Blog #3 Due: Monday 2/13/12

Think about your friends and the kind of books they would read. Which of your friends or classmates should read your current independent reading book? What do you think he or she would like about it? Why? Remember to tell us the title of the book, author, and current page number.
Make your response at least 5 sentences long and comment twice.

  5. I'm reading Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit and I'm on page 70. I would recommend this book to Jamie because I think she likes reading about magic in books. She just read Ella Enchanted and loved it, so I figured she'd really like the fantasy of the Tuck family and how they can live forever. Plus, she likes romantic books and I'm pretty sure this book is going to have a love story in it sooner or later. I'm pretty sure Jamie would love this story, but everyone would like the charming Tuck boys and happy, little Winnie Foster's adventure into the world.

the book i am currently reading is adventure island by robert louis stevenson, and i am on page 58. i would recomend this book to my best friend hendrix because it contains elements of action and adventure, which are his favorite vidieo game genres (as hinted by his obsession with the follout series). it also contains people diying early in the book, often one after another, which falls under the action category. though it may be a bit to old for him (it tkaes place in the 1700s), he still should find it some what intresting. some of you can tell that, judgeing by the title, it contains a heavy adventure element, which i am sure at least most of us like, am i right?

  138. I currently finished reading I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore. I think Taylor would enfoy this book. I think he would like it because it has a lot of actions and superpowers. I think Taylor reads adventure books or books with a lot of fighting. If he liked the Percy Jackson series, I think he would likethis book.

  144. I am currently reading the Hose of the Scorpion. I am on page 33. I would recommend my book to James Houston. I would recommend this book to him because he likes to read big, interesting books and this book is interesting and 379 pages. He would also probably like the whole story of the book because the book is also kind of random.

  147. The book I am currently reading is Harry Potter and the Half Blood princes and I am on page 167. I would recommend my book to anyone who enjoys fantasy novels and long books that take dedication to finish. If you're not into sitting down and getting immersed into an 800 page book, then this isn't for you. I believe that Liz would enjoy this book because she devours books with great length. The Potter books begin small and greatly increase in size, mystery, and adventure.

  148. anichols2, Have you watched the movie, do you think it would match the book well? Also, I believe that book would fit anyone who likes to read about the civil rights movement.

  153. The book i am currently reading is A wrinkle in time, by Madeleine L'Engle. I am currently on page 97. I would recommend this book to my sister Alyssa, because its a fairly short book. She wouldn't get bored with it or anything. I also would recommend this to her, because she likes fantasy books, of things that would never happen.

  156. I am currently reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling, and I'm on page 71. I think that my friend Laura should read this book, because she told me that she thinks Twilight is better than Harry Potter. I think that she would like many aspects of it, one being how there is romance thrown into it, because she seems to like romance. I think that if she started to read the series it would prove her wrong and she wouldn't believe her drastically horrible mistake that she told me. I think that the further she got into the book, the more that it would begin to change her mind.
