 in the book. If I had to pick one word to describe my book it would be mysterious. It is only a football book but I never know what is going to happen. I also read the last book in the series and there were so many different plot twists throughout the whole book. I can’t wait till the end because I just know something big is going to happen.

The title of my book is called Drama High:Holidaze. The book is by L. Divine, and Im on page 68.If I had to choose one word to decribe this book it would be dramatic. I chose this word because this book is about drama obviously, and people also die. They also make a big deal out of things. "Misty has made it her mission to sabotage Jay any way she can. She has the unique advantage of being an original hater from the neighborhood and at school." Its very messy at Jayd's school and I feel bad for her.

I'm currently reading Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare and on page 402 and the genre is mystery. One word I would use to describe this is decieptful. It is deceiptive because there is so far 7 plot twists on the main characters of the book. One deception is that the main character whose name is Tessa has a demon as a father. Another is that Tessa's mother is a demon hunter. One crucial twist is that her brother (Nate) isn't her brother, he is actually her cousin adopted by her mother. So techinaly he is a brother in law and a cousin, wierd. I also want to use the made up word mysticon which is the combined word of mystery and action. The main character fights and tries to find someone which is a very myster type subject. This book is part toof a three part series and is just the prequel of another series by the same author.

I was reading the scorch trial by James Dashner I finished it about a week ago. If I could choose one word to describe my novel it would be exciting. The book had me going the whole way through it was like a movie in my head. The Scorch Trails was even better than the prequel “The Maze Runner”. If I could forget what I read then re-read it I would.

ReplyDeleteI am currently reading “Fake Me a Match” by Lauren Barnholdt and I am on page 168. It I had to choose one word, it would be ‘honesty’ because Avery is not being honest. Avery is in a student council and she is charge on a project called ‘matchmaking project’. When she started to match people up, she had an idea to make matches however she wants to, mostly because of her stepsister. But after three days, Ms. Tosh called her and asked if she matched people however she wanted to. I did not read the rest of the book, but I hope Avery would be honest and tell the truth.

I read the book The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green and I finished it. If I had to describe this book with one word I would chose romantic. This book is romantic because it is about two cancer patients, Hazel and Augusts, who meet in a support group and end up falling in love. Hazel and Augustus have both had cancer and when one of them gets it again the other helps and never leaves their side. Another reason this book is romantic is because Hazel and Augusts have a friend with cancer, Isaac, and he has a girlfriend who broke up with him when she finds out he will go blind.

I choose this word because it’s basically what the book is about. People think Peeta is a traitor. And Katniss has the decision if she will become the Mockingjay and lead the rebellion. My book that I am reading is called Hunger Games Catching Fire, i am currently in page 200. If I had to choos one word to describe my book it would be "dynamic." This book is filled with many outstanding surprises and a lot of action. Along with the interesting back story of the Hunger Games. This is why i would choose dynamic to be the word to describe this book.

I picked scary because it has ghosts and is mysterious. It says in the first chapter that the building is also haunted and used to be an asylum for crazy kids. It was also used as a hospital and many kids died there.

ReplyDeleteI just started reading “The Lost Hero” by Rick Riordan, and I am on page #83. I believe that if I had to choose one word, then that word would have to be enterprise. The main reason to why it would be an enterprise is because how Jason, Piper and Leo all have to go on an extraordinary quest that may endanger their lives, but that’s something that happens on a daily basis to all half-bloods. The definition of an enterprise is, ‘a project undertaken or to be undertaken, especially one that is important or difficult or that requires boldness or energy’ and their quest is something of utmost importance and it is very difficult. Also it is their first day a camp Half-Blood and there are a lot of rumors going around because of Percy Jackson’s disappearance and Annabeth trying so hard to find him, most of the campers believe the arrivals of Jason, Piper and Leo may be a bad omen.

I am reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. I am on page 8 because I just stared. the one word I would choose to describe my book is creepy. It has a man who murdered this little boy's family and he escaped and hide in a graveyard. where there he could see the ghosts. he grew up in the graveyard with the ghost raising him as there own. The murdered has been looking for him for a long time. With the boy hiding in the graveyard it makes him invisible.

The book is sad because the mother is always gone and on dates. Emma also only has one friend Penelope, who is two years younger than her. ReplyDeleteI'm reading the book the "Witch and Wizard, The Gift" by James Patterson, Ned Rust and I'm on page 110. If I had to choose one word to describe my book it would be dramatic, because it draws my attention. Every time I finish a chapter the author ends it with a sentence making me want to read more. Also the main characters are being hunted down so it is very dramatic, how they survive and how they uses their "magic". One other thing is because it is a mix with fantasy and mystery that also add to the dramatic part.

I am currently reading the book "A Day In The Life" By Manley Frost (I'm on page 57). One word that will thoroughly explain my book is the word "Inspirational". This book is about him and how he is surviving in the army, how life is, and what its like. At the beginning of the book there are also several notes that are thanking him for sending a plentiful amount of letters home from Iraq to several families. This book is inspirational because it has a great example of a role model that everyone should look up to because he is a hero of this country fighting for our freedom. Also, he is friendly and helps other families, and is a great inspiration to others.

I am currently reading The boy at the end of the world it is written by Greg van Eekhout and I am on page 140. Now, if I could choose one word to describe this book it would be adventurous. I choose this because Fisher is possibly the last human alive and he must fend for himself, but he does have the company of a robot and a mammoth named protein. But when he reads old hand writing from inside a cave saying that is another place with humans. So they must journey across dangerous landscapes and fight off some dangerous robots to assure the survival of the human race.
ReplyDeleteI was reading the Maze Runner by James Dashner and have finished it. If I were to choose one word to describe it, I would choose the word disturbing. I chose disturbing because the book is about a large group of teen boys that were put into a giant maze with monsters that come out at night. These monsters are giant robotic slugs that can inject the boys with a poison that can kill them unless they get the antidote, and even if they do get the antidote, it causes excruciating pain and can make them go insane. The boys are also forced to survive with almost nothing and taunted with the hope of finding the exit to an insolvable maze. And then as if the monsters, survival, and the insolvable maze wasn't enough, the people that sent the boys there wiped all of their memories except their names, which they later find out isn't even their real name. Throughout my reading of the book, I have thought about how disturbing the book is, so I chose that word to describe it.

Elijah of Buxton by Christopher Paul Cuirtis. Free because it was the time slavery just ended. also Fredrick dougles was in it, and he was always making speeches about it. The people were doing way more stuff that they used to not be able to do.they have more fun know, and Elijah wasa the first born out of slavery so he had no problem.

When he finally reaches the place he starts to hear noises! and he once said he hears the sound of woman sobbing/ But finally he awakens to see a double of him, but he looks like he came from the grave!

This is because just about every other sentence has to to do with one of the characters insecurities or faults. Also A couple of characters die. I also hear the ending is depressing.

The reason I chose the word odd is that in my book the main character has an odd life. He spends his school year in in school suspension and is the school president. Also he eats nachos everyday for lunch, while he is in I.S.S. he is working on a case to get out of punishment.

ReplyDeleteI am reading Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz and I am on page 60. If I had to describe my book in one word, the word would be exciting. The reason why I chose this word is because there is always one exciting part after another. For example, on page 54 one of Alex's squad pushed him over a trip wire and got shocked from a stun grenade. After that Alex has to carry a 55 pound backpack on a course that gives him 12 hours to complete, for the veterans they get 8 hours. This book will continue the get more exciting.

I am reading “The Book of the dead the mummy” by Larry Mike Garmon and I am on page 75. If I had to choose one word to describe this book it would be mysterious. I would choose mysterious because of all the questions and mysteries that happen in this book. The main characters need to find out why the mummy has appeared and how to get rid of it. So far in the book the mummy has appeared a couple times and he brought a friend with him the last time he appeared.

ReplyDeleteI am currently reading the book "Slated" by Teri Terry, and I am on page 63. If I had describe this book in just one word, I would describe it as page-turner. I chose this word because the book is very suspenseful and it makes you want to keep reading. The book contains a lot of drastic elements that make the story more interesting. Every ending of a chapter leaves something that makes you want to continue reading. For those reasons, I am really enjoying the books so far.

I am reading Flipped by Wendalin Van Draanen, I am currently on page 170. If i could describe my book in one word it would be different. I chose the word different because the book tells both perspectives of the story. Each perspective is different the boy thinks the girl is annoying and clingy. Then the girl thinks the the boy is in love with her. Both sides are very different but they don't realize that.

I am currently reading bad girls don't die by Katie Alender. I am on page 117. I would say its interesting, in the book Alexis the main character is different and is really anti social but that's only half of her. she also is not shy or anti social about some things. The book is about a girl who changes completely. She starts to change over time as different things happen. The book doesn't leave you hanging, it always explains things. the book has gotten into lots of detail and is really starting to show the girl changing.

If I had to choose one word to describe my book I would choose "weird" because this family is really weird.In this book the main character "Matilda" is 4 years old but she knows how to read also she goes the library her self and reads a book.Her Dad does not want to buy her a book he does not like his daughter to read! He likes his daughter to watch TV and her Mom has no interest to Matilda. If her Dad was normal Dad he should be happy that his daughter is reading a book and if she want's a book he could buy it for her if he has money and her Mom should be helping her and have interest to her.

I am reading "Hide and seek" by Katy Grant and im on page 43. I would describe my book as rough (in a good way). its bumpy around the edges, one point its calm the next point its not. When the main character Chase rides his bike in the mountains of Arizona, he's happy and its daylight. Next the you know is that its getting dark and you have to be home by 6:00 and things bump into him on the way back home. So far its a good book.

ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Shadow of the Hegemon by Orson Scott Card and I'm on page 233.The word I would use to describe this book would be interesting because of a few reasons. The first reason is because it's a book about what happened after the war and I like that because not many book authors are creative enough to write about what happens after the main event or in this case the "war". The last reason it is the word I described it as, is because it brings in another big event which is actually another war. I think it is interesting because it is scientific fiction which is my second favorite type of book because of lines like "Ender get in the teleportation pod"pg215.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am currently reading now is “Theodore Boone; The Abduction” by John Grisham. I’m on page 49 of 217. One word I would use to describe this book is mysterious. The book is mysterious because a young girl was either taken or ran away from home to go meet a pen pal who just got out of prison. Why would she do that? Was she taken or did she leave on her own? The book is mysterious because there are a lot of un answered questions.

ReplyDeleteI am reading The last apprentice Night of the soul stealer and I am on page 7. If I had to pick one word to describe my book it would be dark. The reason I would pick this is because in this book series there is always a dark creature that is very difficult to face, let alone kill. Thomas and the spook go yo various different dark places like the catacombs.Also the atmosphere is dark like on page 4, "It was dark, and my lantern cast disturbing shadows".That's why I would choose the word dark to describe this book.

The stor I'm reading is called Milkweed by Jerri Senelli and I and currently on page 45. So far this book s really good and interesting and I like it a lot. If I had to describe this book in one word that one word would be Crazy. The reason I choose this word is because so many things are happening to this boy, and it must be bad concidering the fact that it is in the time period of the Holocaust . Overall this is a really good and exciting book and I look forward the reading on.

ReplyDeleteI am currently reading The Blue Girl by Charles de Lint. I am on page 169. If I had to use one word to describe my book, it would be interesting. I say this because the book has a unique plot which can keep the reader interested, but it I can't really find any other words that can describe the book as a whole. In some parts of the book, it can be morbid and depressing, such as when Adrian fell from a four story building because the fairies dropped him. He ended up dying with a gross description of how his bones were crushed and his blood was everywhere. However, in other parts of the book, it can be quite joyful or calm. For example, when Imogene and Maxine first met and became friends. Because of the different moods the book has, I think the best word to describe it is interesting.

The reason i chose this word is because the main character goes through hard times when he acidently kills his uncle. The whole situation made him feel responsible for what he did. It also turned his dad against him.

ReplyDeleteI am reading "The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer" by Michelle Hodkin and I am on page 85. If I had to choose one word to describe this book I would choose suspenseful. The book is always ending chapters with cliff hangers and leaving confusing little clues here and there. The book starts out with Mara waking up in the hospital, she has lost all memory of the night before. Her parents then tell her she broke in to an abandon house and it collapsed on her and her friends. She was the only one to survive.

ReplyDeleteThe book I'm reading is the gathering blue and I'm on page 21. If I had to choose one word it would be struggle. I choose this word because kira's mom is dead and she's all alone. Another reason I chose this word was because kira was born with a twisted leg. So its hard for her to find a job since no one wants her. Lastly I pick the word struggle is because since kira's mother died. The cott that Kira and her mother shared had been burned. This was always done after sicknees. So its going to be hard for Kira to build a house buy herself.

Im reading Hoot by Carl Hiaasen im on page 160. If i had to use one word to dicribe this book I would use caring. It would use caring because they are going threw all this struggle to help the owls out and to keep their environment. They even vadalized a cop car and a persons property to keep the owls safe. The owner of the property wants to build a waffle house sort of thing an the owls live there and so the kids want to help the owls out and keep them safe.

I think this book is relatable because it is realistic fiction, so it has real life scenarios. Another reason I think this book is relatable is because the main character has a lot of ideas and thoughts that I have. It really makes me think and I like that.

There is a lot of drama that goes on between the characters especially John and his father because his father never really loved or took care of John or his sibling as a child, and John got mad about that.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading Taken by Edward Bloor and I'm on page 83. If I had to choose one word to describe my book so far I'd use the word 'focused'. I would use the word focused to describe my book because the main character Charity has to stay focused at all times to survive. Charity has to focus on all of her memories to keep her calm and collected while knowing she's in a time of danger.Charity also uses her focus to remember her training on what to do when kidnapped and analyze her surroundings and think about what moves to make.

ReplyDeleteI am currently reading The Dead And Buried by Kim Harrington and I am on page 91. If I could choose one word to describe this book, I would choose…mysterious. My book has a dead girl in a beautiful mansion that's been haunting my main character. The dead girl's name is Kayla Sloane and she fell down the stairs—or was pushed. Now my main character, Jade, has to find out if she fell or was pushed and who pushed her.

If I could choose one word to describe it the word would be unpredictable becuase there are so many unexpected things.One example is cole not going to jail after smashing petter Driscals skull in the side walk sstated on page 4. Also Cole's father beat him page 55. This is an awesome book.

I would use crazy because I have never read a book like this. I have never heard of someone getting paid to break up with people. That sounds kind of harsh to me. Thomas is the main character trapped in the middle of a terrifying maze. It's pretty scary because people can get stung by grievers and it sort of creeps me out a little.

Hi am reading Holes By Louis Sachar and I am on page 79.If I had to Describe my book into one word I would say RUFF!!! I say this because well Stanly has so many things happen to him that are RUFF. He gets convicted of stealing, he has to go to a horrible camp he has to dig holes for the day every day.there is nothing fun to do at the camp,but i know its meant to brake your back bone in and make you into a young respectable young man.

I would use at word because this book is mainly about witches and wizards and powers. The main characters are brother and sister, and their wizards and a witch, but the people wanna kill them, their considered criminals, and evil. Also there's just mystical things happening all through the book.

On he first page it states that " St. Andrew's Prep fencing tournament, I'm trapped in a locker-room toilet stall." I picked this quote because it states that she does fencing with her everyday school work, " With a dead body." So not only is she fencing, but she is also fighting zombies. Being active is getting around doing things, and that's what she is doing. She is defeating zombies and taking fencing lessons, while doing school work.

I'm reading slob by Ellen potter and I'm on page 26. If I had to choose one word for my book it would be smart. I pick the word smart because Owen Birnbaum (the main character) is the smartest in the the whole school. All of Owen's decisions are also smart like how he studied Mr. Wooly and what he was doing to make all of the un athletic people fall or how he memorized the whole periodic table. So I think smart would describe my book perfectly.

For instance on page 52 the main character went on the stance to tell her side of the story but she started to describe her mother as the victim.
