The book I am currently reading is Until We Meet Again by Anne Schraff and i am currently on page 1. One of my favorite quotes is when Darcy's mom says "Girls, sit down. Your father and I have something important to tell you." I like that quote because it is her mom about to go off on them. I can picture in my head the moms facial expression so thats why i like that phrase so much.
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Scat by Carl Hiaasen and I'm on page 140. One favorite quote was "Time seemed to stop dead." This was one of my favorite quotes because it reminds me of when I'm about to get caught in a game of hide-and-seek. For example, if I'm hiding underneath something and they're on top of it, my heart seems to stop (I was young by the way.) That's when "Time seems to stop dead."

The book I am currently reading is the Fault in Our Stars by John Green and I am on page 143. My favorite quote is by Augustus Waters. I like the quote "You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don't give it the power to do its killing." I think this was a good quote because you can let the thing try to kill you, but the only person that lets it kill you is yourself. Augustus said this quote comparing it too putting a cigarette in his mouth, but not lighting it. I thought this was inspirational because I'm kind of going through the same situation. My friend turned out not to be my friend and she's trying to find ways to get revenge or something like that. But if I don't let her get to me, I just put the cigarette in my mouth but didn't light it.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am currently reading is “Hollow City” by Ransom Riggs and I am on page 108. One of my favorite lines is on page 106 when Emma says, “sometimes I can’t decide whether you’re completely mad or some sort of miracle.” I enjoy this quote because it shows the reader how Emma feels towards Jacob the main character. This quote is also funny and eases the tense mood that the author has been building on throughout the whole chapter. Another quote I like is on page 107 when Jacob states, “I wondered if this strange, sweet pain was love.” I like this because people often compare love to a sweet sensation. However, this author compares love to a strange but sweet pain. This quote is a unique and interesting twist on the way love is often compared to things.

The book I am reading is secret in the shadow by Anne Scraff and I am on page 204. One of my favorite lines of the text is when Roylin’s mother said “you will never amount to nothin’ in life, you going to be just like your father, a no good, sorry individual!” the reason I like this line in the story is because it triggered an emotion inside of Roylin’s mind so he can build up enough anger and be great at what he does. I also like when Roylin was having a conversation with a girl he likes and he told her “I am way different than boys you’ve encountered in life, don’t compare me to em’ neither I am Roylin Sharp, I aint’ no thug and I don’t know why I am in that category because I’m not one so I wont let you nor any of your friends tell me what I am and not”. The reason why I like this line is because he finally realized that he’s one of a kind and he can be himself.

i am currently reading "Fault in Our Stars" by John Green and I'm on page 216. One of my favorite quotes they use from the book is a quote said by Augustus."The negative image of things blown together and then blown apart". Gus was talking about the shadow of branches and then said that line. He was basically saying that things that look scary or "negative" can also look good or beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading the book Paper Towns by John Green and I am on page 123. One of my favorite quotes is on page 57 and it says, "Here's a tip: you're cute when you're confident." This is said by Margo to Quentin and it's just one of those quotes that makes you fluttery on the inside. The other quote is another one I like, although it's a bit random. One of Quentin's friends yells in the school hallway, "IT IS NOT MY FAULT MY PARENTS OWN THE WORLD'S LARGEST COLLECTION OF BLACK SANTAS." (Literally written in the book this way.) He's a bit embarrassed because, well, exactly what the quote says.

ReplyDeleteI am reading “Dead is a Battle Field’’. The Author is Marlene Perez. I am currently on page 5. My favorite quote is “I took a deep breath before I pushed open the door of slims diner”. The reason why I like this quote is because I am hungry. The other reason is who don’t like food around here? Who wouldn’t be excited to walk in a room to the smell of freshly cooked food? Just that one sentence caught my attention. Jessica says that it smelled like fresh burgers who don’t like burgers c’mon now. That one sentence I just liked because you can also go hangout and meet with friends.

"Why, is your head missing some?" I croaked. His mouth almost quirked in a smile, and that's when I knew how upset he'd been. This one is one of my favorites because it is humorous and makes the book a little funny. Another quote includes "Popcorn for breakfast! Why not? It's a grain. It's like, like, grits, but with high self-esteem." This is another favorite because I like food and this quote makes me hungry.

I like this quote because it almost right in the middle of a mini climax. Edward, the vampire, just decided to leave Bella. That quote was Bella talking.

I am currently reading “Chomp” by Carl Hiaasen and am on page 156. One quote I like from this book is “Mickey Cray had been out of work ever since a dead iguana fell from a palm tree and hit him on his head.” This is one of my favorite quotes because it is the first sentence of the book and it already tells you so much. Mickey Cray got hurt when it was winter and an iguana was frozen and fell on his head. Mickey was unable to work due to the pain, you get all of that from one sentence.

Ia m currently reading a book called "Chupacabra" by Roland Smith, i am on page 75. One of my favorite quotes in the book is back on page 35, when Butch muttered "Maybe we should go to the lunchroom and chill for a couple of hours instead." I like that quote because i'm a chill kind of dude (sometimes). And he sounds like a person i would be friends with a person that just likes to chill, lean back and ignore any outside distractions. And a person who doesn't care about what the others are talking about.

I'm currently reading "Elephant Run" by Roland Smith and I,m on page 222. One of my favorite quotes is when Jackson says "In the end, the only thing that really matters is family". The reason I like this quote is because family means everything to me. Because I grew up really close with my family. Another quote I liked is "It was a foregone conclusion, at least in Nick's mind, that he would one day return to Burma and eventually take over the family forestry business". I like this quote because I know that he can find a way to get back to Burma and take over the family forestry business.

The book I am currently reading is Hero by Mike Lupica, and I am page 278. My favorite quote is "Every kid secretly wants to be a superhero. Well, be carefulwhat you wish for- you might just get it." I also really like the quote from page 269 "The odds were getting worse by the minuet." Those were my two favorite quotes because it was his beggining.

ReplyDeleteI am reading the Blind side, on page 27 chapter 3, the author is Michael Lewis. One of my favorite quotes so far is"If I hit the guy right, I'll hit a nerve and he'll feel electrocuted, he'll forget for a few seconds that he is on the football field". I like this quote because in my eyes Taylor is boasting about how good of a quarterback he is. He has enough pride to keep hitting people so hard he knocks them out. Taylor is so proud that he is proud in what he does to score the goal. It inspires me to do better and be proud of what I do in life.
ReplyDeleteThe book i am reading is Dicey's Song by Cynthia Voigt and i am on pg 58.One quote that i like from that book is "You never knew where a road would end, you just knew that roads ended." I like that quote because it tells a theme, like an inspirational theme, like keep going until the end. Also its like something unexpected like you never know where the road ends, but you already know there's an end. That's my favorite quote of the book, i think its inspirational and a good quote.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am currently reading is Ungifted by Gordon Korman, and I am on page 187. One of my favorite lines from this story is “for all the eight hundred million videos on YouTube, you had to figure there was at least another eight hundred million not filmed.” I like this like because Noah, the guy who said it had recently become obsessed with YouTube in the book. Noah is a smart kid and usually never does anything fun but then he found YouTube. Another reason I like this quote is because I myself have thought of this. I have moments all the time that I wish I could have gotten on video.

I am reading Ranger's Apprentice the Battle for Skandia by John Flanagan and I am currently on page 197. My favorite line from he book is "In Horace's world, that was what Rangers did best, and the best thing a warrior apprentice could do was let the Ranger get on with thinking while the warrior took care of walloping anyone who needed to be walloped along the way." I like this quote because its so funny! Let someone else do the thinking and just beat people up along the way. Its one of the funniest lines in the book. Wallop who needs to be walloped and just move on. Its also really funny because the way John Flanagan phrases it makes it seem really funny. Basically this line is all about making the reader laugh.
ReplyDeleteI am reasding "Life im motion" by Misty Copleland, and I'm on page 66. My favorite line from this book is "Not everyone wants to push themselves to that brink of breaking,but it's what you commit to when you're a professional-the very present reality that you may break instead of bend." That's my favorite line because out can be interpreted in so many ways, and it even ties in with the meaning of her book. She's s dancer and usually ballerinas are very diverse and flexible, so they can easily bend and conture into many different shapes within her body, so by her saying that many people don't push themselves to bending until they break she's also reffering to herself and other dancers. That line is one of the many things that really grabbed my attention from when I started reading the book.

I was reading, "Daniel X" by: James Patterson, I am finished with my book. One of my favorite quotes is, "These people are... My people!" As soon as I heard that a huge bomb went off my head. Also as I read it I was like "Woah, plot twist." It was so crazy to know that there were more of the type of people Daniel was.

I just finished reading the book “Alfred Kropp The Thirteenth Skull”. One of my favorite quotes from the poem is when Alfred is trying to figure out what someone’s last name is, and he repeatedly says it in his mind what he believes it is. Alfred says “Gar-Ger, Gera-gar, Gra-mot, Gram-ot, Gra-gri-mot-mot-ger-grot, gram-to, mar-go, mar-gor, mar-got, mog-art… Mogart!”. This line is really entertaining to me because I can relate to his thought process. Overall, the line is really funny and it’s very relatable.

ReplyDeleteI am reading Chosen ones by Tiffany Truitt and I am on page 261. There are many lines and/or quotes from this book that I like, but these are some of my favorites. On page 162, it says, “The council will one day make this boy hate your sister. One day she will hate him in return.” This quote shows how the council lied to the people when they said that the chosen ones were made to help the people. The truth is that they were made to hate the people and one day wipe them out completely.

My book is "Enclave" by Ann Aguirre and I am on page 259. My first favorite quote would be the pay where Fade told Stalker "Get away from her," (241) because Duece passed out and it showed he still cared for her even though he was depressed. I also liked when Duece first got named because she said "I wrote when he put the hot metal on my skin." Because it showed even though she was tough, she had a soft side to her. I also loved when Regan showed she was getting tougher by stating "That's why I'll be watching that girl."

ReplyDeleteI am currently reading The Underdogs by Mike Lupica and I am on page 139. One of my favorite quotes is when Hannah says "If you're gonna hit me, do it like you mean it." I like this quote because she's telling Will that she wants to be treated like the other boys on the team. Hannah wants them to not just think of her as the weak link since she's a girl. I love how she stands up for herself because girls can do everything that boys can do. This is not only an issue in the book, but it occurs in real life as well. Many girls are rejected from certain activities involving sports because people refuse to believe that they are capable of doing it.

ReplyDeleteI am reading Confederate spy stories by John Bakeless and I am on page page 126. my favorite quote so far is: "nothing is more important to a commander than the facts concerning the strengths, weaknesses, dispositions, and intentions of his opponent." It's a Dwight D. Eisenhower quote, and it accurately sums up the reason for spying. I like quotes like this that don't try to be inspirational or deep, but instead give the facts in a blunt and straight forward manner.

I am currently reading "My father had a daughter" by Grace Tiffany, i am on page 117. My favorite quote is " let her be, her anger is not for her." I like this quote because Judith ( main character) is always mad because she wants to be in her fathers play, (William Shakepear), but her mother does not approve the plays of her dad. I like it because ahe never gives up, her mother always is pushing her around and the only thing she wants is to be on a play. This is kind of a biografic book because is talking about William shakepear and her daughter and the rest of his family.

I'm currently reading The Maze Runner by James Dasher, and I'm currently on page 90. One of my favorite quotes Frypan says:"Why punish a guy for saving someone’s life?” I like it because it shows how all the Runners who are stuck in the Maze protect each other and care about one another, and it's logically why would someone get punish for saving someone.

ReplyDeleteI am reading Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson and I am on page 104. My favorite quote so far is when one of the main characters says “Sometimes, I worry that I’m not the hero everyone thinks I am. The philosophers assure me that this is the time, that the signs have been met. But I still wonder if they have the wrong man… They say I will hold the future of the entire world in my arms. What would they think if they knew that their champion – the Hero of Ages, their savior – doubted himself? … Maybe, in their hearts, they wonder – just as I do. When they see me, do they see a liar?” Though this quote is long, I really love it, so I chose it. It was the opening to the entire book, and you already learn so much about the character and the world he lives in. You learn that the world has some extreme problem because they need a savior; you learn that the character is supposed to be the savior, and you learn that he doubts himself. I also like that the first thing you learn about is the fact that he is only human, though later on in the book he doesn’t always seem like it.

I am currently reading the book called D is for Drama and I am on page 219. My favorite line of this book is, “Thank you so much for giving us a chance.” It is because this quote tells the reader that Ms. Elliott finally gave the drama team the permission to perform their piece in the concert. Before, Ms. Elliott only made one team to perform because it was an important concert. However, Sunny really wanted to show people that talent is not the only factor that determines whether or not you can perform. By reading this quote, I finally recognized that Sunny completed her mission to make Ms. Elliott trust their team, too.

I am reading "the Miserable Mill" by Lemony Snicket, and am currently done with the book. one of my favorite quotes from this book would be "The word "dreadful," even when used three times in a row, did not seem like a dreadful enough word to describe everything that had happened." I like this quote because it is 100 percent true when it comes to the lives of these children. another quote would be "Sunny did not eat the wood, of course, but she chewed on it", I like this quote because it is unbelievable the things that this child puts in her mouth.

I'm reading City of Ember by Jeane DuProu, on page 133. My favorite qoute would be "'Slooshns!' he bellowed. 'Arbingfoun'". I like that it adds a little comic relief to an otherwise serious book. It also makes the mayor who's not very well liked look like a sort of fool.

I found this interesting because not all cooks tend to be rounded. My dad use to be a cook and he is skinny rather than being round. Also when I read this I started to think about if I've met any round cooks.

I shall nurse you through this morning into the day and through the night. A spark can become a flame, a flame a fire." I like this quote because it shows the mothers dedication to raise this pup.

I am currently reading "The Alchemyst" by Michael Scott and I'm on page 343. One of my favorite quotes from the book is "This is my world too." I like this quote because it shows equality among others. Another reason I like that quote is because it shows no one man can hold power. Another quote I like from the book is "It takes a lot to kill one of the Elder race." I like this quote because it shows experience is over the younger. Just because you are new does not mean you are better. The quotes in my book are generally more wise and I like wise quotes.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am currently reading is “All Fall Down” by Ally Carter, and I am on page 221. A line from my book is “ There is laughter on the street behind me. A woman is holding an umbrella in one hand and a little girls arm with the other. Together they are running through the rain.” This to me is just sweet and nice. It is about a mother and daughter just having fun together in the rain. A mother daughter relationship like that is what I grew up with. I wish that more people had the experience.

I am reading Into The Killing Seas by Micheal Spradlin and I am on page 50. My favorite line in the book is "The doctor tells me the relentless sun, reflecting off the ocean, might have permanently damaged my vision." The reason why that is my favorite line is because we know what that is like from pools or at the beach. You can almost feel the pain yourself because you know what it is like. Just imagine being in the middle of the ocean with the sun blazing down on you and reflecting off the water.

ReplyDeleteCurrently I am reading Divergent by Veronica Roth and I am on page number 471. One of my favorite lines in the book is ‘I’m not in the simulation this time’ because it’s when Tris has to face one of her fears and if she were to fail, it would result in her death, though she most likely would have died if her mother had not broken the tanks glass and saved her from drowning. After the part when Tris is freed from her glass deathtrap she and her mother have to fight their way to her father and Caleb the next two lines appear ‘I whip my head over my shoulder when I hear them fire back. My feet falter and stop’ I have kinda mixed feelings about these lines because I mean, yeah her mom is now going to die, yet it’s a key part in developing her character. Most of the time when a main character loses a loved one or something of the like, they fight for their cause with a ferocity that cannot possibly be contained.

I am reading The Raft by S.A.Bodeen and I am on page 78. My quote of this book is,"Yes,just...can you tell me something worse?." It is because Robie seemed like me when I was getting my ear pierced. Robie was trying to get her ear pierced and she got scared. That was what I felt when I got my ear pierced, it was scary and I wanted to listen to a funny story. This quote made me empathizes how she felt.

I am currently reading Insurgent by Veronica Roth, and I am on page 135. One of my favorite quotes from the book is on page 125 when Tobias says “I told you things….” He shakes his head. “I would never have told anyone else.” I really enjoy this quote because it shows the reader how much Tobias trusts Tris. And Tobias thinks there is something Tris isn’t telling him.

The book I am currently reading is called 'Scorpia,' I am on page 166, and the author of my book is Anthony Horowitz. One of my favorite lines say "I want to join Scorpia." This is one of my favorite lines because this is a major turning point in the book. Another one of my favorite lines say "Do you want me to turn it off Alex?" The reason this is also one of my favorite lines is because in the book Alex (the main character) doesn't know who his father is and he is just finding out the truth of his father.

"Damn, honey," "You busted your snot locker pretty good" My second favorite Quote is "I hoped whoever found Tinkerbell would love her despite her melted face" Jeannette burned the dolls face.

ReplyDeleteBecause it shows a lot of excitement throughout the book like in the beginning.Like it starts out sad and a lil depressing but then in the middle of the book yu start to see more happiness from the main character.My second line would have to be "please let me be dressed INA huge sweatshirt when I open my eyes.No such luck." I like this line because its funny how her expression and attuide change when something doesn't go her way or she doesn't like something and it reminds me of my sister cause when thing's doesn't completely go her way she gets so sassy and embarrassed.
i am currently reading caught by Margaret Peterson and on page 98. my favorite quote was from Jonah. the quote was "its nice but isn't it more important to save time than to be nice?" its nice but what if that one action ruins time forever.

ReplyDeleteThe book i am reading is Darth paper strikes back by Tom Anglebeger. I am currenlty on page is page 18. My favorite line or quote from the book is "out of school kicked we have been". The reason this is my favorite is because it is poorly worded and at the same time makes some sense. It is a perfect example of a bad yoda impression.

I am currently reading the book Life in motion by Misty Copeland and in on page 5.My favorite line in this book that my character says is "your perfect no matter what you do". I like this line because for some it makes them feel better.Also you don't hear people saying that to someone to make them feel better.You should always feel good or perfect about yourself no matter what anyone says or does to you.I think that's what it was trying to tell me.

I am currently on page 61 of the book Wicked by Sara Shepard. One of my favorite quotes from the book is when Hanna's dad says "Listen. This fall has been terrible for you. And I know testifying at Ian's trial on Friday must be creating stress foe you. And I realize that Kate and Isabel moving here was a little... abrupt. But Hanna, this is a huge life change for Kate. She abandoned her friends in Annapolis to come here, and you've barley spoken to her. You need to start treating her like family." the reason I like that quote is because I can relate to both Hanna and Kate. When my mom married my step dad, I had to move, and go to a new school, and it sucked, but that's how I can relate to Kate... But on the other hand I can relate to Hanna because when I moved in my step sister and brothers got all of my moms attention and it ALWAYS felt like she liked them more than me.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am currently reading is Football Hero by: Tim Green and I am currently on page205. My favorite quote "The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's the essence of it." This is my favorite quote because the meaning of it is to never give up. This quote reminds me of trying out for a new football team and i was new and got first string wide-reciver i never gave up. If you never give up and keep on trying eventually you will acomplish what you want to acomplish. Also have faith in yourself when its your first time learnig how to do something new.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am currently reading is "Big Nate Strikes Again" by Lincoln Peirce and I am on page 91. one of my favorite quotes is when Nate says "P.s 38". that's one of my favorite quotes because I don't know what it means so it leaves the reader trying to figure out what "P.s 38" stands for the whole book. That quote maybe one of the main reasons I am still reading this book to be honest. this is why that is one of my favorite quotes.

I'm currently reading "Everlost" by Neal Shusterman, I'm on page 201. One quote I like from the book is "A brave man's life is worth a thousand cowardly souls" the reason why I say I like this quote is because it symbolizes power over the character when he uses these words. The quote talks about how being brave is something rare. This quote kind of has different meanings if you really think about it, you could think its insulting cowards or that its saying brave men are thought to be higher on the scale than a coward. I like how there is no acurate definition of the quote in the text and that it just keeps you wondering.

The book im reading is Throwing Strikes bt R.A Dickey and im on page 90.''I will never lead the league in strikeouts.''Is my favorite quote.He was doubting himself,and he ended up not only leading the league in strikeouts but he won the Cy Young.The Cy Young is awarded to the best pitcher in the National league and the American league.It's obviously a tremendous accomplishment.

ReplyDeletethe book I am currently reading is called rookie bookie by Jon Wertheim & Tobias Moskowits, i'm on page 1 of this book. My favorite quote in the book is "She's just this kid i met when i had my nose buried in the grass in back of the middle, after i bobbled a pass that would have been a touchdown." I like that quote because it's funny to imagine his nose in the dirt. I can imagine him being hit very hard on the football field and his nose ends up in the dirt. Its also funny because he met a girl while his nose was stuck in the dirt so it was embarrassing to him.

ReplyDeleteThe book i am currently reading is The love curse of the rumbaughs by jack gantos,i am currently on page 180.the book is about a young man discovering a love potion in the basement of a pharmacy.there is a quote that uses a little bit of sarcasm."I expect you might think the story i am about to tell you is untrue or perversely gothic in some unhealthy way".what i most like about that quote is the story is it is untrue the love curse of rumbaughs is just a tale.another one is in the middle of the passage the second generation begins and a little boy said that i found funny relating to me when i was just a little kid."My mother wasn't the scolding type,but once she lurched forward and caught me from behind she didn't let go".

ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Holes by Louis Sachar, and I am on page 84. One of my favorite parts in the book is when Stanley gives X-Ray what he found. The reason why is because they had to dig in a different place then where they actually found it. All of the kids were treated so nice and got plenty of water when they found this item too. This was my favorite part in Holes on page 68.

My favorite quotes in the book are. “Feel dirty inside.” also say it makes her feel bad or she regrets what she have done to him. The other quote in the book is “he’s watching over us.” what she is say is no matter how much sin her and her family does god still loves her and he is there for them through thick and thin .

ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Five Kingdoms:Sky Raiders by Brandon Mull and I am on page 189. My favorite quote is when Cole says "Good bye, Happy" and then there is a faint "Bye". I really like that quote because that part is when Cole is leaving the slave wagon and Happy is a happy face to brighten other peoples day. I also like this quote for the fact that Happy actually responds with a "Bye" its just heart warming. I can actually hear Happy saying bye in my head from reading this.

The book I am currently reading is THE PERFECT SEASON By TIM GREEN page 36. The character says he won't give up and he likes football.I like this line because it reminds me to not give up on things I do. As in sports and etc. the character is funny and likes to play football. The main character is good at not giving up.

I'm currently reading Warriors by Erin Hunter and I'm on page 103. The quote I found I like is 'You cannot live with a paw in each world.' Which means that he cant like with the humans. And the wild cat. So he as to choose one of the people/cats to live with.

ReplyDeleteThe book I just finished recently was The Fight for Power by Eric Walters and finished on page 356. One of my favorite quotes is when the main character Adam disagreed with a superior saying" Well best if Herb doesn't know" (324), this is significant since his actions were noticed but no one knows who disobeyed orders except for Adam's partner Todd. Another quote is when Brett a antagonists implied a threat upon Adam " If i had a chance to take down someone without anyone noticing I would have done it by now" (341), this was very significant since Adam killed Brett in self-defense at night.

I'm reading Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan, and I am on page 151. The quote that I find to be the best is "It was right there on my kindergarten report card: PAUL IS DEFINITELY GAY AND HAS VERY GOOD SENSE OF SELF." The reason I love this quote is because it reminds me of when I was in elementary school. Some people would ask if I was gay, and of course I said no because I was still not ready to accept the truth. But I always laugh thinking back to that time now.

One of my favorite quotes is when they found Davey the boy who was stranded in the ocean."Get out of the water!", and when Davey was hospitalized and in the hospital bed hooked up to a IV his brother said the IV was filled with a little salt water and antibiotics. Davey said "I think i had enough of that already!". Since he has been in salt water for days.

The book that I'm reading is called "Get Over It" by Nikki Carter, and I'm on page 24. One quote that I like from this book is, "Where is my songwriting muse? It's that little light switch that goes on in my brain whenever i get ready to write a hit song. It's my inspiration." I love this quote because that's a good way to start a story, with a mystery. I also love this quote because everyone has that one thing that they're attached to in order for them to come up with a great idea, and everyone has an inspiration.. Hopefully. This is a meaningful quote and I love it.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and I'm on page 140. So far my favorite quote is from Nick when he says "The loneliest moment in someone’s life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly". I like this quote because it's something that reminds me of some personal experiences in life, and to feel like I'm not the only one to have been there is nice. This quote reminds me of those I've lost and even friends who aren't quite as friendly anymore, and even how I felt when it all happened(deep). Although this is currently my favorite I'm sure I'll quickly find a new favorite considering how well so many parts of this book are written.

ReplyDeleteI am currently reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain and I am on page 96.My favorite line or quote is the "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away" on page 95 that Mrs. Harper said to Sid and Aunt Polly. I like this quote because this sentence means a lot of different things about giving and losing in life. I like it because it is deep and makes me think about life and winning and losing. It is my favorite because it mentions the Lord in a time when the people needed to know how they would make it without Tom.

I am currently reading Perfect Season by Tim Green and I am on page 124. My favorite lines from the book are, "Okay, we'll start with pull-ups. All the way up and all the way down. If you don't go all the way up or all the way down, they don't count." I like those lines cause that was when Troy was trying out for the football team and he struggled with the pull-ups. Almost everyone barely got to ten. That is my favorite scene in the book.

The name of my book is, The Summer Before Boys by Nora Raleigh Baskin and I'm on page 66. When I look for my favorite quote or sentence I think of the beginning. Its always the beginning that catches your attention through out the book. I believe that if the book doesn't start out well like not a good intro then its going to be diffcult to read on my part. So on page 1 it says, " My Aunt Louisa, who is really my sister, snored like a machine with a broken part, a broken part that kept cycling around in a shuddering, sputtering rhythm." When I read that I automatically think humor, the connection, and the writers writing techniques. For me the first sentence is always the important and will always be my favorite.

The book I'm currently reading is Hide and seek by Katy Grant and I am on page 190. I like a lot of lines in this book. One of them is "Come on, Dexter. Let's get out of here". While this may seem like a pretty simple line i think it is a good one because the main characters always with their dog Dexter exploring somewhat dangerous situations. One of these instances is when they're staking out an area in the woods.

I read "Bystander" by James Preller and I am finished with the book. This book had some great text quotes and sentences that I found very compelling. Here are some of my favorite quotes from the text. "He was running from, not to, and not running, but fleeing." This quote compelled me to read more, and it explains thoroughly what the kid covered in ketchup is doing, running away from a bully, this sets up the story so well and brings it towards a strong beginning. "'You move here-and all we've been trying to do is figure out how to break out of this place!'" I like this quote because it's very relating, I too have been stuck somewhere I don't want to be, and it's frustrating, so the line just seems perfect to me.

I finished The prisoner of cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans. One of my favorite quotes are "It doesnt matter what you mean to do, It matters what you do". I like this quote because it describes life. If you break something and you didn't mean to, It doesn't matter. What matters is that you did break that item.
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading "Small as an Elephant" by Jennifer Jacobson and I am on page 239. One of my favorite lines are "There was a feeling of joy in those moments, of peace. He felt that way now and walked a little bit taller. He was going to make it to York. He could feel it" I love that part in the book because it really expresses his self confidence and independence. Which also guides him throughout the story. The story would be changed completely without his independence. It just shows his courageousness.

I am currently reading Darkness from Dawn by Sharon M. Draper. I am done with the book. My favorite line in the book is when a boy named Gerald says to his sister " Girl your looking as skinny as a toothpick!" This is my favorite line because i can imagine how he says it and the way he is looking at his sister.

i am reading Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and I am finished with this book. My favorite quote has to be when the main character, Ethan, says "It wasn't a word she had written on the back of her hand. It was a number." This is my favorite quote because is causes me to think about the numbers that are on her hand. It also makes you wonder why there is always a number there.

ReplyDeleteI am done reading reading my IR book which was Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Meyers. The last page was 309. my favorite quote out of the book is "they haven't been in country". This makes it feel as the soldiers have been really going through a tough time. It makes me think of marines fighting in the hot Vietnam sun.

I was reading The 7th Infantry Regiment by John C. McManus I have finished the book. My favorite quote is "You'll never get a Purple Heart hiding in a foxhole! Follow me." This is my favorite because the infantry does not run. They go towards the sound of gun fire so that they can keep our country safe. So that America can stay free.
