Blog #3 Due: Monday 2/22/16

For this post, I want you to write a journal entry like you are the main character in your book (if your book had more than one main character, just choose one of them to do this post). Your journal entry should show me your character's personality through your writing and should discuss the main conflict from their point of view. 
At the beginning of your post, put the name of your book, the author, the page number you are on, and the name of the character you are going to be writing as. After you write this information, you should write the rest of the post like you are that character. Make sure your journal entry is at least 5 sentences.

Remember to comment on two classmates posts.

Think of the reading you have done this week.
What would you say is "the most important word" based on what you read?

Write the sentence that the word appears in, include the page number, and then explain why you chose that word.

Think about your friends and the kind of books they would read. Which of your friends or classmates should read your current independent reading book?

Think about the book you are reading independently. Tell us the title, author, and current page number you are on. What are you loving or not loving about your book so far? Also, tell us what mini project you are going to choose to do for this book from the new Mini-Project choices, page 20, in your binder. To receive full credit your response must be at least 5 sentences long and you must comment on 2 other responses.

Post your book's title, author, and page #. If you had to take the place of one character in your book, who would you take the place of? Explain why you would take that person's place. Remember to be thoughtful in your responses and make sure it is at least 5 sentences. Also, make 2 comments about your classmates posts.

Blog #10 Due: Tuesday 11/17/15

Post the title/author/page # you are on of your book. If you had to choose ONE word to describe your book, what word would you choose? Be specific as to why you chose this word. Remember to always include specific details from your book. Make sure your response is at least 5 sentences. Remember to make 2 comments on other student's posts.

Blog #9 Due: Monday 11/9/15

First Blog of the 2nd 9-weeks!
Post your book title, author, and current page number. Briefly tell us about your main character. Next, if your character were on a social media website such as Facebook, tell us 3 things your character might "like." Remember: Likes can be interests, hobbies, organizations, movies, etc. etc. Briefly explain why your character would like each. Make sure your response is at least 5-7 sentences and make sure you respond to at least 2 classmates posts.

For this blog you are going to work on Comparing and Contrasting different text. I want you to use the book you are currently reading and the last book you read to find 2 comparisons and 2 contrasts(differences). List the title, author, and current page number of the book you are currently reading. Also, list the book that you are using to compare and contrast your current book with.


Remember your response must be at least 5 sentences and you must comment twice on classmates posts to get full credit.

Choose a character in your book. Briefly tell who the character is.
If your character could travel anywhere in the world, where do you think your character would travel? Be specific and explain why you choose that place. Be insightful, thoughtful and creative. Response must be at least 5 sentences!

Tell us one SPECIFIC thing you really like about your book and why. Then tell us one SPECIFIC thing you really DON'T like about your book and why. Remember that your comments should always be at least 5-7 detailed, insightful, sentences and include support from your book.

Blog #5 Due: Monday 10/5/15

This week I want to know about the main character in your book. 

What is he or she like? Describe his/her personality. How does the author Characterize them? Give one example of the STEAL that we learned in class and tell us what Character traits are present in your character. Are they stubborn, snobby, compassionate, positive, etc.

Make sure to give me an example from the book to support your description. Don't forget to include the title of the book, author, and what page you are currently on. Make sure your post is at least 5 sentences. Remember to also respond to 2 other classmates!

Blog #4 Due: Monday 9/28/15

Remember to post your book's title, author, and page #. Choose two characters from your book and very briefly tell us who they are. Then tell us what actors/actresses you would want to play the parts of the characters in your book if it were to be turned into a movie (you must choose famous people to play the roles). Include an explanation of why you chose each actor/actress.
If your book has already been turned into a movie please choose new actors/actresses to play the roles of your characters. Ex. If you are reading Twilight do not tell me Taylor Lautner should play Jacob.

Discuss a connection that you have discovered between your current book and your life.

Be sure to remind us of the book you are reading, the author, and what page you are currently on. Your response must be at least 5 sentences.  Remember to then respond to a least two classmate's posts.
