Well first off, molly and I (main character) have a connection between basketball. Were both in middle school and is obsessed about a celebrity, hers is Josh C., mine being Drake (the rapper). My book is “Miracle On 49th Street” by Mike Lupica. I’m on page 34.It’s basically in the middle of chapter 3 going into chapter 4.
ReplyDeleteI’m reading “a tree grows in Brooklyn” by Betty Smith. I’m on page 420. One connection I made in the book was between me and the main character, Francie. Francie got a job working for a newspaper company and had to read the papers and mark them and Francie loved to read. Some connections between me and Francie were that we were we are about the same age and we both like to read a lot. I love to read almost every day!

i am completely enjoying the book. I can't wait to finish it and start a new one!
The book I am currently is the under dogs by mike lupica. And I am on page 31 and the way it connects with my life is by him always ready to play football. And it is very uncomfortable when you find a girl playing football and went u do they are really good. And so he runs into this girl and she says that she is a placement kicker. Because when she kicked the ball it hit him in the head and I get hit in the head a lot in football. And it does not feel good. And so he discovers that she is really good and he likes here and they start to hand out and this connects with me by when I was 12 I met a girl that can play football and she was a great teammate and a great player.
ReplyDeleteThat he had a great family. And he has did bad stuff in his life but he is still an good kid. Another thing I have in common with the character is the he was a leader that was adventuress. And Stanley is a curious person who is always has to find out the truth. And blames someone else for his mistake.

Right now I’m on page 70.The main charter in the book is Hamlet .The connections I have in my book between me and Hamlet is we both go too middle school, have sister(s),and also have a dog. It’s getting more interesting as I keep reading and getting more into it.

Well, my book is about a girl with cancer who sadly thinks shes going to die.My connection is that I know about this girl named Talia who made videos on youtube and she had been facing cancer for about 6 years. But I really loved her and her videos, and she was important to my life. Very recently, she died and I know she will be missed. Im reading the book " The fault in our stars" by John Green. Im on page 115.

ReplyDeleteI am reading “Hoot” by Carl Hiaasen. I am currently on page 77. In the book the main character, Roy Eberhardt, finds that his bike has been stolen. He forgot to lock it to the fountain tat was on the golf course. I can relate to this because when I lived in Coral Springs, Florida, my brother’s bike got stolen. He too forgot to lock it up.

While John was with the military, they wrote each other letters and talked on the phone. Last year I moved from Utah to Florida. My best friend still lives in Utah, and I text her everyday.

I am currently reading 'The House On The Gulf' by Margaret Peterson. I am on page 112 and finding it very interesting. One connection I have with this book is that Brittany(the main character) has a next door neighbor that is just like her grandma, and so do I. Also, Brittany and her family live in Florida, just like I do. I cant wait to read more!

ReplyDeleteI'm terribly sorry if this disappoints anyone, but I have found almost no similarities between my life and my realistic fiction book, Ungifted (I'm on page 24). I'm not just trying to take the lazy way out here, but you see, it might not be so bad not finding any similarities: I’ve never sent the heavens and the earth crashing through the gym at a hundred miles per hour; I’ve never gotten illegitimately sent to supergenius school while hiding out of trouble from previously stated disaster. My sister isn’t planning on giving birth anytime soon (she’s 9); I’ve never met a kid with an IQ of 206 and more than slightly corrupted him by showing him what YouTube is, resulting in him learning about pro wrestling, leading to him crashing the school dance while dressed up as Kid Nitro and body-slamming the crowd from the DJ booth, and beating another school’s robot’s head in with a judge’s folding chain, WWE style; or anything else of that nature. See my point? This isn’t exactly something you would normally be proud to find similarities in your life with.

I'm still reading Ronald dahls book of ghost stories and im on page 33 still.I this book is really cool because it leaves you with cliff hangers and tells you stuff you never heard about.My connection with this book is that I really like this book and I like ghost because they are scary and creep me out.I really think I should share this book with the class because it's really good.

I am currently reading A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. I am on page 190. I have quit a few connections to this book. A Walk in the Woods is about a man who goes on the Appalachian Trail. He faces a few surprises along the way with his buddy Katz. I can relate to this book because I have been hiking before where the book takes place. I have gone along some of the Blue Ridge parkway. I can relate to the book because I have been to many of the places that the main characters go through. Such as Amicalola Falls. It’s a great book and I highly recommend it!

ReplyDeleteI’m currently reading the vampire stalker by Allison van deepen. I am now on page 150. There are a lot of things that I can connect to my book. One the main connections that I can make with my book are that sometimes I want to tell my friends some things but I know that I can’t. Just like Amy (my main character) I know that is important to just to say nothing.

ReplyDeleteThe current book I am reading is called Search for Safety, by John Lagan and I am on page 83. Right now I only have one connection with my book, and that is when my character goes to work in a convenience store with a man named Mr. Graham. The reason why I can relate to this is because my uncle has a barbeque store and in it he has things that are for the customer’s convenience. My grandma also has a store of her own but her store is just convenience. And this is how I relate to the story so far.

ReplyDeleteI have just finished reading the book Sapphique (sequel to Incarceron) by Catherine Fisher. It was 462 pages long. In the book, Claudia had a bad relationship with her father. I can relate to this because my mom and I don’t get along very well. Claudia rarely sees her father, and I rarely see my mom. My mom lives really far away, while Claudia’s father lives in a whole different world.

The connection I had Is one of my friends has a crush on my sister. The main character is Jonah. His friend is Chip and his sister is Kathryn.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is The Outsiders by S.E Hinton and I am on page 184. A connection I have with the book is that Ponyboy has a close connection with all of the people in his gang (SodaPop, Steve, Darry, Two-Bit, Dally and Johnny). They are all good to each other and always have each other’s backs when they need it. I have that same thing with me and my friends and I know I have their back while they have mine if anything happens.

I think I have a connection with Annanbeth, because she has amazing bravery and compassion, and I like to think that I am the same way. She has fantastic fighting skills and I am in martial arts. This book is amazing and I highly recommend it,

ReplyDeleteThe book I am currently reading is called, Football Genius by Tim Green and I am on page 34. In a recent chapter in my book, the main character Troy is faced with a conflict. He plays on a pee wee football team in Atlanta, Georgia. He is 2nd string quarterback but all his teammates know the only reason Troy doesn’t start is because the starting quarterback is the coach’s son, Jamie. He is constantly bullying Troy and making fun of him and how he doesn’t have a dad. One day after football, Troy tells Jamie that his mom just got a job with the Atlanta Falcons and she has all the connections with the players. Which isn’t true, Troy’s mom just was interviewed to work for the falcons but at that time, had not received the job yet. Jamie tells Troy that he can’t get a real Falcons Football before the next game on Saturday, which makes Troy determined to get one. His mom gets the job and he asks her if she can get him one but she can’t until after the game. Troy decides to sneak out at night with his friends and sneak into the neighborhood of the Falcons starting linebacker, Seth Holloway. Troy steals a ball from his house and gives it to Jamie but Jamie told him it’s too big to use and his mom probably stole it. Troy goes to put the ball back in his yard and he gets caught by the neighborhood patrol. I can relate to this because I went to a professional soccer game and a game ball was on the field about 15 yards from me. I knew how much those balls were worth because they had “Professional Game Ball” stamped on it. I snuck under the barricade and went and grabbed it and came back. I thought I had gotten it until a security guard came over and told me to put it back on the field. That is how I can connect with my book.

I am reading Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life by Wendy Mass. I am currently on page 108. In the book Jeremy has to find a set of keys to open a box his father made for him. Though I have never had to search for a set of keys we both don’t like to travel outside of our town. Everything he needs has always been in close range and that has always been the same for myself. But every so often there is something that I do need outside of town.

I am currently reading Endangered by Eliot Schrefer on page 91. So far i find this book interesting but i do not have much in common with it. I have never even heard of a bonobo until i read this book. The only thing i can find in common with this book is that im from the united states

ReplyDeleteI'm still reading Sand Dollar Summer and I'm currently on page 172. In this story her mom was in a bad car accident and was hospitalized for a while. I can relate to this becuase when my dad had a heart attack he was in the hospital for a while too. She also had to do a lot to recover from it like physical therapy and not being able to do anything. My dad had to stay home for an extra month and couldn't do a lot of excersise to let his heart get better.

My mom has not died and I don't really like to go to zoos to see animals. The only connection that I can relate to is that this book takes place in the United states in Calforina.

The main character is a boy, I have never expierienced a life changing trauma, or ever been in serious trouble.The closest thing I have in common with this book is that I help others in times of need.Im sort of happy that I dont have any thing in common with this book its all about loss and destruction.
ReplyDeleteI am reading Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. I’m currently on page 114 out of 454 pages. Scarlet (the main character) is being introduced to many new people and things. For example, she met a new fighter that people call Wolf and at first Scarlet is under the impression that he’s a nice man but is starting to be more suspicious as she comes across her dad and grandma being kidnapped. I have a connection to her, not because her father and grandma got kidnapped, but because I am also meeting new people and experiencing new things. I’m meeting new people because this is my first year at Fort Clarke, and I’ve been making new friends and also I am not familiar with the teachers here.

ReplyDeleteThe book that I am currently reading is called Baseball Great, by Mike Lubica. I am on page 70 out of 255 pages. One of the connections that I have with the book is that the main character Josh loves baseball. I also love baseball. Whenever Joshes coach tells him to do something or to play a certain position he is right on it, no questions asked. I am the same way as Josh. Me and Josh do not backtalk are coaches or argue with them if we think they are wrong

The connection was that me and Brian are both about the same age and that we both have been lost in the woods for a while. I was lost in the woods for about two hours.

ReplyDeleteI just finished reading the book Divergent by Veronica Roth. The connection I have with the book is that the main character's friend Christina has a fear of moths. And back in Illinois, my best friend Helen has a fear of moths, just like Christina's fear. Those of you who haven't read Divergent yet, you really should. This book is about the utopian world. Which means the future in chaos and wars.

Both of us are also in the same age group, and we both try our hardest to do the best we can in sports. I think Nate and I are just alike.

I'm book reading is It's not like I planned it this way, by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. I'm on page 78. My book is about a sophomore whose dad is getting remarried, but not everything is going as planned. I think that relates to my life a lot. I believe that the book is saying that not everything goes as planned, and I think that is similar to my life cause not everything goes the way we think it should go, because we don’t know how things are supposed to go. There are always going to be different endings but it depends on how we approach the problem to see if it will go the way we had envisioned it.
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Uglies by Scott Westerfeld and I am on page 268. The way this book connects with my life and a lot of other people’s lives are that many people, teen mostly, wish for perfection and a glamorous life where you don’t have to work for love, money, looks or anything. In Tally’s world, when you turn 16, you undergo an extreme cosmetic surgery that makes you pretty, perfect, immune to diseases; have a perfect body, and apparently a perfect pretty mind. Sadly our modern day plastic surgery could never compete with that. With all the modern day pressures of being perfect, to being pretty, the surgery would seem like a small price to pay for a life of glamour, fun, and hakuna matata (it means no worries). It would get rid of war, and people feeling left out, and ugly. Everyone wins, and wouldn’t that be wonderful? But then the big question pops up. Is all this worth losing yourself and giving up how you were meant to look like just to be what others want you to be, all for the sake of equality? Apparently, the truth about the pretty world isn’t all that pretty. The surgery changes how you think and I don’t know about you, but I don’t want my mind to change. I like the way I am and if it involved a choice of betraying your best friend and becoming pretty or remaining ugly forever, I would choose being unperfected because that’s the best part about me. I hope that Tally makes the same decision as I did because even though we all have over cravings for perfection, being perfect is boring and in my opinion, being ugly is the new pretty.

The book that I am currently reading is called “Perfect” by Natasha Friend and I am on page 163. There are several connections between the main character and I, one is that she has a sister and I also have a sister. The second connection is that the main character and I are both in the eighth grade and we are both 13 years old. There is one other connection that the main character Isabelle and I have and it is a personal one. Lastly, there are several connections but there are times where the main character and I don’t connect.

I honestly don't have a personal connection to this book due to it being very brutal and all. The only real connection i have is the girl having a sister like i do. I am reading the stand by Stephen King. I am on page 810. The characters in the book are definitely going thorough some tough times( because every body is sick or dying or dead from the superflu. This reminds me of when my mom lost her job. Our family had to work together more than ever. The characters also had to pull together to survive the sickness.

ReplyDeleteso far in Theodore Boone the abduction my connection has not been directly to me but in another movie. in the movie Taken a mysterious s criminal kidnaps a teen-age girl and the main character is trying to find her. in the book I am reading April gets kidnaped and Theo is trying to save her. I am reading Theodore Boone the abduction I am one page 47 and the author is John Crisham.

She and I both also love romance movies. I have noticed that Stephanie and I are very similar in just our personalities. My book so far is very good it’s just my type of book.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading "Hollis Woods" by: Patricia Reilly Giff and I'm on page 136. I have some similar characteristics with the main character Hollis. She and I are two people that escape in a world of art. We love to draw and love to capture landscapes and everything that comes in our sight. Hollis also comes to a realization that she enjoys taking care of others, even if she didn't start out like that. I have a very similar personality! And that's why I love this book!

I am on page 146, of the book I’m reading, “Chomp”, by Carl Hiaasen. I can connect to this book because Wahoo’s (the main character) mom is all the way in china. My dad is not all the way in China, but he isn’t with me all the time. At the beginning of the book, she was there, but she had to go to China to work and get money for their family. My dad has to do the same thing. Every chance Wahoo got, he called her. I do the same. Of course, I don’t always remember, but when I do I call him. Just like the main character, I have a parent that is far away.

ReplyDeleteI am still reading the book, Models Don't Eat Chocolate Cookies by Erin Dionne, on page 65. One connection I would make with the main character, Celeste Harris, would be that she feels insecure about herself. She doesn't like her weight and doesn't even think she can be a model. She has a chance to be a HuskyPeach, but doesn't want to be a chubby model. She doesn't care to much what everyone else, she just does her own thing. Celeste and I are very similar when it comes to being insecure.

ReplyDeleteEvan, The brother of Jessie in 'The Lemonade War', reminds me of how I was in when I was younger. I was always really competitive against my older sister. We both had a "reputation" to be upheld so if either of us lost a competition we had to challenge the other to another competition to "get even". It may seem weird to some people but I'm pretty sure that at least one of you were like this when you were younger. My book is The Lemonade War, By Jaqueline Davies (I did not put the page # becuase i finished the book but have not read enough into the new book to give five sentences worth.)

ReplyDeleteThe book I am still currently reading is called "Border Town" the author is "Malin Alegria".I am on page 52. This book connects with my life now because it is in school and theres alwasys drama. The main character "Fabi" likes a guy named "Dex" and her younger sister who just joined the school has her eyes set on him too. Her sister"Alexis" seems to fit in the cool group really good and Fabi is kinda jelouse. This connects because tow of my hairs can like the same boy and its just alot of drama mixed up. That is how it connects to my life now.

The book I am still currently reading is called “My Almost Epic Summer”. The page I am currently on is 59. This book is connected to my life because it takes place in the summer and there is a little drama. In this book a girl dreams to have this perfect summer and everything goes right but we all know that is not how reality works. Then everything goes downhill from the first day of summer. That is how it connects to my life now.

ReplyDeleteThe book i am still currently reading is called "My little phony", by Lisi harrison. I am on page 100 and it is really good so far. This book is connected in my life because its about this group of friends that get a couple days out of school due to the amount of snow. They all then got together and had a sleepover. They played funny games, gossiped, and went to a party.That is the same thing i did this weekend with my friends, but only one stayed to my house.

ReplyDeleteCurrently, I'm reading "Michael Vey - The Prisoner of Cell 25" by Richard Paul Evans. I am not much similar to the main character of the book (which is evident by the fact that I can't seem to shoot electricity from my fingers), but he is very fond of his mother like me. I do share a few similarities with Ostin, the main character's best friend. Like him, I'm fascinated with science and maths.

ReplyDeleteA connection that is between the character and I is that we both don't do too well in school and struggle to keep out of trouble. Percy Jackson is always trying to find new schools that suit him better as for me I'm not really trying to find new schools so we do also have our differences. The Percy Jackson is a very good series and will ready all the other books later.

ReplyDeleteMy current book is the Skin I'm In by Sharon G. Flake, and i am on page 48. This book shows a connection between life because it has to do with bullying. This is a connection because bullying is something that people face everyday.There are tons of reasons why people get bullied 24/7. The main character in this book is being bullied for her race. Bullying is not ok yet people will still do it anyways.
ReplyDeleteIn my book [my book is called "Cracker the best dog in Vietnam"] the main character Brian loves his dog that he got, Cracker. I also love my dog Tuck he is a pit/black lab. Both dogs would do anything to protect there owners. i have recently finished my book. i have to say that it is one of my favorite books of all time. i would definitely recommend it for anyone who likes a good story following a dog.

ReplyDeleteDavid, the main character, in general can't seem to cope with that fact that his mother has passed away. He keeps hoping that if he obeys enough rules his mother will come back. Even if he follows the rules, his grandmother's rules, he thinks don't apply to him. After the death of his mother he became very quiet and withdrawn about the subject. His father only comes home on the weekends ,due to him being a sales manager, he can't always be there for David so his grandmother watches over David. Throughout the book he has been quite gullible, and always believes what he sees whether it was put in context or not. An example of this is when he found an egg in a girls' mouth covered in leaves and eyes closed. He believed she was dead and alerted to local authorities. He then saw the girl at a book reading he screamed because he thought the girl was a ghost. The book is Eggs By Jerry Spinelli. I am on page 114.
