I am reading a book called "Philippa Fishers Fairy Godsister" It is by Lis Kessler, and I am on page 37.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I don't like about my book is, it is a fantasy book. I really dislike fantasy books. The reason is because its not something that could really happen. One thing that I like about this book, is that the author makes it seem like it can really happen. The reason I say that is because when Philippa finds a fairy in her backyard, she brings it her tree house and makes her own little place to be in. I alwaso like it because when Philippa foud the fairy she becan to worry like it was goin to do something bad to her house and she ran down stairs to check up on her.
Te author is Rick Riordan and the book is the titaans curse . I am done with the book but my favorite thing about my book is that the main character has powers. I dont like how the book always have somthing to do with rescuing people.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is Found by Margaret Peterson. I am on page 22 and thing I really like is it gives good details about what’s going on. One bad thing is that it gives so much details that it’s hard to follow. But other than that it is a really good book.

The book I am currently reading is Love and Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson. I am on page 11. One thing I don't like about the book is how all four girls in this book are far away from each other. They are best friends but they can't see each other because they all went off to college. One thing I like about this book is how they all still have a close relationship. They still have stayed close through tough times.

I am reading "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban" by J.K. Rowling.I am on page 185. One thing I really like about my book is that it is Harry Potter, and i'm a Harry Potter nerd. One thing I don't like is the fact that it's really long, like Rstraub2's response.
ReplyDeleteTHe book that am reading is called ransom and it is by louis Duncan and the page that i am currently on is page 201.The think that i do not like about this book is that it doesn't give detail. And i am the type of person that if there isn't enough detail then i dont understand it. So there are some points in the book where i am point blank lost. The thing that i like about this book is that it is mystery it always has you thinking 'what's going to happen next?' or 'why did he do that?' sometimes i find myself yelling at the book although that could just be me being me i dont know but tit is very interesting.

One of the specific things I like about my book is the fact that the autor did such a great job at creating the book the things she includes or makes up in the book almost seems real. Like the man eating rats.The talking bats.The people that live thousands of feet under the streets of New York and the blind sea serpents,etc.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is The Phantom TollBooth by Norton Juster. I am on page 80. I am reading this book for a project in Mr.Pickerings class so it's a little below reading level.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I really like about this book is the word play the author uses. He doesnt make normal sentances he likes to rhyme things. I also love how much creativity he put into this book. One thing i dislike about the book is it kinda seems like its dragging on and im waiting for what the true goal of the stroy is.

The book I am currently reading is called I Know What You Did Last Summer. The Author is Lois Duncan. I am currently on page 10. One thing I like about my book is that it keeps you guessing on what is going to happen next. Like when the narrorator saids that there's a letter on the table in the very first sentence in the chapter. But they don't tell you what it says until the very last sentence of the chapter. One thing I don't like about the book is that it hasn't gotten to the action yet. I've seen the movie and I know more is going to happen. I hope it's as good as the movie.

One thing I like about this book is that it is about a kid wanting to and learning about the law. I say this because this could be something that I can do when I get older; go into the law business. I don't really have any dislikes on the book right now, to me it's a great book.

One thing I like about my book so far is that the main character Karen is babysitting and her boyfriend tried going to see her while she was and she refused to do anything with him because she felt uncomfortable. She doens't want to cause she doesn't want the little boy to walk in and see that and then tell his parents and she has the baby with her. One thing I don't like about this book is that the boyfriend is getting upset cause Karen won't kiss him or anything.

The book i just finished reading was Derek Stone the 3rd and 4th book. Then author is Tony Abbott. The part i really liked in the book was when Derek found out who he really was with the help of his mother. The part i didn't like was when Ronny died. Over all it was a great book.

The Name of my book is Deeper by Brian Williams. Also I am currently on page 59. One thing that I really like about this book is that all the charactes have their own personality, some have some crazy hobbies, and some might have really weird habits.Its like there is no chance that any character will be alike to another. One thing I don't like is how sometimes the author is unclear about what he is trying to describe. Also he changes topics to fast, he'll be talking aboutone thing and then quickly change to another.

One thing I really like about my book is the fact that these events could happen in real life, and it seems so real when i'm reading it. One thing I don't necessarily like is the fact that in the begining it's kind of boring. The beginging is boring but I know that in the end it will be interesting.

I am currently reading "The Red Pyramid" by an extremely famous author, Rick Riordan. One thing I like about this book is that he switched writing about Greek mythology and started on Egyptian mythology. Instead of having powers inside them, they write out hieroglyphics and curse spells like that. One thing I dont like is how in one of his books someone always dies. In this one their father dies in front of their eyes.

The name of my book is The Secret Language of Girls by Frances O'Roork Dowell. I am on page 22. One thing that I like about this book is it’s about two girls going into sixth grade and they are talking about boys. One thing that I dislike is that they act like they are in second grade. Also, it is a little boring because they are talking about random thing, like animals.

One thing i dont like is that like after they solve every mystery they are on another one come up outa no where it is verry tense and you never can guess what is comming around the corner and i dont like not knowing about whats ganna happen i like being able to know what is ganna happen or guess any ways.

ReplyDeleteThe book i am currently reading is called lay that trumpet in our hands by susan carol mccarthy. I am on page 23 because i just started reading this book. One thing i really dislike about this book is that its historical fiction. I like historical fiction but some parts are really boring in this book so far. One thing i really like about this book is that it paints a picture in my mind and what the characters are feeling. One example is in the book it says how the body was laid out in the back of the truck with red blood oozing out of his lip and deep scratches filled with blood were all over his body. It really paints a picture in my mind of what that looks like.

ninth grade slays pg 84 by heather brewer i like that it includes a normal teen like us and hes normal problems but hes a vampire. i like everything about it. he has this one girl he likes but hes speechlees when he talks to her. he has a guy after him so theirs action. also theres some funny parts to it

ReplyDeleteMy book is called "Lock and Key." The author is Sarah Dessen and I'm on page 196. One thing I like about this book is that Ruby, the main character, is learned about family during this whole book. She lived with her mom when she was growing up. But one day, her mom just disappeared with all of her stuff. Ruby thought she was just going to be a couple of days. But, weeks and months have passed and she has a broken dishwasher, broken dryer, and the air conditioner is broken too. When the landlords showed up and saw that she was alone they called the cops. Ruby had to move with her older sister, Cora, and her husband, Jamie. She has to go to a new school and live a rich life. She has her own room, own bathroom, and a closet that is as big as her room. She has a neighbor, Nate, who is her new friend. He is a sweet guy who is very active and cute. One thing I don't like about this book is the mother. The mother was only in the beginning of the book and she is really mean. I wish she didn't just be mean. All she did was yell, drink, and invite guys over. Ruby never got a real mom. I think they should have made the mom be a little bit nicer. Or maybe the mom should come back and be changed. I love this book and everyone should read this.

Im reading the marine corps writen by John Smith. Im on page 44. I like how it talks about the marines history and how it was brought up. It is really intresting to me. One thing i dont like is how it shows something from the past, and then the next page it is something that is hapining now. I think that makes the book a little off topic sometimes.

The abilities help them complete missions assigned to them with ease. The worse part is hard to say since my book is pretty awesome. The worse part is definatley the awesomely evil monsters.

The book I am reading is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. I am currently on page 86. One thing I don't like about my book is that it gets really confusing. One moment in the book the main character Montag will be driving down the street and then the next sentence is him at home talking with his wife. I dislike how it doesn't explain who is talking or where they are at. One thing I like about my book is how it mixes sci-fi and realistic fiction. The book is supposed to take place in the distant future but there are robots and advanced inventions like a firehouse pole that pulls you up automatically. My book also has realistic fiction because it is about a society that doesn't think for itself and has abandoned books and only burns them.

ReplyDeleteHarry Potter books are usually very long I think they are about 500 pages long. I agree that Harry Potter is awesome and I am a nerd too.
The book Im Reading is Dr. Franklin's Island by Ann-Halam and I am on page 27. I like the fact that there are difficult people who are stranded on this island. They have to come together to survive on it. One character is Mairanda and she wants to be the boss, wants to lead the survival. Another character is Arine and all he do is complain and not let Mairanda be in charge. The main character is Semi and she is stuck in the middle, she wants to know will they get off the island. One thing I dont like about the book so far is that it needs to elabarate more. Most books I put myself in that situations but in this book I cant do that. It only says the plane expoloded it does not describe it. It only says they swamed for their lives it dont tell me how they were swimming.

My book is called the outsiders and I am on page 120. I look this book because the main character has a group of friends, and they always stick together no matter what. Like when the main character Ponyboy killed someone and all his friends were there to help him escape the cops. What I don't like in this book are the Soc's they are also a group of friends exept their rich and upper class. They are stuck up and always picking on Ponyboy and his friends.

I am reading "The Clique" by Lisi Harrison. I am currently on page 157. One thing I like about my book is that the words are big on the pages. Which makes it very east to read. One thing I don't like about my book is that it lacks entertainment and doesn't keep my attention very long. And after a while it gets me so annoyed to the point where I will put the book down and won't bother reading it.

I am reading Torment by Lauren Kate. I just finished the book. I really liked the plot behind the book. Everything felt as if it was perfect, I really enjoyed the book. I didn't really like the ending, it left me guessing and wanting the author to create another book. I hope she writes a sequel to this one; both books so far in the series have lived up to my expectations.

One thing I like about my book is that it is full of action and adventure and it isn't boring like most books are. One thing I don't like about it is that it is kind of hard to follow at first. My book is the sea of trolls and it is by Nancy Farmer. I am on page 25. This book has a lot of interesting parts/characters/themes. My favorite thing about the book is the bard in this book, he is a wizard. He makes a lot of potions and does alot of magician things while Jack( the bards apprentice) is there. My least favorite thing is that the book has a lot of boring parts. It's interesting but it also is slow.

The book Iam resding is called "The Time Machine," written by H.G. Wells. I am on page 156. One thing nthat I really like about my book is that it gives me alot of details.The book describes a native fruit as a blue cottony blob surronded by a layer of gooey seeds and has a light sea blue glow. Once cut open, it reveals a sage color walnut sized seed called a "Glinna." However I don't like how it only has little girls, it doesn't say where all the men and boys are.

My book is a fantasy so it has a bunch of cool characters. Some of the characters are Rapunzel, Puss-in-Boots, and the grandma witch. The title of my book is Snatched. The authors are Pete Hautman and Mary Logue. I am currently on page 22. One thing i like about my book is that the main character in my book, Alicia, was beat up and it doesn't tell who it is. The reason i like that is because it leaves you wondering. But what i do like about this bokk is that it has that catch to it that makes you want to read it more and read it faster. I really like the fact that the whole plot is like a reallity show, eliminating suspects one by one until the find the true killer.

The book I am reading is Avalon High by Meg Cabot. I am on page 124. I like this book because it is very descriptive and I enjoy that. What I really hate is it is very unrealistic. It it meant to be realistic but it really fails in that.

I am reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J. K. Rowling. I am on page 623. One specific thing I really like about this book is that at the end of each chapter the author, J. K. Rowling, leaves you hanging. She purposly makes one chapter suspenseful with a lot of information crammed into it and by the end of the chapter she just sort of drops off her writing. One thing I really don't enjoy in my book is that J. K. Rowling doesn't give a good description of any characters besides Harry. She says the names of all of the characters but only goes into description about Harry, Ron, and Hermoine. Although, she doesn't do a great job of describing some of the minor characters I still really enjoy this book and I have a fairly vivid and accurate picture in my head of what all of the characters look like because I have seen the movie based off this book before.
ReplyDelete9th grade slays by heather brewer and page 128. i really like how the story is so different then all the other books i read and it keeps u guessing on whats going to happen the whole time. there are a lot of surprises you wouldnt of guess of.like once vlad liked this girl for the lontgest time and you wouldnt think she liked him back but she did. another time when this kid took a picture and u would never thought he would even have interest in one of the most unpopular kids at school.i dont have one flaw of the book .

The number one thing that i like about my book is that takes place in the future in a futuristic version of Italy. The author put a lot of detail and has a lot of cool information that i like so far and i hope i like when i get further into the book.
The thing that i dont like about the book is that is is almost 500 pages long, thats alot of pages. It count as two books and thats ok but over all i think its going to be a good book. It may seem like that books can never to much detail but all of the details that the author gives is what makes the book so long.
I am reading a book called "The Return Of The King" made by J. R. R. TOLKIEN, and I'm on the current page 21.
ReplyDeleteI like about this book is the Dark lord Sauron swarmed out to conquer all middle-earth, mean while Frodo and Sam struggled deep into mordor, seat of Sauron's power.To defeat the Dark Lord, accursed Ring of power had to be destroyed in the fires of mount doom.
And Basically I don't really hate anything about this story but yea which I disliked was the way it been impossibly hard for them, Ring of power had to be destroyed in the fires of mount doom, and Frodo was weakening.

The book I am currently reading is how I Nicky Flynn got a life And a Dog by Art Corriveau. I am currently on page 181. One thing I like about the book is people can relate too it. One thing I don’t like about the book is how long the book is.

I am reading Harriet the spy. the author is Louise Fitzhugh. I am currently on page 30. The thing I really like about the book is the main character Harriet M. Welsh. She is out of the ordinary and just different than everyone else. She thinks she's a spy and she uses her imagination a lot. The thing I dislike so far is how Harriet writes bad things about people in her notebook. She keeps a notebook just for that. I really disliked that.

I am reading the book Bluford High: A Matter of Trust. It's by Anne Schraff and I am on page 41. One thing I like about this book is that it is really descriptive. It tells everything that the characters are feeling and what happens next. I don't like how it is very dramatic every page.

The book I am reading is Dairy Queen, the author is Catherine Gilbert Murdock. I am on page 50. One thing I do not like about my book is it can be a little bit confusing the way the book is written. In some parts it will skip to the next week or a couple months later, it makes it confusing. One thing I like about the book is it makes it seem like it really happened, and there is alot of things that can happen in one chapter. It makes me want to keep on reading it.

I've never read that series.
My book is called Theater Shoes by Noel Streatfeild. I'm on page 58. One thing i really like about this book is how the three main characters/brothers and sister are dealing with so much drama with there grandmother who doesn't speak to them very often. One thing I dont like about it is the lack of details. This book is kind of plain without details.

The book I am reading is called New Moon. It's by Stephanie Meyers and I just finished the book. The thing I like most about the book is how Edward just left Bella and left you hanging. I also like the romance between Jacob and Bella. What I didn't like about the book was how basically the entire book was a soap opera. There weren't many surprises or super exciting parts.

The book i am reading is called the Vietnam War. There is now author. I am on page 176. ONe thing i like about this book is that it is telling us about a big war that we had with veitnam. the reason i like this is becuase i like military stuff. One thing i dislike about this book is that they talk about how the people were agianst the war. I dont think it was right for them to do that.

ReplyDeleteOne specific thing I really liked in my book was the humor between Henry and Vlad. They liked to make fun of Vlad being a vampire.
One specific thing I really didnt like about the book was it was some-what similar to the first book. I wish they shook things up a little.
