Think about your current book and decide what your Author's Purpose is for writing (entertain, inform, persuade, explain). With your Author's purpose in mind, what is your Author's Point-of-view on a topic in your book? If you get stuck think about the video clips we watched in class last week. Remember to include Book title, author, and current page number. Your response must be 5 sentences and do not forget to comment at least twice on other posts.
I'm almost done with the Alex Rider sieries and now I'm on the last book and it's called Snake Head. Now Alex has to face Scorpia again, but this time he has help from his godfather who is the head of an organization called Nake Head, who is there to take down Scorpia(read from the back of the book).
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is my book.It's by J.K. Rowling and I'm on page 121. The author's purpose for writing this book is to entertain. Her point of view on Lord Voldemort is negative. She thinks he is a bad person,and so do I, and she thinks that he doesn't deserve to live in this world. Lord Voldemort, in her opinion, is an evil powerful man, she doesn't, not even once, refer to him in a good way.

M y authors point of view is to Lemonade stands is to have a competition with his/her brother. I think so because they have a fight with their sibling then end up having a competition on who has the most money at the end of summer vacation.

I think the author has a very strong point of view. i think he feels that you should fight for what you want and you should search for answers. he does this by making the main character Akira search for what made her brother get into a coma in "The World".

I just currently finished reading my book. It is called I Know It's Over by C.K Kelly Martin. The author's purpose was to inform and explain. I believe this because in the story the main character Nick gets his ex-girlfriend Sasha pregnant and they are only 16 years old. So in the book she has an abortion and they are describing how this should have never happened and that an abortion was the only way they could go about this problem, but they didn't wanna be those people who kill children because they are a problem. The author's point-of-view is that teenage pregnancy is not a smart choice and that if it does occur then there are multiple ways to deal with them, while still being under stress.

Also I think that the author's point-of-view on Harry is positive. She believes in him and she knows that Harry will get through everything thats happening to him if he believes he can.

The Author's purpose of writing this book is to entertain because it grabs the readers attention and makes the book fun to read. The Authour's point-of-view is that if you set your heart on something you can accomplish it if you work hard and push yourself as Sherry does to be with her mom and help her figure out the mystery.

My book is Perfect by Natasha Friend. I finished my book two days ago, and it was a good read. The author's purpose for writing this book is to entertain you the reader with a realistic story about a young girl who has issues with her body. The author's point of view is that we can overcome challenges we are faced with no matter what. In the book the authors view on Isabelle's forcing herself to throw up, is very concerned. She puts the view point from Isabelle to show how it was like to think and feel like an eighth grade girl with problems.

I think the authors purpose in my book would have to be inform because it gives you information about the life of Tiger Woods and how he grew up and where he grew up and when he was born ect. I think the point of view for my author would have to be he just wants to tell you a great story about a great person who made a difference in the game of golf. Another point i think the author was trying to make was that even though bad things happen yu should stand up to them and elieve in yourself.

I am reading the meaning of life according to Jeremy Fink. I's say the author's purpose is probably to entertain. Because he isn't trying to explain or persuade you and certainly not trying to inform you. I am on page 84, and its had a lot of weird twists and turns, but its a pretty good book. Its kind of suspicious just because you don't know the entire plot. Its being given to you in smaller portions as you read the book.

This book is telling how the hollocaust was seen through the eyes of a teenage boy. I also think the purpose may be to entertain, even though it's telling about history it's also a story. This book is sad and depresing but it is well written.

My book is Watership Down by Richard Adams. I am currently on page 116. The author's purpose in my book is to entertain. He shows this by telling a story of rabbits who leave their home to find a new one. One of point of view of the author is that you need a good leader to guide you to your goal and you need to work as a team. This is shown because the rabbits would have given up numerous times, but with Hazel in charge, he reminded them that they needed to work together and he kept telling them he would make sure everyone survived.

I'm still reading Ruined by Paula Morris. I’m on page 155. I think the author’s purpose for writing this book is to entertain. It’s entertaining because it’s mainly a race against time to find out what "they" (the name of the popular people in the book) are doing in the cemetery at night. I think the authors point of view and trust yourself because all Rebecca does is trust herself, like when she was running and had to jump over a wall to get away from the police she told her that everything would be okay and that she believed she could do it and she made it without a scratch.

I believe this because in the book the main characters Kyle and Bee Bee are at their hotel alone and a Tsunami strikes when this happens the story becomes very suspenseful they also get stuck in a fire and much more but it is also to inform because they are warning you and preparing you how to do thing in life you might need later. My book teaches a lot of life lessons and I recommend it to anyone who wants to read it because you most likely will love it!

My book is called "This Lullaby." It is by Sarah Dessen and I'm done with the book! This book was really good! I think the author's purpose in writing the book is to entertain and inform readers about some teenager's life! This book is about a high school teenager with boy and family problems. Her mom is on her 4th marriage, and her brother is dating some girl that Remy, main character, does not like. Remy's dad left the family alone since Remy was born. Remy meets a guy and she thinks he is not worth it. But he thinks they are meant to be. Read the book and find out if Remy and Dexter, the boy, are meant to be or not meant to be.

I just finished the LastSong by Nicholas Sparks. I think that this book was to inform you. This book taught alot of lessons trought the book and it was to inform you that love is very inpotant and you cant take it for granted. Life isnt something to play around with. These are the two main points this book brings out to inform us about it. The book entertains to. It finds ways to put humor into the book but then it knows how to inform aswell.

The author's point-of-view is Someone can only change if they change in their heart. The main character is Cindy is going through a heard time with her mother. Her mother has a boyfriend who emotionally abuse Cindy when her mom isn't paying attention. Now Cindy is dating a boy who physically abused her bestfriend Jamee and Cindy thinks he really change, when he's back to his old ways. He's just putting on a big front.

The book i am currently is ripleys believe it or not and the athor is riply publishing and iam on page 201.The authors perpose is to entertain/inform because the author wrote this book to inform you about the book in a histarical point of view.The book has two authors purposes because the author wanted the readers attention by mixing histaricl infomational all into one passage.

I haven't picked out my book yet. I am thinking about picking out another Bluford High book because I am really enjoying the stories as I read them. The Bluford High series really tell a story that can happen in real life and I love realistic fiction books that I can relate to.
