Blog #8 Due: Monday 5/2/16

Post the title of the book you're reading, its author, and the current page you are on.

Almost all fiction authors have to do some kind of research before they write their novels. For example, JK Rowling might have researched historical sites in London and different creatures from mythology. Suzanne Collins, author of The Hunger Games series, might have researched different types of weapons or survival skills. The author of Twilight researched Native-American traditional stories.

Tell me something that you think your author researched before he or she wrote your novel. Explain your reasoning (how it relates to your novel). Your response must be at least 5 sentences. Remember to comment on 2 classmates.

Blog #7 Due: Monday 4/25/16

We just learned about abstract nouns and how they help you determine the theme of a text.
For this week's blog entry, tell us one of the themes of your independent reading book.
If you need help, look at your theme notes in your binder (page 26). You can also ask yourself "What did I (or the character) learn?"
Do not forget to comment on 2 classmates posts. Make sure to include the title of your book, the author, and what page you are currently on. Your response should be at least 5 sentences.
